So I had my Excalibur 9 tray dehydrator for 9 month and many of you were asking how am I getting on with it. in this video I cover pros and cons and hopefully help you make the decision weather to buy Excalibur or not! I'm surprised for that money it isn't better quality. Look at the build quality of an equally priced microwave. I've only got a cheap stacker but love it. Thanks Ana.
I know, that’s why I wanted to return it initially. I used to have Andrew James stackable one, had it for 10+ years it was time to upgrade 😊
Very interesting review, thank you. I'm very surprised though, as every other youtuber "loves" their excaliber and has never mentioned the leaking and sweating issue. That's not someting to gloss over in my mind. That is a MASSIVE thing to mention. Also, no comments in chat who also have them have mentioned the leaky issue. So.... I'm wondering, do you have a dodgy machine and need to return it pronto before the year is out? Did your other dehydrators also leak? I'm extremely interested, because buying a dehydrator is on my list for this year. The Andrew James has been sitting in my basket on Amazon for a long time! Did your old AJ one have the leaky issue?
It all depends what people dehydrate and if you just leave it running for 6 hrs the water will evaporate and may not notice that it was sweating . It sweats through gaps in the door as moisture has no way to escape so I understand why, it’s not faulty. The Andrew james has a fan at the bottom and blows up, with mine I had wholes on the top layer lid for moisture to escape. The lid would steam up but soon clears through the holes upwards. With Excalibur the only holes are sides of the door so moisture collect on the door and drips down,the rest is blown from the sides as condensation. Hope that makes sense. It only does this a lot with high moisture content foods
I had one of these for several years I used it for beef jerky but I would say be careful as the plastic door / casing does become brittle after a couple of years

I have one like that and I have never had the problems you're talking about. I love mine. I would return that for another one, mine is also very quiet.
Not even a tiny amount of sweating? The moisture has nowhere to go as there is no holes other than side of the door so where does the moisture goes in yours ?
@@AnasFoodLifestyle Mine has little slits across the back where the fan is. Maybe that's why it's so quiet. I've never had a problem with moisture on the front either. I also use a little bleach water to soak the mats in when they get bad looking. You can also buy the mat material in most any store that sells crafts or sewing supplies (where material and stuff is} and cut to fit the trays. It's much cheaper than buying replacements from them. I do know that if you put things in and have the heat too high it will take forever to dry, same as if they're too wet they will take forever! Ask me how I know. I do rotate my trays half way through and swap out which level they are on. It also seems to make a big difference and is really quick to do. Just give them 180* turn and shuffle them around a little on the mat. This is very quick once you do it a lot. If I can help with anything else let me know.

Stackable ones are great, I had mine over 10 years still do the job !
