Amazing that despite the passing of so many years, they were able to slip into 'the old routine' with the same timing and genius of those great 80's sketches. Marvellous.
I do miss you Mel. Thank you for your natural genius especially in the 80s when you got us out of the old comedy circuit. And changed things for the better for a new generation. Always watch the reruns .
What a great loss, such a laugh in the NTNON with Rowan ,Pamela and Griff. I really hope youngsters look at Mel Smiths material and take note what a talented comedian, actor and writer he has, one of the best. R.I.P Mel xx.
It's rare for a classic to go out on a high, as usually these reunions are feeble and insipid. Here, though, they picked up right where they left off. A fitting tribute. "It's an excellent cheese"....
I used to love those head to heads with Mel and Griff. Watching their last one was a mixture of laughing at the conversation, (My Chantelle is 30 now and a Grandma) made me chuckle, but it was tinged with sadness knowing Mel had died. Also, the humour today seems more aimed towards foul mouthed utterances and very questionable jokes. English comedy is so much different now and I'm sad to say, I don't find it funny. SAD.
You old bugga Jumbo ha ! What good times . If you haven't watched filthy rich & cat flap please do comedy brilliance with Mel Smith as Jumbo whiffy what a lovely funny guy r.i.p. 😆😆😆
4:30, can someone please take my missis's business card off that phonebox wall FFS?, we've been mofoing married for 3 years - Epithany only works Sunday nights, and only ever with her teeth OUT.
sometimes he sounds well and sometimes he doesn't but he really doesn't look good stall. horrible morbid I know but I really don't like seeing Mel like this
Sad to see Mel in poor health here, but at least we had this one final laugh with him and Griff before he passed. He will never be forgotten.

What a great gift they had.

brilliant line and Mel barely managed to stop himself from laughing at that point
Most under-rated comedians ever.
Loved the "camaraderie" gag, even Mel couldn't contain that one.
"He's paying." Brilliant. RIP Mel
"If its taught me anything, its the value of camaraderie"
"Its a lovely cheese"
XD
Brilliant! And Mel almost lost it too! 🤣
And that camaraderie really was the most excellent cheese
they worked extremely well together - mel was special
These two fitted together like whiskey and soda PERFECT a sad loss
RIP Mel Smith
Rest in peace Mel smith you were a legend at comedy and acting
Great comedy duo enjoyed everything they did including Wilt.
For me, the wonderful head to head sketches were the standout part of Alas Smith and Jones
The head to heads were strong enough to carry a full half hour weekly show on their own.
Mel’s cameo in National Lampoons European Adventure. A must see !!
(His poor old Mum 😁)
Great classic comedy that will last forever.😀
rip smith, should`ve been here atleast 20 years more :/
The Brits know comedy. RIP Mel.
....alas....
They never changed...
Mel suffered in later years with Pharyngitis, which is inflammation of the back of the throat. One of its symptoms is a hoarse voice.
Oh man, that musta been terrible
@@jeffstone2136 It is, I think Red Rum suffered from it, he had a horse voice too.😋😉
This sounds like an exchange the talking heads would have had.
@@jcee6886 "It's a real nightmare."
He was addicted to painkillers. Sad.

awesome, Mel nearly lost it at 'its a lovely cheese'
"See you in 16 years then?" Kinda ominous when you think about it.
You old bugga Jumbo ha ! What good times . If you haven't watched filthy rich & cat flap please do comedy brilliance with Mel Smith as Jumbo whiffy what a lovely funny guy r.i.p. 😆😆😆
Sad t see Mel struggling here. Easy to see he is not well despite his brave effort.
Camaraderie. Mel almost breaks😂
Smith and Jones - The Last Head-to-Head 2144pm 19.9.22 very very very very very funny. i kid you not.
and a year later Mel was gone RIP
Two great comedy duo’s here. Mel looks so thin here, and it was a sad day when Mel was taken away far to early in his life.
Quite sad to see Mel like this! He will be missed.😢
Pity about the aspect ratio.

Poor Mel can’t breathe through his nose here.
It would be wonderful to share.
Don't post crap in the hope of third party glory.

This is quite painful to watch tbh.
