I love how raimi didn’t cheap out and have Peter’s powers come back to him last second. He rescued her by sheer will and determination
Anime lol
No. They returned just as mj is in danger. Poor little girl in danger. Not good enough for spiderman. Scream alot mj. Powers.
Sort of, he had fraction of his powers. Otherwise its impossible to hang out on cliff with one hand and hold 20kg in the other hand, and still make it up. Especially someone as physically.weak as Peter Parker.
The little girl actually helped him ip

I love when the guilt hits Peter when he found out he couldn’t save everyone. That moment always hit me pretty hard. This movie is absolutely incredible.
And that's the second time guilt hits Peter and another death on his conscience.
It's as Peter Porker lectured that they can't save everyone.
It’s not his fault, he didn’t cause the fire.
@@yulenherraizrodriguez8123 he had the power to save everyone. i mean not anymore obviously but this is after he conciously gave up being spider-man cause it was just too heavy on him
@@yulenherraizrodriguez8123 The thing about this scene is that if he was still Spider-Man and still had his powers, he could have EASILY saved everyone in that burning building. But because he gave it up and he was back to being just Peter Parker, this was the consequence.
Despite rescuing a child, risking his own life, Peter Parker is in grief because he could not rescue more people. Peter Parker is a guy with a golden heart. He doesn't deserve Spider-Man, Spider-Man deserves Peter Parker.
Well said
Best take!!
You should've thought of that earlier

That's what makes peter parker amazing. He values every single life of human, and he tries to save as many as he could.
The scene where the little girl helped Peter up is very wholesome. It actually reflects on the fact that superheroes aren't people who do all the work themselves and are all ok on their own. They are just those who inspire others to work together towards a goal. Wonderful direction!
I always loved that at every opportunity he gets, Raimi shows that the people care for spiderman - even if its not him directly here.
Reflection of Aunt May’s speech in SM2 as well
I actually believe that is the whole point of the film too - how actually important Spider-Man is to his city.
Somebody in another comment section once said this little girl would grow up to become Silk.
That was my favorite moment too😊
Gotta love how Peter still went inside the building and saved the little girl even if his powers didn't work. That's a true hero right there.

That’s the thing about being a hero. You can’t always save everyone.
Save the ones you can.
Yeah..my foster father, firefighter, had to retire due to injuries sustained while rescuing a little kid.
Cost him his career, but...he did what was needed, when it was needed
always think about the people you've saved rather than those you couldn't
I know what u mean
just like with Gwen in The Amazing Spider-Man 2
The fact he still ran to rescue people without his powers show his powers don’t define him but his heart does.

Tom Holland's Peter: "bUt i'M nOThiNg WiTHouT ThE sUIt!"
Tobey Maguire's Peter: loses his suit and powers and still ran into a burning building to save the girl.

Training is nothing. Will is everything. The will to act.
-Ra's Al Ghul
However, in this case you could replace "training" with powers and it would have the same meaning.
@@jpowel He's right. Tom Holland's Spiderman is a bitch compared to Tobey's.
Such a perfect scene.
- The burning building is a perfect metaphor for the consequences of Peter giving up Spider-Man; crime rates are up 75%, innocent people are suffering, NCY is essentially going up in flames.
But Peter decides he can’t stand aside, it’s his duty and nature to help people, and he does it without the suit. The suit doesn’t define him, it’s the man under it that does.
- This is what makes Peter such a great hero; in spite of all the hardships of life, when his life would probably be better if he just hung up the mask, he still chooses to be Spider-Man because it’s the right thing to do, because *with great power comes responsiblity.*
This one scene is exactly what Spider-Man is all about.
Spider-Man 2 is the perfect Spider-Man film. I doubt any film could ever dethrone it.
Its more so that Peter Parker can't save New York, only spiderman can. Peter can save a single life, but only spiderman could have saved the person on the fourth floor

I absolutely believe that this scene is one of the pivotal moments in the franchise. Yup... That's how u make them PEOPLE
Not some cgi dolls who needs a lift
They can do good too and that's something this trilogy mastered UNLIKE ANY OTHER SUPERHERO MOVIE EVER
Much like anime
@Alejandro Morales mention a superhero movie where a child genuinely helps the hero
Especially a movie from recent times...oh wait there is no civilian to begin with in mcu movies 😂 just cgi army vs actors lol
@@yokokurama5174 Ironman 3 has a kid help. But yeah spiderman trilogy is the best hero films
This whole sequence looks so freaking real. It really feels like Peter is inside a burning building.
@Gabe Stein another grammer hero
@Gabe Stein how to english use gramma r proepely plez tech me i nob xd
Coz not everything is cgi here... In mcu behind the scenes is a man on a computer typing vigorously 😂
@Gabe Stein sorry bruh english is not my first languaje
@@lester3917 you used it correctly. We all got what you meant. That guy was just a pretentious asshole
Here is where he became Spider-Man again, despite not having his powers, Peter chose what’s right before himself knowing well that he could’ve die in that fire. Despite the odds, he still managed to make it out alive with the little girl, but sadly didn’t have his spider sense and didn’t realize someone else was there. But even if he did, he wouldn’t be able to save that person with out his powers. That realization at the end of fire made him wish he still had those powers and haven’t gave up his role as the Web-head the city needs. Being Spider-Man is more than just his powers, but the core of the character of putting others before himself, just like Uncle Ben said:
*”With great Power, comes great Responsibility.”*
I love that the entire premise of the second movie was based off that iconic quote alone. Literal masterpiece.
The part where the little girl was helping Peter made me all awwwwhhhh 😍😍 By being a hero himself, Peter actually created another hero! Brilliant storytelling and direction there!
I like how he just handed the kid too the first asian couple he saw.
and he is white lol blm will eat him if he did that today and the whole movie will be boycotted
It could of been kim Jong-un and Xi Jinping standing their 😂😂
Better representation than modern movies
Seriously? Is that really necessary to bring up.
At least there is an asian couple in the movie😂
Asians in mcu are dressed as insects... Gotg😂
I am 24 now, and I have not seen this scene in over 10 years, but the look on Petes face when the fireman says some poor soul was trapped and never made it out the 4th floor, still makes me really sad
One of my favourite scenes in all Spiderman films the little girl also deserves alot of praise she did really well for how young she is
Holland: "I'm nothing without the suit"
Maguire, without powers *or* a suit: "I missed the part where that's my problem"
“With great power comes great responsibility” Peter always had the will to save lives even without the powers and the Spider-Man suit. True hero shit
He lost his power, not his courage... Nobody can replace him as a spider man🕸️🕷️❤️
True!
No one notice how he tossed the little girl up there? lol 1:53
That's exactly what I'm saying 😂 Spidey strength was always in him 😂
2:09 the kid is helping
I still cant believe my childhood hero is coming back! 😭
"My back!"
"My back" indeed 😄 I love Toby
Still feels unreal !!! 😭
It was beyond adorable when the little girl tried to help Peter up.
I think this might be my favorite scene in the whole Spider-Man trilogy. Spider-Man 2 was just fantastic at showing Peter Parker and how he needed to overcome his depression/self doubt to get his confidence back in order to get his powers back, as well as become Spider-Man again.
2:26 Bruh, the parents didn't even thank him
Ahh yess, parents gonna thank someone before taking care of ur own child
@@ruby-brawlstars8540 How long does it take to thank someone? Less than 5 seconds. They dont have to start a dramatic thank you speech. A simple thank you would do if this is in real life. I mean he just saved your child, no suit no powers or anything.
Peter actually just went to the first Asian couple he saw. That girl isn't even their kid
@@cooliostarstache5474 That is completely incorrect. She said to the mother: "Mama." And she kisses her.
They were only speaking Chinese which means they probably COULDN'T thank him. I'm pretty sure they wanted to do it, but were not ABLE to. If you speak another language than the other person, you can't understand a word they say.
I love how that little girl tried to pull Peter up when he was hanging on the ledge, that was just adorable to me
Tobey Maguire, is so perfect in the role of Peter Parker, he brings such a great sensitivity, that really shines in this movie!
A true hero knows you can't save everyone but you can at least save the ones you can reach to
This scene truly made Peter understand what being a hero is all about, not just because of the powers and super strength, but because of him being a good person with a heart made of gold.
Tobey Maguire will be always remain as our real spider man. Nobody can replace him.
You said it
Tom Holland "im nothing without this suit"
Toby " hold my little girl".
That's the difference between boys and men
Bruh watch the whole homecoming movie bro
@@lodostic1015 why? Was Tom's Spider-Man powerless anywhere in the movie?
@@thanosmadtitan7475 not powerless but a 15yo kid newly introduced to his powers and he lost it because he got completely dependent on the suit that's why he couldn't lift the rock he got trapped-in in the first try but slowly he tried again and again and got his powers back
@@lodostic1015 and Toby's Peter never had an AI assisted multi billion doller suit, with which he managed to save mj, a ropeway wagon full of passengers, while battling with goblin , a speeding train full of peoples.
He is the real peter parker who never gives up and save people without the suit and with the suit
"If you are nothing without the suit, you shouldn't have it" moment
When the little girl said "mama" that bit is adorable.
2:41, The hardest part about this job is, you can’t always save everyone
Who?I just heard "Never maked it out"
@@hellogoodbye5195, he said “poor soul” as well
@@hellogoodbye5195 from into the spider verse
Yeah I think that's a bad message for superheroes. You wanna save lives? DO IT! JUST DO IT! DON'T LET ANYONE TELL YOU WHO YOU CAN OR CANNOT SAVE!
Still get goosebumps. Can't get enough of this spiderman will always remain evergreen.
0:33 fact: you can see Peter turning left to enter the building, while there's a sign of 'Don't turn left'
I really like how he didn't hesitate the second he heard a child was probably stuck inside.
Even without powers he had the courage to be someone's superhero, rip to the one he couldn't save. He tried his best. :(
It also shows him he can't always save everyone regardless of powers or not.
@@anthonygarcia8749 he feels guilty because he knew that if he had his full powers, he could have saved both of them easily
Tobey is the best spiderman of all time, even without powers he still saves people. With great power comes great responsabilities
This scene still gives me chills and fills me with heroism. Its my favourite scene in the entire trilogy.
