    Thank you! Thank YOU! THANK YOU!!! I've looked at a few different videos trying to figure this out & I just could not wrap my brain around it. Something about the way you explained it, finally made it click for me! Maybe it was the 4 different colors but always starting with black (or whichever one you started with first). Anyway, I'm using my kids old denim jeans to make dog toys for our 1 year old Boglen (Beagle / Boston Terrier mix). He's a sweetie, but my goodness he goes through store bought toys in an afternoon, even the ones that say their extra tuff & extra expensive $$$. I had a bunch of clothes to take to Goodwill & thought, hold up a second here, I bet I can make him some good toys out of these jeans!!! So here I am! 😂 Sorry for telling ya my life story, but I sure do appreciate the slowed down directions with the colorful fabric. Have a great day!!!

    What a great, straight-forward, and easy to follow tutorial! Is the finished size of the toy similar to the length of fleece that you cut?
    I am interested in making this into a fleece leash tug toy for dog agility. I thought I could modify your tutorial to make it go over a leash, or use one strand of leash instead of fleece. Just wondering how long of strips I should cut for a 6ft leash. Thanks!

    • @renate19861958
      @renate19861958  Рік тому

      No. The one you see in the tutorial is 1” wide by 10” I believe. And I’ve done 2” by 20”.
      Sadly I’m not mathematical enough I figure ratios. So I experiment. About double the length of what you want the toy to end up being would be a good start?

    If anyone's ever been to 4-H camp or any kind of summer camp, and you had those plastic lace things I can't think of what they're called. But you learn how to do this not as a friendship bracelet with those things. So there's another way to do it as well

    • @renate19861958

    • @renate19861958
      @renate19861958  Рік тому

      Hmmm…I suppose you could. Not sure how to do the ends. The hardest part is how long 3 pieces of solid fleece strip you’d need. May be better off using three loooonnnggg lengths of rope. Then google knots (sailing sites) and find a knot that does what you want with the ends you are using. I imagine mountain climbing sites can help with that as well.

  • @maryannjackson1979

      I would not cut the ends of the fleece but just fold them half when you are starting the toy - so make it out of two longer bits placed down in a "plus" as the start of the video showed... just fasten them together with a safety pin so they don't slip apart..... then instead of a knot on both ends you would have a knot on the finishing end and a loop on the starting end where you can then attach the keyring...
