After 2 years and multiple setbacks Autumn and I finally finished our Tapper restore. Journey with us as we return this game back to it's original glory.
I got to play this cabinet a few times at The Pinball Wizard in Pelham, NH a few times in the early 2010s while it still existed. Only place I ever saw one.
While this is just not a fun game to me I love the cab and awesome to see it fully restored. This video motivated me to go out to my local arcade here in the Houston area tonight, and I'll be moving closer to DFW in the next few months and hope to get up there soon. I am also looking forward to getting my 6 arcades back up and going well again since I haven't had time in the last few years.
I love this game because for my entire childhood I only ever saw the Root Beer version in Showbiz/Chuck E. Cheese, then in 2013 when 16-Bit Bar+Arcade opened in Ohio they had the Budweiser one and it blew my mind a little. I'm confused about the board situation with this. I didn't hear any mention of where the board came from. He mentioned that they fried the board they had (get it together Travis!). Then I didn't hear anything about a replacement or fixing it, just that they burned some ROMs for it. So ... Is this based on a base system that just needs different ROMs for different games? I have to wonder how many arcades are running a R-Pi with a MAME image on half their machines. One of the other videos they mentioned a big arcade that has an acrylic DDR where you can see the boards, and I'm sure that's because a lot of places try to run DDR in a MAME box and that makes all those hardcode DDR nerds go crazy. So letting everybody see that you've got a legit machine by making it see-thru is genius.
Mike, I love your content. Your restore videos are so well done and love to see how much you love your family. You’re definitely living my dream of having your own arcade and your family being a part of it. Great job on your Tapper Restore.
Brilliant stuff as always. Really great to see Autumn do the cap kit! I’ve refurbished my own cabs, soldered wires and bits here and there, but never been confident enough to try a recap. Great work. That’s an immaculate cab you’ve finished up with. Congrats!!
This might be your best restoration video yet. I love the time machine aspect of a lot of these. So cool. We need to get back in, sure miss the cade, just been so busy. Love the video and we love the Electric Starship.
@@TallerThanTreesMusic that’s probably going to be tough unless someone has an alternative solution. It was still intact on the cabinet when we got it. The foot bar and cup holders are tough parts to find. And pretty darn pricey when you do.
@@ElectricStarshipArcade Gotcha! I just checked out your website for a list of games and pricing. You've got an amazing collection with great pricing! We really need arcades like yours here in the UK!
McGuckin hardware seems to be alive and well in Boulder Colorado
Man, I love your videos. Nice job all!
Thank you!
Love that game!!!
I absolutely loved this game when I was a kid, I'd sit there for a few hours playing at the laundromat with my parents.
I remember it having a actual beer tapper as a joystick.
yeah i vaguely remember this as well.
What a gorgeous machine. Great work!
Thank you

I wanted a tapper arcade cab for the longest time as it really is an amazingly fun and addicting game.

Turned out beautiful, fantastic job everyone- you guys killed it 🍻
I hate to say it but I loved playing this as a kid. They came out when I was 9 and I remember it eating tons of my quarters!
Why do you hate to say it?
Really nice restoration you did with that cab. The before and after is quite impressive. Looks great
Thank you for the kind words
I don’t get excited about many things on UA-cam but that Bally logo reveal/restore was awesome!
What a lovely family. Bless you all.
Thank you!
Have to say that gold plating is fatastic gives it some extra shine 🤩
Would be cool to see that tetris kit used on a cab
Excellent work as always 👾
I can honestly say I wish I had the patience. Turned out to be a beautiful cab.
Loverly job, a game I would defo love in my collection but never come up in the Uk.
Father of the year! That's some quality family time.
She’s the best. We have a lot of fun

Love the video and we love the Electric Starship.
I'd love to see a video of you guys putting together a tetris system even if it's not fully original.
🤘❤️🤘
Thats superb. I'd Love to see you guys do an original Paperboy Coin-op restoration. That thing had handlebars!

Tapper is so good! New favorite game!
Cool video as always! Love me some Tapper!
Excellent video, If you do decide to let go of your back up control panel I'm interested!
Wow this came out great!
Great video
you still missing the pool stick holder and the beer holder that would be a OG Tapper that was in bars
Tapper! A great game!!!!
Well done!
You and your daughter make an awesome team
Thank you, we have a blast!
Wow I want that
Brother, if you still got the Tetris stuff, let me know! That would be an awesome suprise for the wife
Unfortunately we are usually for another arcade buildout.
Wow, an actual cabinet collector's channel?
As a Father myself, this was awesome to watch! #fatherdaughtergoals

Plumbers crack
Crack kills! :)
Hahahaha! Thank you for that!
YESSSSSSS what a beauty
God why would you ruin a tapper? Especially for tetris?
Dude I like Tetris
But cmon man.. They didn’t have to do that to a Tapper..
WOOOO HOOOO!!!!!!!
this must have been a fairly common conversion, I had the identical conversion, but mine still had the OE CP
lighter fluid works to get stickers off just as well
If you want to sell the backup control panel I'd love to buy it from you
Where do you buy side art and the bar for the bottom :) I am trying to restore mine for my home arcade
We purchased the side are from ThisOldGame
@@ElectricStarshipArcade thank you so much! What about the bar on the bottom? I am new to restoring so any help you can give would be amazing

I can't tell if he has 2 daughters or has like 5 which all look the same.
Two daughters. Identical twins :)

So your daughters' names are Autumn and Summer? That's very quirky.
Thanks. They are twins
Should of kept it tetris 😢
Fapper is my favorite game! Watch me get high score!
Maybe one day you'll buy a tripod. Great restoration! Not the best video.
The font on the thumbnail kind of makes it look like it says "fapper" just fyi.
Haha! I just used the OG marquee. Keep your hands where I can see them pal!
