    To save yourself from over working your equipment. When plowing heavy wet snow. Plow your curb line first then move your center over..

    Tires make a huge difference. For snow plowing, my preference would be for more of an all terrain type tread pattern. Back in 2013 when we had similar weather, I was driving an 1985 Nissan 2wd pickup - V6 / 5 speed manual - mounted Firestone Winterforce radial snow tires, & just a steel contractor cap for weight. I was driving thru snow up to the bumper, the tires were like velcro. I only got stuck twice - when I was frame deep in snow, then stopped & attempted to back up. When I got the truck moving, it was nearly unstoppable.

    Really? Disappointed? it's a recreational ATV... not a snowplow. Snow with higher moisture content is VERY different & heavier... often called Heart Attack snow.... the ATV weighs the same as a Goldwing or Harley motorcycle & you're disappointed it's not plowing snow on gravel? sounds like your expectations are higher than the equipment is designed for. looks like it did just fine. try putting some salt/sand bags in back and or engaging the axle lock for better traction & use low range .. not high range. good way to burn up the drive belt in high range working it...that's why it has low range.

      Im in S.E. Mt & I have a Honda Pioneer 1000-5. I have 3 60# sandbags in the box, plow in 4wd and in low gear. The 2 big snow events we've had so far were not a problem at all.

      Thinking the same thing.....going too fast when plowing snow.....did not appear to be in low range. Still looked like it did okay to me even in those conditions! Just purchased the 2019 zforce 1000 with plow. Sweetheart deal from my brother (Thanks Kurt)! Picking up on Friday.

    Love winter! I'm not sure what aftermarket support is out there yet for CFMoto, but I bet clutching would help with snow plowing, as well as tires. 👍

    Couple of sandbags in the passenger footwell will make a difference and one sandbag in the rear bed. If the plow is not digging deep enough you can use a tractor weight on it to give some more downforce. If its digging too deep and still causing traction problems then drop the plow and give a bump up so its not all the way on the ground for the first passes. Also lower tire pressure will give you more traction. Let some out until you see a little squat in the tire. Many sxs run 14ish psi in the tires but you could probably drop to 8-10 to experiment. Just don't do any high speed runs in summer until you air back up.

    Wonder how their 1000cc uforce would do? It's a lot heavier I think, looked at one and was super beefy and the 3 wide bench seat was awesome. Can enclose it like a Kubota or tractor.

    I would highly recommend a set of snow chains, and/or winter ATV snow tires. I found only one company here in Canada that made winter tires for ATVs, but at least they are available. They have good tread for deep snow and sipes for adhering to ice. I currently plow my driveway with a Snowsport 180 plow kit mounted to the rear of my 2010 Audi TTS (Quattro AWD). I have a vid to show what that looks like. (It's nice to be in a warm car with heat, defrosters, and wipers with the radio playing my favourite music.) I can comfortably plow up to 30cms, and wet snow is not an issue. The way the Snowsport kit works, it doesn't dig into my dirt driveway, so no mounds of dirt on the side of my driveway in the spring. I was looking to buy a ZForce trail 2nd Gen next summer as a toy for when I retire. My brother has an 800EX that he has never had any trouble with. I was thinking I'd give it a shot as--in Canada--they come with about $5000 worth of accessories, and a 5yr warranty from the factory for the price of a base model of a big brand name SxS. Anyway, it looks like your ZForce did OK from what I can tell. Good luck with it. 👍

      I do understand that the chains would work great on my gravel driveway, but when it came to the asphalt I be afraid to chew it up.

  • @WoodsUnknown
    @WoodsUnknown Рік тому

    If you would have put it in 4x4 I bet you would have stayed in the zforce. The reason you love that Suzuki so much is the power to weight ratio is probably twice as strong as the zforce but you put a 1000cc engi e in it and it would do circles around the Suzuki. I find people forget how heavy side by sides are and that having small engines in them aren't the best idea. Thanks for sharing.

    Ive been dealing with the same very powdery wind blown compacted snow here in south dakota for last 4 days also. Packed so hard that plow wants to ride up on top of the snow. Stuff just doesnt plow very good. But my 800z been gettin it done. Even in -40 windchill with 40mph winds.

    I have a 03 Suzuki eiger with a plow and tracks and I can tell you it will push any kind of snow. It is my little work horse. I have a 2022 cforce 600 that I haven't setup yet for snow but it will get tracks and it'll be interesting to see if it can do what the eiger does.
    BTW tires suck for plowing just cant get the traction like tracks do.

      Its cold on BOTH sides, unlike a car where the heat inside warms it and the melts it on the outside. If it never warms up, the snow won't stick. Some people leave snow blowers and plow blades outside over night for the same reason.
