"I wanted to start, then I'm gonna kick it to you guys. Then when you are wrong about things, and you are going to be, I will jump in and let you know." Classic Colin
lol? he says "at least now i'm a bit more informed" "i appreciate the people out there who see that i'm trying" so idk where you're getting that he thinks hes the smartest one in the room
Bryce Sipes I listened to this just to here his oppinon. I don't care about the other generic, brain- washed democratic social justice warrior, pie in sky views from the others.
Bryce Sipes I don't think we need more Colin idolatry in this community. Plus, they need someone to challenge Colin, or one of the guys needs to help Tim play devil's advocate more often. Just to broaden discussion.
I'm pretty far left and was a Bernie supporter, that being said, I think Colin has a lot of cool insight and calls shit like he sees it. Has nothing to do with idolatry. How passionate he is about politics makes me like it even more.
I agree with Colin, not even a big fan of Trump, but watching the media that night eat the fucking crow and just be in complete and utter shock on live TV and in the stories online. Was immensely satisfying.
carmine-james guglielmucci to me it felt more like he was saying: "Shame on you for your ignorance, ya hypocrite. At least I can admit I'm hella ignorant." Maybe just a tiny bit of paraphrasing.
That moment when you realize that the GameOverGreggy Show, has less bias and more adult conversations about politics, than most TV news networks. Good job guys.
Colin spoke in a sides scrollers interview that he got the political/history bug out of his system after about 6 months and he has no desire to do it. He was also offered a $300k a year salary by a major news org to work for them and he turned it down after leaving KF.
I'm not that interested in American politics as an Australian but this was still a really interesting listen from you guys, appreciate it. I also love that you guys talking about not liking Titanfall 2 is more controversial than a politics episode :P
Colin is the reasonable and honest portion of this ensemble. Didn't vote for either, and if the points he's making were addressed, maybe we could have all been honest and said that you don't ever have to vote for the lesser of two evils, it's still evil.
That's true, but protest votes (or non-votes) don't really do anything. If you actually want to affect the system you should fight for systemic change through actual protest and action, not by sitting out of the electoral process. Our electoral system makes it virtually impossible for a third party to rise through popular vote, there has to be outside change to the system before you can have more parties.
45:27 - This is one of the biggest issues I've had is the "how can you be fair and balanced when that person is saying something that 99% of people would think it's bad?" mindset. For starters once again, the sound byte trend, you heard a clip of Trump apparentely saying something overwhelmingly offensive. There was little attempt to step back and ponder over what did he mean. It was this bizarre notion that Trump haters, generally speaking, didn't take him seriously, but took everything he said literally. And by taking him literally also went to the most extreme interpretation and doubled down on it. This is why many of the "Trump will jail political opponents", "Trump throws a woman and a baby out","Trump invites Russia to hack USA", "Trump brag about sexual assault", "Trump mocks disabled reporter"-type stories where born. There was no truth to any of those, but hatred for Trump blinded some to those facts. But Trump saying mean things doesn't excuse the media or the entertainment industry for blatantly taking sides on these issues. And for the fact that Clinton despite her heavy baggage, was never subject to the same scrutinity that Trump underwent. This idea of unqualified voters is also a doozy and reeks of "stuff that nobody would talk about if Hillary won". Take what you will.
Part of what a lot of people don't realize is that Trump has a very working class New Yorker way of speaking, which is more "colorful" than most of the country is used to. This makes his speech blunt and extravagant at times, but it honestly says more about his origins than his character.
Ummm... I don't have enough knowledge to speak on most of those things, but I wouldn't call the "grab her by the pu$$y thing" a "sound byte." It was, like, a full minute of him admitting to trying to bang a married woman and then talking about how he loves to kiss women without their consent, so it's not like it lacks any context. Now, I'm not the type who's saying we should burn Washington to the ground just because a Republican won, but I do think it's important to say that not everything Trump has said or done should be looked over because "liberal pussies take everything out of context."
+Patrick That soundbyte needed more context. Trump speaks in hyperbole, and you weren't there when he kissed those women. So stop assuming it was without consent. People generally act different around famous people, and could give off signs of "being interested". The only thing he did wrong was courting a married woman.
This is exactly why a person who used to be super liberal that lives in Seattle voted for trump in 2024 after voting for Biden in 2020. The lies are insane
Best looking PC game of ALL time in your opinion? Just built a new gaming PC for the first time, looking to run the absolute BEST looking game of all time.
Kinda Funny crew I've been with you guys on this fantastic (lol) journey through this election throughout all of your topics, Colin and Greg Lives and called certain individuals out on things that weren't right, correct etc. But the amount of personal growth I've seen from everyone at your table throughout the election cycle being displayed on today's video is absolutely amazing. It is important to not let go of that growth, keep growing and keep being involved, learning and so on. Specifically Tim. I think it took a very large amount of humility to admit all the things about yourself on this video that you have and I'm beyond proud of how much you have grown throughout this election. There's something to say about people who can't backup their own opinions with facts, but if you feel right with the decisions you make in correlation to your own views and beliefs, that is the most important part as well as continuing to grow and learn.
Seeing the Young Turds...I mean Turks go from happy and cocky to we lost it all was AMAZING. Their mood changed so drastically. I've watched it about 5 times now and it never gets old.
i only heard about the turks when the woman was defending fat people from fat shaming, only for her to yell "fat fuck" at someone some time later xD But yea, i think watching cocky people fall is always entertaining.
When Trump won she told women that voted for him that she has no respect for them. That they're stupid or pieces of shit or something like that. Ana whatever the fuck her name is, like most of the young turds, are hypocrites. They dont care about anyone.
because he's finally said something that isn't totally unusual and incredibly impactful. I don't like his opinions but he seems like a nice guy and today he won me over
Aeons of Blight - Why would that happen, when Tim is the only one who predicted Trump would win? How does Colin get credit for being right even when he's dead ass wrong?
In the beginning, Colin said that the science of polling is sound. Polling works. It's just collecting a representative sample that makes it hard. But that argument was meaningless. Collecting a representative sample IS the science of polling. It is polling. Otherwise, it's a single question with maybe some demographic/lifestyle identifiers. Sampling (collecting a representative sample of the entire US) is why polling is fundamentally broken.
JSF 7 I've been there before... don't get it today as much. but he's inconsistent...defends Obama running on hope but doesn't hold him accountable for not achieving his goals. Then a few minutes later says Trump claiming he'll get them jobs is misleading to his voters because he's not going to get it done. inconsistent argument. Same story, different party.
Go look at some facts. Obama actually did achieve many of his goals. Much of what was left got tied up by the Republican congress which you may remember shut down twice because they either couldn't agree or anything or weren't able to compromise. I have nothing against Republicans but there's been a trend of Republicans being a bit too stubborn when it comes to dealing with the Democrats. Other promises, as you'll find, ended in compromise rather than exactly what he wanted. You act as if he didn't try, he did, but because this isn't a dictatorship there's only so much any president can do when the other parts of the government don't agree.
Chris B. I hear your argument, I was echoing the discussion in the video. Many of Obama's goals of change were not achieved as well, also undeniable. Also, we'll see how willing to cooperate the Democrats are, just to have parity in our arguments. As Colin notes, they have filibuster potential still. Second, I never said Obama didn't achieve anything. As Tim, you blame the system, even as Obama had the congress on his 'side' (as will Trump). But, take a step back man, this isn't a right/wrong he did good stuff he didn't do good stuff argument, rather it's holding your principles and standards to each party, which Tim/Nick/you did not. It's up to us to hold them accountable, not apologize for their shortcomings. I am trying to approach this from an objective standpoint. It's of course in our favor if the branches work as they're supposed to and do what's right for the population.
Colin is immensely egotistical. Anyone that doesn't bow their head to him and say he's right becomes his greatest enemy. He says he's an academic that tries to look at both sides, but all he does is claim he's right and everyone's wrong because he's grown up with everyone telling him he's a genius.
Review Skadoo No, it's Tim in particular that creates that specific expression in Colin's demeanor. If it was Greg or Nick Colin seems a little more interested in what they have to say. Colin takes everything Tim says as baby talk. As he should.
Hah, so turns out that when I said was waiting for an hour and a half long discussion on the election for the GoG Show, I was actually just ten minutes off :P. You always deliver, KF crew :).
Heat55wade3 you mean the system that's been broken for over 200 years? You mean the system that's keeps getting more and more refined as we go on? You don't fix things by telling people who don't agree with you to get out. What are you North Korean? Smh
It's not that Tim doesn't believe in the system, he perpetrates exactly the stereotype he has of everyone and contributes to the broken system by voting without much knowledge of what he's voting on. He said he researched the ballot like few days or a week before the election. When he voted for other people like Scott Wiener, he said he researched them for an hour. He even said later on in this episode that he doesn't know anything about Trump's politics, but he "knows people" so I guess that a gut decision is better than an informed one, right? He claims everyone is uneducated and doesn't know what to vote for and does it himself.
Lol you're still watching their political discussions? I stopped primarily because of Tim (Greg, too as he is a bit of a SJW himself). I'm only here to read the comments.
Tim reminds me of me, three years ago. very liberal, very progressive. Those are good things, but as he gets older, he'll gain more perspective and - maybe - start to understand how annoying and infuriating the "micro-trigger", safe space, overly sensitive generation is to the rest of the country. I voted for it TWICE with Obama when I was younger, against it this election via voting for Johnson. I think Tim's perspective will be a lot different post age 30. Guess we'll see. Main point being: grown adults hate that a huge portion of our country whines, complains, bitches, and feels sorry for themselves. That they get offended by everything. it's annoying, as FUCK. Love the show, as always. Good conversation, guys.
Disagreeing with progressives on cultural issues is one thing, but economic/policy issues is another thing. I'm a progressive who's irritated by all the SJWs who find new things to get outraged over every day, but that doesn't erase my progressive stances on economics, politics, and social issues to join the other side...
I think Tim doesn't realize that people's criticism stems from the fact that he speaks with an air of arrogance in addition to not knowing what he's talking about. It shows in how touchy he was in that little monologue. Seems like he's maybe opened up a bit, but I fear his bubble won't get much bigger if he stays on that Buzzfeed and Huffpo. lol
Very true, but Colin also speaks with an air of arrogance and, while very articulate and knowledgable about history, speaks definitively on things that are most certainly NOT definite.
What annoys me the most is that's he's openly ignorant, like he's says he doesn't know what you maybe going through and he doesn't care. He's trying but he always contradicts himself and get mad
I think it's just the way he talks that I find annoying. I don't know how to describe this but he talks like some Asians do and I don't mean that in a racist way whatsoever. I think passive aggressiveness is the right term. Like listen to the way Nick talks and you just want to listen to him and Tim is sorta tense when he speaks. At 1:00:07 you just wanna punch him
People in the comments getting 10, 20, 30 likes bashing Tim without even watching the video, embarassing. He killed it today, I wonder if they will listen to what Colin said about the way Tim's been treated the last few weeks. Probably not though, oh well. #LetTimHost
Tim is honestly the most refreshing and best part of the whole conversation. I also appreciate Colin being honest but more subdued than some of his other C&G rants where he just ridicules people without much factual information at his disposal.
Yea. Sorry to take a high brow convo to a low brow place but damn she is attractive. haha. Very well spoken too. Give her a discount next time she wants to come back.
Normally Tim isn't my favorite on these topics. But it really feels like he took the time to educate himself with things. We have very different views Tim. But holy hell did I appreciate your opinion this video. Mattered a lot to me, and I'm excited to hear your views moving forward!
This is a great episode to revisit. I'm still digging KF but I do miss Colin quite a bit, he rounded out the different voices in their group just perfectly.
Its sad how toxic the community is about him, this episode and the episode where he talks about it before the election are both so civil, Greg seems super engaged etc Colin leaving the party and shit talking trump the whole time but now if you bring him up in the community they act like hes a nazi, its so fucking weird
I'm a gay white man from Colorado that voted for Trump. I'm glad Colin bought up the stuff about the concern about trump and gay people, I've never seen a concern about rights for gay people from him personally. Tim, I loved your thoughts. glad to hear them.
Yea. As a conservative/libertarian leaning repub who DID NOT want trump in the primaries... I was always confused at the 'homophobe' accusation. I can see how you make the jump to racist from his 'mexico ships us their criminals' remark. But homophobe? Last I knew, he invited Caitlyn Jenner to Trump tower to use whatever bathroom he/she wanted. I assume liberals are just used to calling everyone racist/bigot/homophobe... so once they label them racists, the homophobe label just kind of slips out naturally.
I dont like it as much as the next person.....but seeing people protesting by burning American flags is just beyond stupid. Its done.....accept it.....pray trump doesn't do anything drastic
I can get foreigners burning the American flag, but Americans burning it, while not being anarchists or violent revolutionists, just makes no utter sense, considering it's a symbol of the nation, which includes the one doing the burning. Much better to burn symbols of political parties or pictures of political candidates or just about anything else to get your point across.
Yeah praying he won't do something drastic isn't going to effect anything. If Trump tries to make this country go backwards on social issues, he is going to opposed by endless protests. That's just the truth. His victory has awakened many people. Hopefully they stay woke.
Lincoln Vamos Because it's a symbol of the totality of the nation. Burning it is an action against the US as a nation state, which symbolically can be viewed as "burning it down", that is an aggressive action against the country itself. There's also the patriotic emotions connected to the flag as well, with a lot of lives given to protect the flag and its symbolism as the totality of the US. That's why I said it makes more sense for foreigners or people who actively work against the nations state, like violent revolutionaries or anarchists.
This was a really real episode. Thanks to all of you guys. Tim's speech in the middle was great. If anyone hasn't seen the Colin and Greg live from the day after the election watch it, its pretty great.
People need to lay off on the Tim criticism. I've agreed and disagreed with plenty of things each of the guys have said before but everyone need to respect eachothers opinions
Colin is over stating Romney's candidacy. I don't remember hearing Mitt Romney being called Mussolini and I'm not saying it never happened but if it did, it was quite low on the radar. What I do remember is Mitt Romney coming across as disconnected from the working man. Trump (like many president's before him) convinced the public he is just like them. Romney did not.
There were a lot of statements that Romney made that were taken way out of context and twisted to sound like he meant something completely different and horrible.
jlindsa But the dems did try and label Romney as a racist, they tried the same tactic this time around, it's just that we didn't fall for it. www.lifezette.com/polizette/democrats-racism-default/
They do it to everyone. Not just candidates. Anyone who disagrees is a racist, bigot, homophobe. Every time. It eventually backfired and that's why we have Trump. I assume he will be a 1 term president, but he may not be if the left doesn't learn. They're in the streets rioting, assaulting, etc. The rest of America, especially the 'neutral' American who isn't already left or right... sees stuff like that and realizes how immature it is. This is what pushed people to Trump in the first place and if they keep it up, it may get him re elected.
People crying over this result, we've had it for months in Britain over Brexit. These sorts of people wanna see the country fail just to see themselves right.
This was the best post election breakdown I have seen yet! I think they did a great job of not being too partisan. Also Miss Movies is awesome. She needs to be back on The Film Vault!
Dunno why the algorithm showed this to me in 2021 but man, it sure is quaint hearing how the 2016 election was the nastiest. Or predictions of what Trump would be like. Or Colin saying that he thinks Biden would have beat Trump. And especially Colin complaining about all the “crybabies out there contesting the results of the election”. God help the commenter that shows up in 2024 to respond to me about how quaint my comment is.
it's nice as hell to get to listen to people talk about politics and not just yell at each other. You can even hear that on the major news channels. A tip of the hat to the Kinda Funny guys for their election coverage
Don't listen to the haters Tim. I've been watching the Podcast for a while now so I've seen the evolution of the show, and the set -- and you as well. You've come a long way since some of the earlier shows. Not only have you taken the time to become more informed about these topics, but you've explored the psychology of the deeper issues behind them as well. To be honest, there was a time when I didn't take your input that seriously on the more in-depth topics. But over time, you've really earned your spot at that table. It's been pretty cool to witness you finding your own unique voice in the group. And now, I look forward to hearing your opinion just as much as the others, if not even more sometimes. Just wanted you to know there are people out there who do see the work you've put in. I'm proud of you man.
Who woulda thunk? Screaming, crying, rioting, looting, and then turning around and telling anyone who doesn't fall in line they are intolerant bigots eventually backfires.
GlockGuy1926 Trump lost the popular vote by over 2 MILLION+ votes so it's really not a victory it's a STOLEN ELECTION. You really should curb your enthusiasm.
Imhotep Osiris It'd be cool if your response actually had something to do with my OP. I get liberals like to pretend laws and rules don't exist whenever they don't like the outcome... but that's how the electoral college works. Don't like it? Amend the constitution. I said nothing about the popular vote, and I'm definitely not enthusiastic about Trump winning. You really should try not talking out of your ass.
Gotta give respect to Tim. He came off a lot more coherent and mature here than he was on the previous political episode. Agreed with a lot of his points.
Nakatomi Power I think he made some very insightful and self awareness contributions here. Colin was right yet again. insulting people got us where we are today. Instead we need to be engaging in meaningful discussion and civilly amd honestly debate ideas. That is how this should go. Insults without arguments just prove you don't have an argument to make.
As much as I don't care to have political discussions, I'm always fascinated by the ones you guys have. Mad respect for you guys. This was a fantastic topic. Also, keep doin' you, Colin. And Tim, you rock, don't ever change.
this is probably the best podcast about the election I've listened to guys! kudos. I know you're not a general news network but I appreciate the level of knowledge and perspective you all bring to the table. all the best!
I don't usually comment, but I have got to say that this episode impressed me on many levels. It was great to hear everybodies opinion on this, yet being completely civil. Collin has always proven to be well spoken and very knowledgable on the subject of politics, so there was no dissapointment here. I have to give a huge shout out to Tim. He was very well spoken and had things to back himself up. While I disagree with a lot of his views, I could easily see where he was coming from.
Sucks to hear that Tim gets so much heat when talking about politics. So I just wanted to say that though I don't always agree with Tim, just like I don't always agree with Colin, or Greg, or Nick... his input and opinion is always welcome and I thought he was great this episode. In the wise words of the most interesting man in the world.. I don't always agree with Tim. But when I do, it's cuz he's the homie.
Saw this topic in my feed and had to wait until I was emotionally ready to sit and watch it. Was totally engaged and really appreciated the mature conversation. Though I disagree with some of Colin's views, as smart as he is, I appreciate him, and I also appreciate Tim's feelings and what Greg added, too. This was really good guys. Props.
When they started talking about being a fly on the wall in a room, all i could think about was being a fly on the wall in the Kinda Funny Studio March 8th 2017...
As much as I respect Colin for what he has to say, because he clearly does know what he's talking about, he just comes off smug as hell. He said 'i told you guys' so many times and i'm only 30 minutes through part 1, idk, just gives off a vibe (not just in this video, but a fair few others lately) where it seems like he thinks he's better than everyone else. Like you can be more educated than people on topics, you don't have to constantly remind them how better you are in regards to certain things constantly. And before the end of the election he told everyone to be gracious in defeat and then after the news that Trump won he kind of shat on Democrats (he can say whatever he wants because he didn't vote for Trump or whatever but clearly time and place and fresh wounds etc no need for I told you so's so soon - ref to Max Scoville's reactions and Danny O'Dwyer telling him to chill) so I thought that was a bit hypocritical. Kind of making it hard to watch kinda funny content with him in it now, hopefully these feels pass though as you guys have gotten me through some times. (just to mention i'm Australian with no horse in the US presidential race, just as someone who hates arrogance to any extent)
I think the point that Colin didn't hammer in entirely about the media was that it wasn't just the news networks that had it in for Clinton. We had condescending ads coming out of Hollywood from celebrities and directors signalling their virtue on us repeatedly. Of course I respect our first amendment right to free speech, and if I had a platform I might communicate my views once in a while- but I'd never try to project onto an audience like they did. The Hollywood class assumed that the average American cares about their stance on immigration. There was a fantastic moment on Jimmy Kimmel back during the Republican primaries where Ted Cruz brought up wanting to repeal Obamacare- and Kimmel smugly insinuated that Americans don't really have a problem with it. Cruz smartly and sharply responded by saying something along the lines that 'maybe here in Hollywood Obamacare isn't a problem, for the actors and media companies. But talk to small businesses across the country where Obamacare stopped them from hiring or being able to afford more employees on payroll.' The funny thing is that the audience applauded Kimmel and didn't receive Cruz nearly as warmly. And that's also part of the reason people were so surprised about Trump. The media bubble is two things: an echo chamber, and a reliable source of comforting confirmation bias. What I recommend is we stop treating Hollywood like gods. They already get paid and treated like royalty. But for the most part, they're just entertainers. Sure, support some of their activist causes- but we can't keep acting like their opinion is holier than ours.
Greg's absolutely right to point out Colin's hypocrisy. With one breath Colin tells people not to denigrate or make assumptions about Trump voters, or that hyperbole led to Trump's win; with the next he makes huge sweeping generalizations about Clinton supporters/liberals and the protesters. When challenged, Colin immediately dismisses it or changes the subject. He does it every time. The second he's pulled up on his hypocrisy (say, when Greg comments on Colin's own ego and endless self aggrandizing), he acts offended and tells him to stop being "mean". It's infuriating, what he gets away with on here and with the KF community.
and people kind of just let him because there is no counter to him, I mean i love Kevin, Tim and Greg but they aren't very good at arguing the more Liberal side of things.
I am so happy the Kinda Funny team took this much time to talk about the election results. I want to hear from people who care about politics at this point. Collin cares a lot and he's also getting the other members engaged. These are valuable perspectives and we need more. People need to be more informed and be able to confidently understand what their options are. More awareness, more conversation, less fear about "social taboos". That's how we get out of these situations where nobody feels like they can accomplish anything.
"I wanted to start, then I'm gonna kick it to you guys. Then when you are wrong about things, and you are going to be, I will jump in and let you know."
Classic Colin
Colin is the only one to listen to on political topics.
10:50 in case anyone's looking.
I'm pretty sure he had it based on his last debate with that satanist supporter Kevin. He came prepared lol
NasIsLike Satanist supporter Kevin should be a shirt
***** The thing is he's right almost all of the time. Politics is his thing, so most people should probably listen to him.
I love how Tim acts like the smartest one in the room, while also being the dumbest in the room.
I can't wait to watch... I just started this video
and you must be the god of politics
kevintemido he's probably not, but he also doesn't pretend to be, unlike tim.
lol? he says "at least now i'm a bit more informed" "i appreciate the people out there who see that i'm trying" so idk where you're getting that he thinks hes the smartest one in the room
What planet do you come from* were the translation is done so bad that you hear Tim's words to think that he's talking himself up.. wth.
I think it's time Colin has his own show on politics.
Bryce Sipes I listened to this just to here his oppinon. I don't care about the other generic, brain- washed democratic social justice warrior, pie in sky views from the others.
*politics and history
Bryce Sipes I think he'd get bored if he did it all the time
Bryce Sipes I don't think we need more Colin idolatry in this community.
If you havent seen Colin and Kevin go back and forth on the twitch stream the day of the election i highly suggest you do... got pretty heated!
BallerVisions Kevin was arguing that Clinton didn't do anything wrong and it baffled me. Love my boy kev but come on.
yeah! I understood where he was coming from but he lost me there too. Kev did pretty good tho vs colin who we know is super quick with the info lol
BallerVisions can you post a link to it pleas??
www.twitch.tv/kindafunnygames/v/100051522
thanks cecil
I agree with Colin, not even a big fan of Trump, but watching the media that night eat the fucking crow and just be in complete and utter shock on live TV and in the stories online. Was immensely satisfying.
I hate Trump but watching Clinton shills crying and bitching was my favourite part.
why?
omichron420 Because they're dishonest and chose to support a corrupt, unelectable candidate with more scandals than policy ideas.
"eat the fucking crow", I have to say I have never heard that one before but it's great.
Be fair they were both all of those things
Colin talking about politics for an hour and nineteen minutes. I'm a happy man
Tim was okay at the start , but around the 1hour mark was he basically saying "shame on you for my ignorance"
carmine-james guglielmucci to me it felt more like he was saying: "Shame on you for your ignorance, ya hypocrite. At least I can admit I'm hella ignorant." Maybe just a tiny bit of paraphrasing.
That moment when you realize that the GameOverGreggy Show, has less bias and more adult conversations about politics, than most TV news networks. Good job guys.
So when is the Colin politic podcast coming?
I would listen to that for sure.
Have you listened to Washington's Beard?
We have to say we don't want to have a specific show where Colin talks about history and politics so that he does it lol
Dylan P We have it buddy.
Oh shit its Indeimaus! I didn't expect to see you on a KF video; I just associate you so much with NL aha
This is it. This is the episode.
Was about to go to sleep but fuck that.
Juan Ramirez shit i'm currently in this decision atm
Im in the same boat lol
Juan Ramirez sleep is for the weak
I just woke up haha
Hahahahahaha
Colin is the reasonable and honest portion of this ensemble. Didn't vote for either, and if the points he's making were addressed, maybe we could have all been honest and said that you don't ever have to vote for the lesser of two evils, it's still evil.
That's true, but protest votes (or non-votes) don't really do anything. If you actually want to affect the system you should fight for systemic change through actual protest and action, not by sitting out of the electoral process. Our electoral system makes it virtually impossible for a third party to rise through popular vote, there has to be outside change to the system before you can have more parties.
But then Gary Johnson's VP is a Clinton supporter
This comment has not aged well...
@@tommiller5505 how so? he remains honest. Reasonable too. Doesn't go about calling people Nazis or snowflakes.
@@tommiller5505i mean, it did. Colin is still reasonable and balanced, and one of the best commentators in the space.
I have to just remember Tim doesn't educate himself on all things politics and not to hate him for anything he might say
Tyler Roach It's gonna be tough.
Best looking PC game of ALL time in your opinion? Just built a new gaming PC for the first time, looking to run the absolute BEST looking game of all time.
I would appreciate your input Baytuh.
JohnnyBoy101 dude run BF1 Battlefront Metro Last light Crysis 3 and Witcher 3 and skyrim modded to hell
You would "hate" someone based on their knowledge of politics?! Wow nice guy.
They dont care about anyone.
lol I remember one of the said "I care about the American people" then months later berates them
your a lot of fun aren't you
The Young Turks lost back when Bernie lost.
They never really cared about Hillary.
TYK is a progressive show. Hillary is anything but Progressive.
Damn all the Tim defenders are out in full force today. Where were you guys he's been getting destroyed in the comments all year.
because he's finally said something that isn't totally unusual and incredibly impactful. I don't like his opinions but he seems like a nice guy and today he won me over
I came to see Tim get triggered by Colin.
So, you're disappointed?
Aeons of Blight - Why would that happen, when Tim is the only one who predicted Trump would win? How does Colin get credit for being right even when he's dead ass wrong?
And Colin isn't biased? Are you insane? Colin dedicated most of his life to the Republican party, and it shows.
Aeons of Blight same lol
Tim looks like such a bitch in this video
polling does not work when 92% of all those polled say 'no thank you" and hang up
TheGeniuschrist That's basic statistics, voluntary polling and expect it to be accurate.
i just don't think that expectation still exists.
TheGeniuschrist also doesnt work when you force others to hide who they are truly voting for by labeling them horrible things.
those who look past horrible things, are horrible people.
I can't stand Tim for the most part but I don't get how some people think he's trying to act like he is smart in this part of the video.
Because they're angry kids like Colin and they agree with him and not Tim.
It's of course in our favor if the branches work as they're supposed to and do what's right for the population.
colin is the most intellectual badass ive ever seen, his debative personality is incredible and every time he talks is gold and hard to argue with
Colin definitely gets low-key annoyed as fuck when Tim cuts him off in the middle of his sentence to listen to his 2 cents.
Tim, if you don't believe in the system, then get out.
You act like a child when Colin says anything you don't want to hear.
Heat55wade3
You call Tim a child and yet you want him to get out ...
LoL stfu.
I think this notion that all Liberals are SJWs is a sort of strange strawman, that has apparently become the norm in America now. How come?
The older I get the more socialist I become.
Disagreeing with progressives on cultural issues is one thing, but economic/policy issues is another thing. I'm a progressive who's irritated by all the SJWs who find new things to get outraged over every day, but that doesn't erase my progressive stances on economics, politics, and social issues to join the other side...
Our Republican President-Elect is calling for safe spaces and apologies on Twitter, and it's liberals who are the problem? Ha.
I think Tim doesn't realize that people's criticism stems from the fact that he speaks with an air of arrogance in addition to not knowing what he's talking about. It shows in how touchy he was in that little monologue. Seems like he's maybe opened up a bit, but I fear his bubble won't get much bigger if he stays on that Buzzfeed and Huffpo. lol
Ultimate Warrior Huh?
At 1:00:07 you just wanna punch him
Let's see, sleep or listen to Colin on the election?
I WILL SLEEP WHEN IM DEAD
Great topic, proud to see the change in Tim and not be afraid to say what he thinks
As a Muslim, who has lots of friends studying or planning to study in America, I'm horrified of the future. I really am.
This popped up in my feed and my heart sank.
People in the comments getting 10, 20, 30 likes bashing Tim without even watching the video, embarassing. He killed it today, I wonder if they will listen to what Colin said about the way Tim's been treated the last few weeks.
Probably not though, oh well. #LetTimHost
Linton Singarayer were is that video?
Linton Singarayer lol never mind found it.
Tim is honestly the most refreshing and best part of the whole conversation. I also appreciate Colin being honest but more subdued than some of his other C&G rants where he just ridicules people without much factual information at his disposal.
Absolutely much respect for callong out the B.S
Yea I love tim and his remarks even on games when he puts his 2 cents in
I was foaming at the mouth waiting for this segment!!! LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!!!
Ireland: "Trump to the left of me, Brexit to the right. Here I am, stuck in the middle with you"
Saw the length of the video and I thought they accidentally uploaded the full show XD
Been waiting since the election for this - ANOTHER GUEST? FUCK
She's awesome! What are you talking about?
KF community is so unwelcoming sometimes....
I thought she was Nataly Portman for a sec lol
+di0, same here lol
Yea. Sorry to take a high brow convo to a low brow place but damn she is attractive. haha. Very well spoken too. Give her a discount next time she wants to come back.
Yeah. I thought she was pretty easy on the eyes. But hey, that's just my opinion...
47:09-47:30 Find someone that looks at you the way miss movies looks at Nick
Here comes round 2
kinda wish there wasn't a guest for this topic I don't want them to hold anything back
Tyler Roach I liked this guest, she had things to say that added to the discussion. Liked hearing her stance on education as a teacher
I liked it. they stayed more professional and we got a hour and 20 minutes of real political talk
Normally Tim isn't my favorite on these topics. But it really feels like he took the time to educate himself with things. We have very different views Tim. But holy hell did I appreciate your opinion this video. Mattered a lot to me, and I'm excited to hear your views moving forward!
Ohhh I'm going to enjoy this.
i can already tell tim gettys is gonna be passive aggressive
"Bill Clinton go fuck off." LMFAO
This is a great episode to revisit. I'm still digging KF but I do miss Colin quite a bit, he rounded out the different voices in their group just perfectly.
Revisiting it in 2021. We were so young and naive about 2016 being nasty.
I miss Colin and it’s sad that he won’t ever be back in any KF content again
Its sad how toxic the community is about him, this episode and the episode where he talks about it before the election are both so civil, Greg seems super engaged etc
Colin leaving the party and shit talking trump the whole time but now if you bring him up in the community they act like hes a nazi, its so fucking weird
@@MrJagermeister Ditto in 2024!
Tims shirt is a mix of nostalgia reminding me of roccos modern life and saved by the bell
Usually criticise Tim when it comes to politics but he was very level headed today, 10/10 boi
Holy shit, Tim had it rough.
How ironic that Colin stood up for Tim in this, but when Colin REALLY needed it Tim shit all over Colin.
Over an hour long topic... oh shit guys, we're in for a doozy. Brace yourselves.
Hopefully they stay woke.
.
Proud of you Tim. You've come a long way since episode 148. Much love.
What we have been waiting for
Just got my wisdom teeth pulled like literally an hour ago so I'm a little coked out. Thank you Kinda Funny and thank you best friends
Hopefully tim and kevin are rational this time round.....
and tim was
kudos
I have been waiting for this topic and I want to watch, but this show is my morning commute. I need them in the morning to give me a pick-me-up.
I've always been a Tim fan, but learning about his dad after losing my dad the same way recently just made me like him even more. ❤️
Skepticism isn't shaming.
Exactly.
LOVE LOVE LOVE how Tim has to turn this topic into a topic about his life.
Shoutout to Greg for calling Colin out for not being consistent about the tolerance.
Glad they recorded this out of order.
Colin, I appreciate you standing up for Tim. I'm glad I watched this episode.
"Every family yells, and it drives me insane." Greg - "IF YOU DIDNT KNOW THIS IS THE GAMEOVER GREGGY SHOW!!!!"
Old comment but Crosses is great, love all of Chinos' work.
Gotta give respect to Tim. He came off a lot more coherent and mature here than he was on the previous political episode. Agreed with a lot of his points.
Yo Tim, that monologue was amazing. Thank you
Give Tim a participation medal.
give you the awesome sarcastic comment medal
Nakatomi Power I think he's gotten enough of those already.
And Tim, you rock, don't ever change.
didnt know tims dad died of a heroin overdose, damn. my dad died when i was 12
I was also brought to KindaFunny by the Max Landis episode. Thanks, Max!
UA-cam algorithm served me up this classic. As always Colin was right
this is probably the best podcast about the election I've listened to guys! kudos. I know you're not a general news network but I appreciate the level of knowledge and perspective you all bring to the table. all the best!
Can someone post time stamps of when Colin is speaking so I can skip over everyone else?
Great guest. She was a absolute delightful .
Democracy is the worst form of government except for all the others. - Winston Churchill
Austin Long thank you, Churchill was a great speaker and insperational man in some ways but there's no denying he had a darker sides.
Good idea. Let's not give the population a choice; that'll make things MUCH better.
Nick's subtle "Scott Baio" at 6:54 made my day
Man I miss the good ol Kinda Funny days. When they didn’t cater to 12 year olds, and didn’t turn their backs on Colin over a stupid joke. Good times.
100% it’s amazing how much the show has changed. For some reason these are being recommended to me again on my feed. Colin REALLY WAS RIGHT. 😂
Couldn't agree more with Colin. He knows his stuff.
(just to mention i'm Australian with no horse in the US presidential race, just as someone who hates arrogance to any extent)
we love you Tim . you do you!
They start talking about Trump at 11:00
God damn. That Marvel comment from Tim at the end was so unexpected and was absolute comedy gold.
Damn, can we get the Tim Gettys documentary after Greg
The Colin-Tim/Kevin respect is what this country needs. Listening and maybe disagreeing, but being okay with it.
49:10 low key the best moment from Tim ever on the show
I think the point that Colin didn't hammer in entirely about the media was that it wasn't just the news networks that had it in for Clinton.
It's infuriating, what he gets away with on here and with the KF community.
borsanvannah Colin makes good points a lot but I completely agree with this
and people kind of just let him because there is no counter to him, I mean i love Kevin, Tim and Greg but they aren't very good at arguing the more Liberal side of things.
