Wonderful footage Mark! That catch at 9:40 was quite something!

Mhm, at least we still have a few operational 071s in this livery.

Hugely impressive rate of speed from 124 on that (admittedly short!) push-pull. Wow.

The last few years of a proper, interesting railway. Now, the railway is so boring. There's very little character left in the railway now

spotted the "failed" Sligo train locomotive. Amazing that these locos rarely if ever failed on other routes at the same rate as they failed on the Sligo line. Not much has changed at IE management level. They treat Sligo line passengers with utter contempt.

Any idea what the full rake of mk3s were doing over in Connolly? Inbound GAA special perhaps, it looks to have gone back over to Heuston as empties.

That’s crazy a 121 pushing at speed? I didn’t think that would be permitted

1:42 A 121 pushing, very nice, the lack of visibility didn't slow him down one bit.

MkIIIs on a Sligo service? I'm sure that was rare!

According to Video 125's Dublin to Sligo drivers eye view, which was from 2004, they said that the MK2 coaches were in their last year or two of service on the Sligo service, because the Dublin-Cork service were receiving new coach stock (MK4's) which meant there would be more MK3 coaches for use and the MK2 would be scrapped. The MK3's didn't last long though, not even 20 years old some of them, 25 years old at the very most. Such a waste of good coach stock.

There are CIE 071 class locomotives, you will know them by their dual cabs, and pushing at around 1:40 was a 121. They are no longer in service.
