This is your personal reaction video and your commentary about the music is on point but I was waiting for you to address the lyrics and theme of the song, which he released last week along with a statement that he was dropping it early in solidarity with women in Iran and everyone impacted by the assault on reproductive rights in the US. The quiet reference to the Greek myth of Leda and the Swan also speaks volumes about Hozier’s intent - this is another powerful and moving protest song.. Hozier dropped this early in an effort to uplift women”s voices and raise funds and awareness for international women”s rights struggles. Even if you don”t make any additions or edits to the video itself, just sharing the names of the foundations Hozier said he would be donating to and his accompanying message would be very much appreciated. Thanks for reading.
I appreciate the feedback! So yes I agree that maybe being more educational would’ve been a great thing to include and is something I definitely want to work on including more in the reaction videos cause this honestly is a video where I mainly just give my opinion based off my feeling of the sound and production for first listen. I will say though it’s so awesome when I get to be educated about a great fact from you guys such as this comment. This is GREAT background research of the track and I really want to thank you for sharing this deep intel about the track because it’s one of the biggest reasons why I made the channel. I don’t want to come off as the guy that knows all, I really just want to connect with you guys with what I know and allow you, the audience, to also educate me or change my perspective. Again, REALLY love this comment this is fantastic and thank you for the time and feedback I’ll definitely work on this for the channel moving foward😁
These lyrics are incredible. Probably the most interesting song about reproductive rights I’ve heard.
Sounds like a song about baby Jesus mixed with Leda getting smashed
@@umevisuals8263 i'll be very surprised if you're a female in that case
@@nyxxova I'm a man why
@@umevisuals8263 yeah that checks out
@@umevisuals8263 It's a song about rape and the violent oppression of women. That's why.
God the imagery of this song is horrifying.
