You've already mentioned several times in your other videos that it was off season. I guess its worth mentioning that once again especially when talking prices. Planes, airbnb and pretty much everythingelse in south of Turkey doubles even triples peak season.
@@hellesylt9770 winter months, unless you are coming over to ski :). Beginning of spring and end of autumn is relatively cold so I would say november and march are also off season.
your round up videos after each country are honestly my favourite, you have this very thorough and clear and organised perspective compared to any other travel UA-camr haha! hope there's an itinerary one coming too! And oh I cannot wait for the Thailand series !!
Great breakdown! If I was reading everything right, that's crazy that the flights were only about $25 US dollars and even less than that for hotel accommodations. That seems really really affordable!!
I'm definitely looking into breaking down costs for travel. I'm planning on buying a motorcycle and traveling through a bit of South America in the summer. One thing at a time though, I hope everything is going well the you Christianne!
Thank you so much for sharing this information and making the video, Turkey is on my list too! I’ve been following your contents on UA-cam and Instagram for more than a year, I’d say you’re one of my motivations to travel and plan things that I thought was impossible. I’m going to London in a month for a one-year volunteering program, I’m from Taiwan so it’s really exciting for me to travel around Europe haha 😆 and planning to do working holidays in Australia probably next year, just want to say thank you again for sharing your life, it made me feel brave to pursue what I want 💕
I love these travel budget break downs Christianne! I'm actually so inspired by yours that I started doing them on my channel as well haha. I find money an interesting topic in general, but it would also be very interesting to know how much you make as a travel content creator and what kind of revenue streams you have, and how you make money while traveling. I understand that not everyone is comfortable talking about personal finance topics but if you are, this would be an interesting video topic! :)
Note to any travelers: Because there have been a rise in energy prices and minimum wage in Turkey as we entered 2022, the prices of everything (food, travel, accomodation, etc) in Turkish Liras have been quickly going up in January and it will probably keep going up for a while. In mid or long term, that rise in prices might be balanced by exchange rates of your currency as the value of Turkish Lira might go down as it did last year but for now, the exchange rates stayed somewhat stable in January, so you might consider a little higher prices for the same expenditures for a while.
"I'm no going to lie , I partied quite a bit..." lol we know! Great cost breakdown. That was a great budget and it seems you got great value for the money.
This honestly was fantastic to understand how you budget when backpacking. You are fabulous at explaining and it's something I definitely need to do more of when looking at travel for the future. I'm heading to New York in March, not a backpacking trip but if you have been there or got any recommendations of things to do, I would love to hear them. I'm not taking my guide dog with me, I'm just going to have my trusty white stick to navigate. Not the same as a marvellous Guide Dog but I will still be able to hopefully get about without too many issues. Thanks again for putting this video together, I loved learning a little more. Xox
Hi. I will be going to turkey next month. We are going self catering. We will not be drinking alcohol. And we will visit a few places that we have seen like Ephesus. One of them. Is it reasonable to eat out. And are the stores cheap to buy their products from also which we will need in the apartment.
I love these videos so much! I also want to travel to Turkey so this gives me a good idea of how much I might have to spend even though it is off-season!
This is so super helpful! I heard from Turkish people that now is the time to go because of the great exchange rate. You were there in Dec/Jan, correct? How was the weather temps overall from north to south?
Thank you Christianne for the transparent insight! Me and my wife are Also planning for Turkey trip this year. We will be traveling on Budget. And a question which months are called as off season?
Just for request, can you send me to all hotel names you stay in Turkey for 30 days because I am going for 30 days and I love this budget you are going in this video
Random comment I know but: just curious which you prefer out of Turkey or Mexico. Planning a three week trip in March and can’t make up my mind. Only travelled in SE Asia before. Thank you
I’m from Turkey and I’m backpacking in Mexico right now I definitely recommend you Mexico specially Puerto Escondido!!! :) if you like scuba diving playa del Carmen and Cozumel !! It’s the best corals in the world !!!
Good heavens I’m embarrassed at my monthly expenses after seeing your budget! We actually did have a recent trip to Puerto Vallarta where our budget was reasonable. But again, at 67 and 66 we prefer Airbnbs to hostels!! Is Turkey less expensive than Mexico? It seems to be! Be safe!
love this type of videos cause budgeting your day to day expenses is quite difficult for places that are not so "toursity". Awesome job and greetings from Mexico!!
for the daily budget, when its green and has a number what exactly does that mean? So for example if its green and says 11.39, is that how much you spent that day or how far away you were from exceeding the budget that day? I hope that made sense : S Loved the vid as always!
If it is green with a number, the number represents how far UNDER my budget I am. If it’s red with a number, the number represents how far OVER my budget I am 😅
Omg really!? That's all? I have more than enough bones buried in my backyard to afford that! Hahaha! Now I know why Turkey is THE place to visit in Europe. All I have to do now is find a "Jeremy" who can come along with me! Thank you for all the wonderful videos! Hoşça kal! 👋🤩
Some insight to put some light on the numbers to compare her experience to how it's to live like a Turkish citizen for anyone interested. Before, I have to say, this is definetely not a critique to her spending. She was in Turkey to enjoy herself and get the best travelling experience so she has every right to do whatever she wants and have every luxury as she please with her own money. On the contrary, I celebrate her choices as she seemed to have great time and I hope she comes back soon to enjoy more. This is just a little financial comparison of being a traveler in Turkey and a Turkish citizen. In 35 days, she spent almost 5 times of just recently increased monthly minimum wage in Turkey, which is 4250TL. It was around 2800TL until the end of 2021. So, considering most of her trip was in 2021, she've actually spent almost 7,5 times of monthly minimum wage. You should know almost half of the monthly paid people in Turkey work for minimum wage or a little more. If we continue comparing with 2021 minimum wage, She spent almost 2,5 times of 2021 minimum wage only for food and drinks. She spent 2,5 times of minimum wage for accomodation. Of course, I know staying at hotels and airbnbs are always much more expensive daily than renting an apartment for long term and eating at restaurants costs more than home cooking, especially in touristic areas. But, still Turkish people needs to pay rent, utilities, communication, food, clothing, cleaning products, toiletries, at least local travelling, basic social and cultural activities, health expenditure if needed, any electronic needs, child-care and some education expenses if they have children, etc... with only a fraction of that money.
I love these budgeting/spending videos! They’re so helpful for me, as I’m just getting into travel/backpacking 😊

Can you recommend a way to do this solo? i have no one to travel with but would like to meet people along the way. many thanks
@backpacking bananas … where did you look for accommodations and did you mainly book hotels or airbnbs
You did a lot of so called expensive activities within that price, so it's pretty good!

When did you visit Turkey (i.e. which month)? I suspect the prices are high now given the entire Turkish lira situation..
what hotel is it called for the most expensive hotel you stayed
how did you get such cheap domestic tickets?? google flights doesn't show me anything like those rates
May I ask, did you pay for things in advance, or did you pay for things as you came to the different cities.

That is insane! So so cheap. I’m Bert tempted to just live in turkey for a few months, I’ll end up saving money compared to Australian living.
