It's a Packard...they just call it an (eastern agate basin) even though the packard is dated further back and not even in the same complex as the agate basin lol....I had to do my research but an authenticator out of Oklahoma identified it for me! Boy was I happily surprised!

@eastcoastlithics1398 yes but they are thicker and form a diamond cross section in the middle of the point which an AB doesnt..and the flaking can be oblique, transverse, collateral or random, which is odd to me but wtvr 😆 and they are ground from base to 1/3 or 1/2 the way up the point!

It was identified by an authenticator out of Oklahoma....it's not an agate basin..it is a Packard (aka eastern agate basin) yet they arent from the same complex. Packards can be oblique, collateral (which this point is) or random flaking. I have 4 Nebo and 5 sedalias none of which are close to this point. The very ground basil and halfting edges along with the pressure flaked Edgework was a dead giveaway I guess. I thought what you thought at first tho!

I hunt a few counties, actually one of my favorites is in your county..I almost went there this morning but I'm gonna hit it during the week, I have permission for about 3 miles of a creek on the northern part of your county! I'm always looking for new areas! That area is very thick with nice artifacts. I hunt every county from Marion county to as far south as Franklin and gasconade. I live just north of st. Charles county
