This is how perfume review videos should be, not like some other "female youtubers" that all the said is "oh this is a pretty or sexy scent".. for every perfume... They don't really know how to describe perfume. This is an educational and informative, very good video. Amazing channel.🎉 thank you!!
A lot of female reviewers know what they’re talking about too! I get what you mean though. I love the deep dives I get from Ramsey but I also don’t really mind when people describe frags off vibes and stuff either. Ideally we get a little of both 😅
My favorite note ! Creeds’s Cypres Musc ( no longer available ) is fantastic with a musty, slightly sour, salty and musky effect. Cypress, musk, ambergris and bergamot
Really great to see a cypress-focused discussion and thanks for sharing some off-the-radar gems. Annick Goutal's Eau d'Hadrien would be fitting to throw into the mix - a long time favorite of mine. Great to hear mention of Meo Fusciuni's Sprito, which is one I own from the house, and appreciated your take on that one. Give Meo's Narcotico a try for a beautiful composition/rendering of incense/patchouli.
Great video Ramsey, I love cypress fragrances. I must urge you to check our or at least sample the now sadly discontinued Floris 1962, a fantastic Cypress fragrance and one of my faves. I’d say its a cross between Polo Green and Italian Cypress, it is a stunner!
I like cypress alot and conifers, juniper and pine. I 💬 the best cypress that blew me away when I first smelled it, Italian Cypress! That middle aged Dutch guy that used to review on UA-cam a few years ago, introduced me to it...
Greetings Ramsey, one of favorite notes in a mens fragrance is the note Cypress, excellent video and keep providing us with the fragrance videos of nostalgia,,,POSSUM HOLLLLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAA!!!💪
@@RamseytheRam Yeah but i since it was done by Polge imma give it some time.. I feel it would be better then the other junk in this line since its more "basic".
awesome topic and video! if i didnt have to conserve them, two fragrances you mentioned could be my signature scent, i love to wear them. bracken man and mousse illuminee. they are near perfect to me, or for me at least. also encre noire is probably the longest "fragrance journey" ive been on thus far lol. i bought it way back when i was buying cheapies from the free bottle squad videos. when i finally started to like it i always thought of it as simple as hell, sitting at a campfire in a cypress forest. but now i perceive it as a (albeit unique) fougere and very clean, its great. p.s. im waiting for that norne review, or fille en auguilles haha. two of my unicorns ill never have
As a relative newbie to the hobby, I have to say that I'm stunned by your collection and knowledge. How long have you been collecting and how (not really my business but I'm curious) can you afford to have so many, especially the vintage ones?
Dont listen to Andy lol I have been collecting for about a decade... it takes time to build up your collection... dont try and get everything all at once 🙂
Fendi Fendi (aka signature) - I do not understand it, kinda boring tbh, not for me Halston Z-14 - would smell really cool on a dude Hermes - Caleche - got myself a vintage edt 240ml flacon a few weeks ago for an extremely good price from a trusted source :) love it, worn it just once and got a compliment. It's not like a care for complements at all, but doesn't hurt to get one either 😄
What a great masculine note, I love the cypress in the Encre Noire line. Tam Dao, Dior Higher, Apex, and Abraj are others on the list that I enjoy among others. It's not my favorite note, but it started this journey for me. Gant Adventure from what I can remember was my first fragrance when I was younger, it is discontinued now. It had cypress, lemon, coriander, musk, and lemon. It was a cheapie after all but a pretty good one. It's great to see another note video, Ram!
Thanks, I really appreciated that and it gave some nice pointers to explore. In terms of ‘missed’, it’s just newer stuff. I think Paris - Édimbourg by Chanel is worth sniffing and Costa Azzurra by Tom Ford is good, aqua, EdP or parfum depending on the wind direction. It will scratch the Italian Cypress itch.
@@dusanninic5372 I do especially if there is winds outside. When this settles down, it smells very close to Royal Water. It is a green fresh spicy scent. It is definitely interesting to smell, or get a whiff every now and then.
If you ever get a chance to pick up L'eau Bleue d'Issey, it's probably the most accessible designer cypress that's done well. Super cheap and discontinued now...I think? Also think L'eau d'Issey Sport is on the chopping block because it just started to appear at this drugstore discount rack we have up here in Canada. Usually a place where perfumes come to die. 😄 I'll give L'Occitane's Eau des Baux a shout out too. Although a very simple fragrance, it always had that holiday x-factor for me. A perfect blend of incense, cypress and vanilla.
Hello my brother 👍🌹 Very nice review as always I think you missed a very important fragrance to be included in this list Which is Gucci guilty absolute
Sad to see no Gucci Guilty Absolute or “A Midnight Stroll” from the Gucci Alchemist line (I think you own that too). That’s got a huge cypress note with the Cade and incense. Nice work though, I appreciate your effort!
Yes you are correct ... all apologies... Rich Mitch let me know of the Gucci Guilty Absolute & I will add A Midnight Stroll to the list .. Thank you 🙏🙏🙏🥳
@@RamseytheRam No worries. There’s only so much free real estate in our minds to draw memory from. I’m just ready for a Cypriol part 2. That note has moved way up my list of favs. Thanks though, take care!
Hahahaha can’t wait for you to bash azzarro. It’s so over rated yet so many UA-camrs talk about it but then you check online and no one even mentions azzarro 😂 also Free water from work slaps different 😂😂😂
Because many people are cheap. They only know designers . Over 150$ is soooo expensive to them , yet they’ll buy some bullshit like Jordan’s , car parts , fly places to go see some sport game.

Thanks so much for being here with us Rachel 🥂
I really enjoy Costa Azzura Parfum by Tom Ford, as a cypress-forward scent that is really great. Thanks for this video Ramsey!
I need to spend some time with Costa Azzura one of these days 🙂🤞
My favorite note !

Thanks Ramsey. I am still in love with Halston Z-14
Me 2... going to make a hall of fame review of Halston Z-14 soon 💪🐏
I saw the Siam (I think) in the thumbnail- I picked up CSiam on your recommendation.
That is Mousse Illuminee ... but Chypre Siam is amazing too 😇

Montana Comore is really nice, specially the dry down, thou if u overspray it can get quite syntetic.
