I really like the technique you use with your thumb holding the space that's going to be needed for the final piece to tuck through.

i make beds & blankets for my locl vets office and i use fleece. 1) definitely not a durable cloth for a large dog toy. 2) for ease i was going to make those little fleece knot blankets. he said no, bc the dogs will chew the end off after the knot. and it can be a choking hazard. so i would definitely take the extra time to sew in the ends no matter what type of cloth you are using. Think about the ones that are sold in the stores. they are generally made out of a nylon. much sturdier than any cloh. they have ends and the first thing that happens is that they get frayed.

A great tutorial, mine turned out quite well so I'm happy!😊
On another note, I know you said thickness and length don't necessarily matter, but it would've been nice to have the option, though a fab video other all and quick and easy to follow👍

the thickness will depend on the type of cloth you use and how tightly you pull it. The length is totally up to you. that will depend on how long your strips of cloth you use. to do a test piece just use some scraps with the material you plan on using. that will give you an idea how many inches of cloth will give you how many inches of rope, Keep in mind also hat her dog looked like it was a smaller breed. so i'm not sure how well it would hold up as a chew toy for a large dog using that type of material. you may consider using something more substantial than a fleece. i use old denim jeans that i'm about to throw out and repupose them. my friend ahs a pittie/black mouth cur mix and a and a labradoodle. i also take the time to sew in the ends. i make little dog kennel beds for my vet's office and he asked that they don't have any thing that hangs off. as they will chew them off and choking hazard.
