Buy a car and insist that the payments for it are coming out of her rent, meaning that even if she never touched it, he was going to keep lording over her what a favor he did for her... plus, when she left, he would STILL sue her for "leaving with incomplete payments". This is some obvious abuse of authority. To simplify this bullshit down to a more normal-sounding example, this is like when your mother comes into your house and plops down a casserole and says she made you and your kids dinner, so you can show how grateful you are by giving her a ride to and from the outlet mall this weekend. Even if the man was a fool to do what he did, it is just nice as a human to pay your toll fees and DUIs when you drive the car. I wouldn’t do that to a stranger who has helped me.
Most likely because it wasn't. The car all and all was bought expressly for her and he knew she had it with his permission. If she exceeded that permission, what he should've done is take the keys back or, sue her for its return as soon as she left with it, but reporting stolen won't do because as I said, it wasn't stolen. To simplify this bullshit down to a more normal-sounding example, this is like when your mother comes into your house and plops down a casserole and says she made you and your kids dinner, so you can show how grateful you are by giving her a ride to and from the outlet mall this weekend. Most likely because it wasn't. The car all and all was bought expressly for her and he knew she had it with his permission.
