@@BackpackingBananas How did you know it is diverse? You didn't communicate with locals except Kivanc(the man who helped with your climbing) or let us know you obtained something from locals on the video. IT IS MORE LIKE A TOURIST VIDEO rather than a backpacking one! For example, did you ask anyone when you arrived at your hostel why THE BUS DRIVER dropped you at the side of the highway? He may be trying to help, Maybe just couldn't explain. He called the taxi anyway. Secondly, THEY TOOK MONEY at Çirali beach BECAUSE... People have woken to the fact that the number of Loggerhead sea turtles decreasing due to crowds keeping the beach busy during the summer(Because Turtles can't bury their eggs). They use the museum organizations because of structural causes. I am not sure if they earn money or not. This is the starting point, I don't know the rest. Hang out with locals and bring them somewhere if you can. 🥸
I stayed at Kadir’s Tree Houses in 2018 and really enjoyed it! But it was July, so it was suuuper hot and humid which wasn’t ideal for a place with no air conditioning haha. Watching this brought back some nice memories of the area (and now you’ve made me want to go climbing there next time). Cappadocia is incredible, have an amazing time!! I spent 2 weeks there in 2019 and fully intend to go back
Same in Germany. Always got told this as a child (to prevent the heart to stop due to the sudden coldness), and i still do this now. Although, i am not sure how science sees this. I mean, ppl do ice swimming etc in Scandinavia/Russia etc🤷🏽♀️😄
Absolutely gorgeous! I didn’t know Turkey had so much climbing, and the beach with the mountains around was stunning. Putting Turkey on the bucket list. Thanks for sharing🥰
One of the many reasons I just LOVE turkey. The variety in their landscape, so many things to do and see. Planning to go back in September. Really enjoying your turkey Vlogs! 🙌🏾🙌🏾
“I thought I was going to be climbing in my Balenziaga’s”, I’m an amateur climber and I found that so funny. Loving the turkey content 😍. I definitely will be marking down some recommendations from these vlogs
That’s true about putting cold water on your neck before entering cold water. Particularly around the UK and east American coast . It prevents anaphatlantic shock
Loving all of your turkey content, it just all sounds so incredible. The amazing experiences and people you have met. Loved this vlog. Delighted that you were able to get a lift back after you had finished your day there, pretty terrifying when you are stuck but what lovely people to have offered to help. :-). Can't wait for more of your travelling content. Gives me so much inspiration. You are just awesome. Xox
Yey, another Turkey vlog!! The rock climbing looked so much fun, I've only done indoor ''rock climbing'' (I guess it's called wall climbing) and I really enjoy it. And no, I didn't know about the cold water neck thing, but I've survived so far and I've done winter swimming in Finland so.... 😂
There are many people in Switzerland who swim in lakes and rivers in the winter and I have not seen them do the neck thing, but you should prepare to swim for months slowly dropping the temperature and never stay longer in the water that the amount of degree celcius in minutes.
What a start to this video. Hooked from the word go! I never made it to Olympos on my trip - went from Kas straight to Konya, but I feel like I've missed out now. Also really want to find somewhere to go rock climbing after this video. Mount Chimera looked all kinds of epic and I'm so disappointed I didn't know about it when I planned my trip. The roasting of marshmallows looked just perfect! Love that the guys are the hole in the wall place called friends to pick you guys up! Though very impressed you got him down my 50 as he was in a pretty good position given that you had no other options! 🙌 Very excited for you going to Cappadoccia and also very excited by the hint of Egypt! 🐪
Thank you for your wonderful comment ❤️ funnily enough we didn’t make it to Konya! How was it?? We for sure got lucky bargaining with the guy as you said we had no other options 😅
@Backpacking Bananas Konya was nice, it was a bit of a whistle stop visit and very cultural and museum orientated rather than adventurous. If memory serves correct, it was also the first day of Ramadan, it was the height of summer (as it was waaaaay back in 2011) and everyone was naturally feeling exhausted so I may have had a skewed view of the city. Cappadocia was the highlight of the trip for me so really pleased you are going/having been 😍
Hi Christianne Hope you are well. Are you back in the UK? I enjoy watching your videos I did not know that turkey was that amazing. Take care and stay safe
I’ve been loving these Turkey 🇹🇷 videos!! I’m a new viewer and I’m catching Up on a lot of your videos. Question how do you guys split everything ? Like for the hostel or entering the museums? Like in the other vlog for the air Bnb and it was 9 of you how did you split it? Lol
Wetting your neck before going in water helps reduce the risk of a cold shock response. You are more prone to a cold shock response if you go into cold water after eating (during digestion). Would also recommend doing ankles as wrists before going in.
Hi! I'm Chilean we have the coldest water in South America and I've never heard of it and I've never been paralysed before sooo I guess it is not true (?)
I go to Olimpos every summer at least 3 times and stay there a week each time. you said there are no restaurants or shops around, well there are many actually. they dont open in winter. you would see those street full of people. Also inn my opinion Kadir's tree house isn't a good place to stay. Bayram's is the best place there. Kadir's place got popular and they lowered their quality. If anyone goes to Olimpos, go to Bayram's. you won't regret.
We hope to climb there ... can you access the climbing areas without going via the 'archaeological museum / ruins'? We just want to climb. Any advice would be most appreciated.
I would absoloutely love to do what you do, I just don’t get how you can be in a forgeign country not even knowing what country you’re going to next! It sounds like an absoloute dream, but I just don’t know if I could deal with the stress if not having anything planned in advance? You’re amazing How do you do this? 😂❤️
Thank you ❤️ I haven’t done a lot of proper rock climbing with the special shoes etc but I love climbing on rocks just in general when there is an opportunity 😅
Maybe I’ve seen too many scary movies but being in a foreign land and the bus goes past your stop…seems like the beginning of a horror film. Hmmm. Obviously it worked out for you though! Lol
Remember these times Cee , because this will probably be when you were in the best shape of your life. You are amazing and special. Thanks for showing this area.
I'm definitely going to Turkey now because these video shave shown me what a great country it truly is!!
Woohoo 🥳 Yaaas so much more diverse than I expected!

I'm french and the water thing before you enter the sea is definitely something we've been told as french by our parents :)
That’ll be why then! 😅

Try driving that distance with an official taxi with taximeter on and see if 200tl is too much.
We did, many times in other cities and a 30minute journey would be about 100TL
The beach is now 380 lira 😮
People jump into very hot and very cold onsen back and forth, no one put cold water on the neck first.
True!
What an adventure!
From start to finish in this vlog 😅
Awesome video Christianne 😊👍👍
Thanks haxter ❤️
well done with the rock climbing
So how are you doing with your spreadsheet Christianne?! 😜 Is it broken already? We haven't seen you mention it. 🤪
The spreadsheet update is getting an entire video to itself 😅😅 stay tuned
