Hi guys! This is a re upload. The previous video seems to have been corrupted in the upload to YT process. Please confirm if this is working as per normal!
Just saw him play live the other night with Fit For An Autopsy.. in addition to being a world class drummer, Josean's kit was tuned/mixed to perfection.. best sounding kit I've heard live.. it was a killer show!
You have to check out Jon Rice(ex. Job for a cowboy) play "Unfurling a Darkened Gospel". He has filled in for Inferno(Behemoth) on three separate occasions as well so there are good drum cam videos of him playing some of their songs as well.
Thank you so much for checking this one out. This is one of all time favourite, it helped me a lot in personal aspect and like the lyrics a lot. Thank you. Cheers!!
Every member of this band is a master of their craft. Also not sure if you know but their guitarist does their studio recording and is a very sought after studio wiz. Had recorded many amazing albums with other artists
I'm not a drummer by no means but I'm an old school metal head who loves this music. I am a string instrument guy. That's because the drums are so technical and I suck at them lol. I just started watching your channel and I really enjoy it
Hey Andrew. I would love to see you check out Jared Klein of Rivers of Nihil. There's a great playthrough of Death is Real that I think you would really enjoy as it has a bit of everything in the modern metal spectrum. He also does backing vocals live which is just silly! Keep up the good work!
Leo McClain of Worm Shepard is pretty spectacular!! He looks so calm and his facility is A1! Not to mention he tends to do a lot of speed shifts which adds a nice touch! Below is a drum cam of "In The Wake Ov Sol" by Worm Shepard. ua-cam.com/video/iHlq9Ah2zbQ/v-deo.html
Frankly, I think this video does a great job of illustrating why so many metal drummers use large kits: when the sound is this compressed and punchy it severely reduces the dynamic range of each drum, and that means you need more sound sources to keep things varied and interesting. It's not a universal thing, some bands go for a more open sound that doesn't demand this amount of cutting power, making room in the mix for more dynamic texturing, but it's a common thing.
I really liked this. I knew of them but never really listened to them. The soundscape is right up my alley. Very astute observation on the mix and mics. Loved the punchy mix but wish the cymbals were a little more present. Dude, that Play Button matches the snare beautifully. 🤘
Im sorry andrew but id love to send some java from canada or a donation i love the channel man...very informative, engaging and fun to see the look given watching these crazy extreme drummers i play this stuff myself not pro but since 1995 id love to see some coverage of nick barker ive said this many times before hes influenced mist of the players you have watched and started his ball rolling with cradle of filth then dimmu borgir etc etc etc hes been everywhere top notch and a man his frame shouldnt be able to do that watch his bagpipe video
Morgan Ågren - Unbelievable drum solo - Mats & Morgan concert - Fasching 4/11-2021 Billy Cobham: Tenth Pinn - 1974 Billy Cobham: Master at work...Drumclinic short but still good nonetheless
If you get a chance check out Abigail Cristea of the band Liliac. She's not crazy heavy (she probably could be, but gives every song what it needs), but is known for hitting heavy. I'm not a drummer so I don't know if shattering cymbals is common. I just know she has quite the collection. (I would imagine this guy we just watched does too, cuz damn.) I guess Dear Father is a good one to check out as I just saw a short of another drummer covering it.
Oh and that part when the feet are going hard and the hands half time. I think you just had your first break down feels brother. Please check the link I shared in comments. Someone also share with rooney
No corruption plays loud and looks clear... But, Fit for an Autopsy formed in 08' released their 1st album 2011' after the departure of their former vocalist Greg Wilburn in late 2014' early 2015' but have been chugging away doing their thing Josean is definitely a solid player behind the kit...
The guitarist from this band, has another band called END, whose drummer is Billy Rymer from Dillinger Escape Plan, absolutely bullsh*t good! heavier than this
Congrats on that lovely silver play button :) If you're looking for something new please check The Omnific "The Lifeless Charm | Mullet-Man Drum Playthrough".
Hey Andrew, I'm not a drummer but love your channel. Thought I'd sling you a recommendation for Trym Torsen of Emperor. When I first heard the song 'Ye Entrancemperium' it blew my mind, I'd never heard anything as fast or intricate before and was amazed. The song is like 25 years old now but the link to the rehearsal cam footage from 5 years ago shows he still has it and is probably even faster now. Again, love your channel, keep up the amazing work and grats on the button. ua-cam.com/video/ZQlezBTQBrM/v-deo.html
So Cool your doing Extreme Metal Andrew, may I suggest a legend in the DeathCore scene Shawn Cameron from Carnifex, I think you'll be mesmerized by his intricate style plus the band is straight Fire, mind blowing riffs and breakdowns. Have you ever scene a drummer do stick twirls in unison with insane blasts beats? It's hard to pick a song but behold, Dark days live will show you what their capable of :) ua-cam.com/video/3gvA_kUAzIE/v-deo.html
Two most recent records from this band are thoroughly enjoyable! but poor song selection for this format. Next time do "Far from heaven", "Pandora", "No man is without fear", "Shepard', "Sea of Tragic Beasts"
Agreed, like I told Andrew, there weren't any drum cams I could find of decent quality for those newer songs. If one becomes available I'll do another request. Cheers!
Well played to be sure but this is very middle of the road for metal drumming. Tom work wasn't very striking, cymbal work was plain. The one stand out for me which sadly didn't last very long was the snare hits during the first heavy bit, reminded me a lot of the original Fear Factory drummer Raymond Herrera. I do wonder if this wasn't the best song to showcase his talent.
Good drummer but that was sooo boring as far as extreme metal is concerned. The 4 piece kit makes the song sound one dimensional to my ears and the obssessive use of heavy cymbal accents gets incredibly boring and repetitve despite the chops. Regardless, these are the droids you are looking for: Patrice Hamelin from Gorguts David Gray from Akercocke Derek Roddy from anything he was on but especially Hate Eternal's "I, Monarch" album Frost from 1349
Yes, Frost! The man has some crazy insane aura despite being a small and gay looking being. On stage he overshadows everyone else and is a total center of all which is going on there , even not being seen behind his kit

Sounds great, thanks again Andrew!

My hommie from puerto Rico 🤘🇵🇷🤘
Dave McGraw from Cattle Decapitation is insane....difficult to find a good drum cam video that has his feet in it though.
I need to get to that one!
Was listening to them yesterday! Good call man; love to see Andrew's reaction.
Glad Josean is getting some recognition!!
You bet Francis!
@@AndrewRooneyDrums I hope he sees this!!
Sounds works well! Josean is an amazing drummer!!
Thanks for confirming Thomas!

This guy come from my island of Puerto Rico. He’s the drummer for a local band over there called Tropiezo which he plays insane stuff. Legend.

Amazing 👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼
getting strong Arise-era Sepultura vibes along with some early Machine Head sprinkling on top ("that's what she..." etcetc)

Some nice points there!
Works!
Thank you Tyler. I'll wait for one other confirmation and then delete the other vid :)
Huge congradulations to you. I enjoyed this thoroughly.
Why did you swap the head phones for the ear buds?

Andrew. Please review Eugene Ryabchenko of Fleshgod Apocalyptic!!!!
I have done one on him! Need to do more :)
will someone please show this man the vid of George Kollias on a 4 piece in a jazz ensemble? I'd request it but I don't have that kind of $! 🤣

@@SillyOlive Keen observation. I don't appreciate them because I'm not a fan of deathcore 🤷♂️.
Yes, Frost! The man has some crazy insane aura despite being a small and gay looking being. On stage he overshadows everyone else and is a total center of all which is going on there , even not being seen behind his kit
Eeeeeh, nothing special about this guy!
Really?
