Michael Lemmo single handedly keeping classic rock alive. That's a whole lotta lovely LPC and a very beautiful glistening version of Stairway to Heaven with some cool Van Halen mixed in. GOTD has never sounded so good. Thanks for demoing this beauty of a guitar.
He's definitely super talented but there's lots of other people doing great things for rock and roll if you look for them
Agree that he's a great talent, but as much as I hate to say it - it's pretty clear that he doesn't actually know most of the classic tunes. He plays selected riffs, but that's about it. I still love to hear it! He's a huge EVH fan, and that shows in the completeness of his knowledge of the songs. I would hesitate to say that Mike is keeping classic rock alive. Long may he rock, but there's a line. 🙂👍

i’d imagine guitar store employees must be far more tired of hearing jokes about ‘no playing stairway to heaven!’ than they would be if someone just sat down and just playing stairway to any reasonable level of competence.
i might have saved stairway for a 12 string demo, but still sounds great and didn’t expect it on this guitar. rest was just icing on the cake

I believe my eardrums just melted , the best sounding guitar ever on GOTD , classic LP tone , crunch , and squeal , some kick ass Page and some screaming EVH , like thunder and lightning those tim shaw's rain down , and thru Lemmo's fingers create beautiful havoc and mayhem , a black beauty if there ever was one , the best possible way to make up for no strat on straturday , thanks guys.

I bought that exact guitar and case when I was 15 at Guitars Etc. in Seattle. I paid $1099.00. The best guitar I’ve ever owned. It’s got a lot of wear but it’s only gotten better with age. Gibson was building sold guitars in those days. I was really lucky to have saved enough to buy something this great and to still have it. I own over 50 guitars and if I could only keep one it would be this Les Paul. Not just for sentimental reasons, it just plays and sound so good. It could also be that it’s the guitar that I’ve learned how to play every song I know on?

In reading all these replies It’s safe to say Michael Lemo is a gifted guitarist.What I would love to hear is some of his compositions, the stuff you’d hear live at a club or just sitting around the kitchen table jamming. Then you’d really see his genus come out.✌️

I use to be a Les Paul guy but now I mainly go for a the es-355 and the fender telecaster. Best guitars of all time in my opinion. 🎸🎸🎸

There's a (not so) secret little trick to play the Whole Lotta Love riff correctly, and Joe Walsh from Eagles (whom Jimmy Page bought his 59 LP from back in the James Gang years) shows you how to do it, google it ;) Thanks Joe!

It’s 3:20 a.m.... I saw the GOTD notification on my phone, I decided to go ahead and get up and watch it while drinking an awesome caramel macchiato I made myself, while ML is giving that incredibly beautiful LP Custom a fantastic sounding workout and spread out on my kitchen table is a banjo I decided to try to change the ripped head on, which is way harder to do than I ever imagined... but life is good!!! Thank you ML and Jen!!!

True the optics of the whole sordid deal look really bad for Mark but time flows on by and there is more to the man than this momentary lapse of judgment ( maybe he should have told his new bosses this is a stupid idea, but would you have had the balls? ). Let's see how things pan out going forward. Myself, I'm rooting for him.
I have the same exact one in deep cheery red. Was a gift from my grandfather as well as with a old school mouse amp. Gotta teach myself hot to play it better.

86 is the same year of my Les Paul with Shaw's PAFs. The only guitar i true regret selling.
The only thing that I never understood is why that guitar was slight thicker than the average Les Paul.
