I have been trusting and praying for a good mate for years now. I'm now 30 and have never really been in a relationship (part of me believes that is the will of God). I believe I will have an amazing relationship and marriage.
Truth. God always gives the best to those that wait upon him. Trusting and waiting is the right way. Many people try and force things to happen which I've found from experience doesn't work.

This doesn't talk about 'God as matchmaker' but about the importance of marriage in God's eyes. Derek Prince's position on God as matchmaker is nuanced. In one of his books he said that he doesn't believe God has 1 person for every other person. He said there may be many persons you could be a good match with, and God may bless you by bringing such a person on your path every now and then. And you're free to choose. It's also possible to live in sin and be a terrible Christian, not being a good match for anybody. There's a passivity in 'waiting for the right person' that's not Biblical. Some people grow old and die alone with that passive mindset.

Its alaso good to read the Present with Religion, a book available for free on the internet.The book is about the truth of life and it shows the full picture of life for the first time so that you may stop being deceived by the world and be able to follow the steps of Jesus and other prophets to Heaven.Knowing the whole truth of life is the key factor in our salvation.We must know the real truth, all of it and live in it and change ourselves according to it in ordrer to be saved.There is no other way to our salvation.With the knowledge of the truth there comes true repentance which means changing our minds and also true obediance to God' s law and finally oir sanctification which is a lifelong process.And God in His mercy will give us His wonderful grace which is the time and ability to make the proper change.Only in this way will we be able to attain our eternal salvation.Our task is to find this narrow gate that leads to God and do it quickly and stay on it till the end no matter what.Then and only then we will be saved.There is nothing more important or serious to do in this fallen world as our eternal fate depends on it.
I went through different stages. I'm 40 in exactly three weeks and got conclusion that if God would have that plan for me, I'd met sb already. So just learning how to just live and not feel pain from being lonely., just to be alone. Seems it has to be that way.
