Hi mate, It was because of your two video's and the center diff oil change to 300k that I bought one of these last week!! Man, what a car! I couldn't help myself though, i pulled the trigger on a 4985 Max 6 combo for it. Will still be running 6s but with ridiculous amount of power and torque. My friend also did the same. While we are waiting for the Max 6 combo's to arrive, have been hitting the forums to find out what diff juices work well for the guys with the Max 6 systems in the Typhon. This is my 4th 6s Arrma, Felony, Mojave, Fireteam and now this little maniac!! Thanks so much for this channel, really appreciate all the hard work you do to bring us these no BS video's...Love ya work man. Take care and God bless you and yours.. Jimbo - Western Australia ( The land over yonder, for the zany flat earthers out there ) 😂
If you invested in a dumbo RC transmitter and receiver and you can buy multiple receivers and use the same transmitter on different cars, it has a built-in gyro and it works extremely awesome. I got it for my Senton. Handling is great
Thanks for sharing the run, I wanted to see that👍🏼The smaller Hoons on the Typhon seem to do a little better for drifting when they get warm in my experience. It can be geared up also with the smaller Hoons.
I was literally just talking to my son about putting Hoons on our typhon 6s. Our phones must have been listening and this video was top on my suggested list. Creepy, but we enjoyed the video!
But there's no point to adjust the camber while your'e without batteries... you need to adjust it while you're at proper ride height, as the camber changes when the suspension moves. after you add batteries the camber changes quite a bit
Yeah I know. I redid the toe and camber twice while I was at the park. I just didnt show it on video. It didnt make much of a difference in the handling. I need to change the shocks and diff fluid.
Now that could be a good use for tires that come off as he felony , when there worn to much , I can't believe how fast the felony goes through tires , but sure is fun ! I put titanium spark strips on the bottom of the felony , wow ! Now that's cool ! Lights are next ! SO GET OUT THERE ! CUZ I DO ! 😋
I ended up buying a Typhon 6S V5 because of your last video of it lol. I would personally stick to the stock tires or some sort of 2.8 proline tires (Badlands, Trenchers) for all around bashing. I think this rig is better used that way than speed runs and drifting
Cool idea, thanks for doing the video! I'm running Proline Avengers on the street. They work well. Yep the Typhon is not a drift machine but with those tires I'm sure you can go 80+
Like you said it needs heavy weight diff fluid. Its loosing momentum in turns because the inside tires are lifting and spinning and ur loosing power through the diff. Some people call it diffing out. I like locking my diffs almost all the way up less chance of blowing tires off
I usually use 50 or 60k in front 200k in center and 35 to 60k in rear , I don't have a typhon but I've run my outcast with hoons and it did perform like a mini infraction. Plus latley alot diffs aren't being filled properly from factory so if its low going heat up and very thin and " diff out" that's what this one was doing
I agree, fluids in front and rear is too thin. If you plan on using it on the road a lot, which I'd doubt you want to do, then thicker fluid would be good.
@@outsourcedrc I don't change fluid viscosity too often in my RCs as I get used to how they handle and I just fine tune the suspension. I have however changed the fluid in the front diff of my Losi LST 3XLE because I drive it hard and only one front wheel would diff out. Definitely reduced the steering a lot on high traction areas, but I rarely use it on high traction. Don't quote me as I'm not 100% but I think it comes stock with 10k and I put 500k in it.
My typhons spektrum servo ended up dying after a handful runs or so. It Got really tight and had a couple instances like you where the steering took a second to start working
You get different types of hoons....white,silver and gold.Check up on it,you using white now and those ones i think dont last long. Those hoons smoke when you do burnouts
KOOL Man. I have these same tires on a stretched Typhon and I cannot get it to drift. She loves going straigt and handles terrible as I put the Talion arms on her. She turns like a robot lol. Anyway Great v ideo thanks
I don't think it's the diff fluid, more likely geared different for the staggered rims. All fronts might work. Let me no if this heats the diff way up!
Carry a power bank in your supplies so that you can charge items such as your GPS in the field. I’m thinking about getting a Typhon. I think I will keep mine as off road. Keep up the nice videos
I do sometimes, but I mean, I JUST charged it the night before. What happens is that this GPS turns on while it charges and times the charge. Then it does not turn off when you unplug it. I did not know it did that.
@@nathansmith3387 If you check my channel you will see the video of my Typhon. I changed gearing, swapped the center diff for a spool gear, changed tires to hoons(balanced them too), and tweaked suspension. Since the video I’ve added ceramic bearings in all the hubs and around the spool gear and added some carbon fiber bits.
@@outsourcedrc thankfully. Not many people do they think oh these are bigger just because that must mean I can use them on any car and then shred there diffs and stuff .. sad to watch but everyone learns different right ..
Just curious why did you say the front and rear diff need thicker oil? Based on your other video, I added thicker center diff fluid (500k) and drifts much better. My goal is better drifting on pavement lol. Thanks again for the great info!
Center diff is to loose and rear diff needs a lighter weight oil. As it is the center diff I'd throwing all the power to rear and unloads. Causing u to lose control. You kept saying front and rear fluid is to thin and that is not the issue at all

Can't imagine being disappointed with that run. Your knowledge and experience really shows. Too much fun watching you work the car. Subscribed.!!
Thanks! I guess I was just expecting more drifting.
great video as always. maybe next experiment: proline mx28’s/basher style tires, see how it does off-road.
Oh the Badlands? I'm going to get a set.
@@outsourcedrc be careful . The esc is factory set for LVC , you can't change it, it will take your batts down to 3v.

So much street attitude with those boots on. Love it😊❤
Another great video, the typhon 6s is insane
I love a good cambered TOE

I'm looking to get back into the hobby again and I may more than likely buy the Typhon. That thing really rips!!

I like the idea of putting the larger Hoons on the Typhon.

Mojave tires are fantastic on it
i bought some avengers. once they are hot its all grip.
Looked really cool with them wheels on. Bit of a shame it didn’t drift.

I found out that the GPS turns on while it charges and it times its charge. When I took it off the charger, it stays on and just ran the battery down.

I have them too, on my typhon & Mojave
You.need the mass or weight to overcome the grip of the tyres. That's why felony drifts so well

How did you adjust the toe on the front? I can't see anywhere to adjust it. Thanks
The shafts that stear it. They twist and that changes the toe
What camber link can I use for my senton 4x4 ..Amazon go by (mm) so I don’t know the right length
Can I ask the technical reason why changing the diff fluid to a thicker one would help? Cheers
So that it doesn't diff out. It will keep power to all four wheels and will let the rear break free.
Would you recommend the 3s or 6s arrmas? Im 14 and I want to buy my first arrma and I like how the granite looks and drives
It depends. I think their 3s line is pretty good. Their 6s line seems to only be good if you don’t bash them hard.
I don't think it's the diff fluid, more likely geared different for the staggered rims. All fronts might work. Let me no if this heats the diff way up!

I like the Typhon better. ITs one of my favorites

Try the Regular hoons and up your diff fluids it will drive alot better. With that SWB it's gonna be hard to control on those thicker hoons....

if you put more preload and get the thinner hoon tires it should drift better

All 4 tires are the same.

I think the wheels are too wide.
Too much power to the rear tires and the back breaks loose too much
