- A faulty update to cybersecurity software knocked computers offline across industries and across the globe Friday.
The company responsible, CrowdStrike, announced the issue with its Falcon tool had been identified and a fix had been deployed.
Only computers running Microsoft Windows were affected, not those running Mac or Linux.

"No vulnerability" ???? That spokesperson is not a cyber security expert as C-I-A is the triad for cyber.... The "A" is availability. This is clearly a vulnerability of their architecture to have single points of failure affecting Availability..

Makes me wonder if Crowdstrike is requiring their customers to pay their IT to fix their mistake.
No need, only customer need is to turn on and off ewch of their computer and click update. That's 1000s of Computer per company with 1000 companies per Industry.

Now that Trump and Biden have learned they can hold other countries hostage through computer software, they will use it against any countries that dare say no. We will see a lot of countries rush to get off American made software in the next couple of years.
No they need to restart it at safe mode go in open the update find the file that’s causing the issue and delete it! Each and every computer has go be hand held and done manually!
@@aracelimerino15 the pain of having to change 1000s PCs. Safety Mode requires minutes to finish as well.

This outage will happen again. No one will be able to stop the reoccurrence of these outage events. Because whole world is now running on Algorithms. Algorithms are developed by humans but not the AI. Therefore its necessary to develop some OS as stand by for the services when Microsoft Windows fails.
