I get some real spice on the aroma too - agree the design of this glass is superb and keeps the beer smooth and fresh. I got the glass at Munich airport with x2 bottles for 9 euros.
It's a strange one for sure. Other bavarian wheat beers like Franziskaner, Paulaner, Weihenstephaner etc. all taste somewhat similar. I mean there are subtle differences, but you can easily tell they're of the same style. Erdinger is quite different and I initially didn't like it at all. However it does have its place, and I'm always delighted when a pub has Erdinger in addition to all the usual macro lagers. It's definitely a step up from almost any other mass produced beer. However if they also happen to have weihenstephaner or paulaner, the choice is easy. Better to view it as a more full bodied and sweeter/estery lager than a full on explosion of banana, bubblegum and clove.
Then should try Franziskaner and Schneider Weisser bro! So much better. I tested this today and it was ok! Pretty good. But does not beat Franzisakenr and Schneider weisse.
@@roybm3124 You do that! Im from Sweden. Whjere are you from? I wonder what the germans themselves recommend. Anyway. I've tried MANY wheat biers and my absolute favorite are this 2. Schneider weissie is tap 4. The other I have not tried. There are like tap 4-7. I have only tried tap 4.
@@roybm3124 Cool! Well don't miss out on the beers I mentioned, I think you will like them. :D YYou must tell me then when you get back from the wheat-beer capital which ones I should try. Haha! Well. I think Mariestads is a pretty bad beer (we have so many better), but i'm glad you like it :)
the only Weiss beer glass i got is one from a German castle called Burg Eltz. but only recently im discovering Weiss beers. and exactly Erdinger is a different Weissbeer no banana aroma. in that segment i love the Seef.. this erdinger with a nice fruitsalade
I had a bottle in Athens last week and really enjoyed it. served in the correct glass too. I can tell you much needed at 35degrees heat. Not the most advanced Weis but certainly better than any pump beers on offer.
Thank GOD you show the people to loosen the bottom flavorings. I swirl the last inch of beer vigourously, no need to roll softly. Th beer is already creating a head.. pour in the swirled yeast flavorings, and watch the cloud consume the beer until it's no longer clear.
I love beer but unfortunately I can't drink them anymore due to them heavily sedating me and making me just want to hit the hay after the first one. For some reason this is the only beer that doesnt do that. Now I can drink beer again! I love the flavour. Such a good beer
Mate I’m the exact same!! When I drink most beers I get tired and want to hit the hay stack. But with Erdinger completely different! I feel awake and full of energy!
Great review, I did a review on this yesterday just haven’t uploaded it yet and I felt very similar about the lack of banana and bubble gum sort of flavors. It’s good but could use more of those flavors.
Tbh, I feel like there is a lot of banana in there. Maybe as someone who doesn't like banana but loves beer I can taste it more? Or really, the flavour maybe granadillo which has a very foamy banana taste but not the kind you buy at the grocers.
Personally think its a terrible example of the style, absolutely love wheat beers, sucker for Franziskaner, this is much closer to a lager with its extreme carbonation and lack of the usual wheat beer flavours, however drinking one earlier I picked out a cantaloupe flavour, not a bad beer, happily go for it in pubs with lesser selection
Agreed, certainly a good beer to introduce people looking to try something a little different, also a fan of the Weihenstephaner, particularly their Dunkel
@@TheBierHooligan one of my favorite macro Weissbier Erdinger weissbier this is the beer that got me into weissbier or Hefeweizen Wheat beers I also love Schinder weissbier tap 7 and would love to try Franziskaner weissbier or Whenstephineer Hefeweizen someday. Unfortunately I don't have a wheat beer glass which I need to buy
I prefer Paulaner has a better depth of flavour, but a bit more expensive. Schneider Weiss is better yet, and a bit more adventurous compared to most mainstream brands wrt their range.
I paid $8 from Dan Murpheys in Australia. They taxing our balls !! I wanna go back to east coast of Spain and pay 85 cents.. And tobacco is $2 euro a pack-Anyway, Its very good, Love the after taste. 🍀
I totally agree mate. Each style of beer should be served in it's appropriate glassware, no exceptions. Cheers🍻

I ordered my glass from eBay. Game changer

I love that beer probably better than the other 3 or 4 German wheat beers combined
@@TheBierHooligan ok if you think but just my personal favourite. But they're all great in their own way
Had it from the pump recently and loved it and smooth for a decent strength beer .
My local spoons trusts me with the fancy glasses... makes all the difference with this one like you say. Great review sir 🍻
I think it's a great beer, although I don't really care for wheat beers.
I got they glass mate with wissbier from lidi but I'm loving it
Really enjoyed this beer had it with a filthy spicy burger with loaded fries and found it went very well.
Beside Erdinger my favorite Beer is Herrenbräu (Ingoldstadt) and Tannenzäpfle (Rothaus) 😉
Dekicious beer.
Racking beer erdinger also there is subtle banana in there

Got your advice and finally I bought it 4 cans for $5.99 for the first time, very spicy no bannana at all , overall not bad at all
Spot on dude !!
I did not have the right glass so poured it in a san miguel glass Ended up with a six finger head
Haha

Have always viewed Erdinger as a wheatbeer for people who don't like wheatbeers...heresy!!!
It's not a great weizen.
To me Erdinger Weissbier is very similar to a lager.

I appreciate that man! Doin a lot of German beers now but mainly the channel for a while was a lot of American adjuncts.
The Bier Hooligan I definitely will ask ya some questions here in the future haha. Thanks so much for the sub and have a good one man. Cheers 🍻

vile stuff, so thin n fizzy, no creamy mouth feel.. Franziskaner is far superior
