Hey guys. I need your help! If you could like, share or comment on the video that would really helo. I accidentally uploaded it yesterday and then rescheduled it for today. I should have reuploaded it. So, UA-cam thinks it sucks because it was posted a day ago and only has 100 views. So, I need to get this one back on track. Devon's story is incredible, we just need the video to get pushed. Thx! Tom
devon has such an inspiring story, it was incredible to hear from him. i think what i love most about tom’s interview style is that he is just so authentic, kind, and engaged with each person he speaks to. THIS is why so many people come on this show and talk to him. awesome episode
I'm cool you guys vibe with this one. Wasn't sure how it would go over because a lot of us don't know anything about art. But I think his message just shined through,
As someone with panic disorder, this changed my life man, just simply focusing on moving forward brings me peace, great interview Tom! #wardheads #tomcats
I'm glad it helped! Since I have battled with mental health issues my whole life, whenever someone talks about their mental health struggles, I hop on it because I know a lot of people go through similar stuff
Very interesting interview! Devon's story about having panic attacks about having his name out there and not wanting to show himself and only show the art was moving. You can tell his heart is truly in it for the art.
A deeply spiritual person practicing a genuine humility. On the panic attack bit .. “helping others ultimately helps you” so so good . Big fan of his work and his spirit ✨ 10/10 interview 🙌🏼
Thanks Ian! And you're not a loser. $55k in student debt is nothing. I know that may sound crazy to you now but you'll get out of this and laugh that $55k worried you to death at one point. You got this!
Thanks big Tom but you'll know how it is, when you're in the low, no matter what anyone says very little gets through - I'm looking forward to the show tonight! @@thetomwardshow
Hey Tom!! I subscribed because of H3 and truly thought your story was very motivated(and of course wanted to help out the family). Honestly it was just today I decided to fully sit down and listen and thumbs up one of your interviews to help get your channel out there. But the first five minutes really grabbed me spiritually and emotionally. Thank you for having this artist on and letting him tell his honest story to his own success, no matter how dark or “unpopular” it is. Thanks for motivating me today to keep going and look for my passion in life. You keep it real. Your kids are learning the most valuable life lessons of love and loyalty to yourself from you, and I’m sure from your wife too:) thanks Tom. And PLEASEEEE interview Katya Zamolodchikova the drag queen!!! Brian McCook. I know they have had the most insane rise to success through honesty and emotion and I’m sure you guys would hit it off. Please!! Would love to see her and you and learn so much more about how to be true to yourself. Sending Love♡ success is a personal story:)
Also to mention their struggle with addiction but how they still put themselves out there to begin their drag career. I think it would be a ginormous hit!!!
Olivia! Thanks so much for these kinds words and for taking the time to write them down. You made my day. And I'll check those people out too. I love people who bounce back from their struggles.
i’ve always been an artist but never thought i’d have the drive to support myself entirely by it, new age tech has made it a lot easier but it always seems like a constant battle when i just want something stable. great insights with this interview, thank you tom
Thank you and thank Devon! I respect artists so much because it's such a long shot to actually be able to make a living at it. But I like how he defines success. He's happy to just have the greatest job in the world. Not the money or the fame or prestige. He's doing it for the love of the game
Thanks Mega! And that's really what it was. Just a conversation with a super talented, interesting guy The goal is always for it to seem like two people just hanging out,
Being an artist, it is definitely the best job in the world! We are so lucky to have this ability. It is incredible when someone sees something in you, that sometimes we don't see ourselves. What a great interview!! 🎉😀
I love his perspective. Just entering my 30s and I’ve thought so many times about the effect that social media performance has had on my generation of my spacers and then Facebookers and then Twitter users, but I could never put it quite as beautifully as Devon has. Bravo!
Wow, this interview with Tom Ward and Devon DeJardin is truly insightful! 🎙 I was eager to learn more about Devon's expertise in art and how he got to where he is and how it relates to personal and business growth. The conversation touched on so many key points, and I appreciate the in-depth insights they shared. If you're looking to understand devon as an artist or how he arrived at this destination, this video is a must-watch. Tom and Devon really break down success when you arent sure where to go and struggling with society telling you who you should be and what you should be doing. I think Tom is a great representation of chasing your dreams and not giving up. Thanks for sharing this valuable content! 🚀
Wow! What an incredible interview! Devon definitely found his calling and his story is inspiring. And he's also profoundly talented! Amazing content. I would've never heard of this guy if it weren't for you, Tom 💜
He''s a big deal iin the art world but normal people like us don't know him. I was blown away by his story and since I loved it, I thought you would too!
this guy tom responded to every comment, he deserves all the support in the world! i’ll be waiting for the next ep! this dude had a really cool vibe. great story.
Of course Caden! Including yours! Look, for years almost no one commented on my videos. Now, that the H3 fam has come over and shown overwhelming support, how could I not take the time responding to everyone. I miss some but I probs respond to 90% of them.
@@thetomwardshow i love art it's my passion i spent all my free time drawing, painting, sewing, collaging, etc etc but i'd hesitate to call myself an actual artist bc i dont feel i've earned that title
Amazing interview. The part about anxiety/mental health issues keeping us grounded and humbled really spoke to me. I think it's really helped me in my career when i reflect on it... as much as I i feel its taken away from me I have to acknowledge their are positives too.
For sure. I can relate to the mental health struggle. Not sure if you saw last week's video about my depression journey. But yeah, it's robbed me of so much time for sure. But it def has made more emphatic. I'd rather have the time back but that's a good gift.
Yeah, I love bringing stories like this to light. And he doesn't do a lot of interview. Hardly ever. So, I'm honored he invited me into his studio to tell me his story,
You are a great interviewer!! The way you are genuinely interested in what all of your guests are saying really shines through, and I believe it results in people being more vulnerable with you. Love it, keep it up man!!
I'm sorry to hear that. I'm Bipolar 2 but I've had several panic attacks and they're the scariest thing ever. I hope you can get a handle on them. That can't be easy.
Really neat story. Makes me wonder what hidden talent I could have? A lesson to always be willing to try new things, you never know, it could be your calling.
It's true! I say it all the time. Everyone is really good at at least one thing. The only thing I'm really good at is talking to people. I wish I could play in the NBA but this is what I've got:) You've got something special too. You'll find it:)
It's my fault. I totally fucked up. My editor uploaded it yesterday and it went live for like 20 mins before I caught it and rescheduled it for this morning. I should have deleted and reuploaded it. Now, the algo hates the video because they see a video that's been up for 24 hours that has like no views. so, no one got a notfication. So, I need your guy's help on this one. Thanks I'm glad you liked it. And yeah, I'm liking doing the cool interesting interviews like this. And then doing live streams talking about celebrity drama or what I eat for lunch! Haha.
Not gonna lie this was my favorite Tom ward interview so far. You're definitely going goblin mode because I don't think you asked one generic question. They were all fresh and allowed the artist to show who they are. good work Tom!
Those are beautiful paintings. He’s got a great mindset. I don’t know if people have to be delusional to be wildly successful. They probably need a good combination of drive, talent, connections, optimism, and being in the right place at the right time. I kind of think that sounds daunting, but maybe persistence and an open mind help people find an opportunity when they least expect it. I could learn a lot from a person like this. It’s good to hear someone who had a great story and really developed a skill out of some serendipitous turns of events. I think religious history is one of the more thought provoking subjects, and it’s cool to hear that this guy connected with someone else over that.
He's an incredible artist. And I think we're saying the same thing. When I say you have to be delusional, I more meant that you have to be delusional to everyone else. You believe in going in a different kind of direction and maybe you never even tried it before and you definitely don't have any evidence that people will even like it. But you're right. It's just having that inner belief that of course it will work. How could it not? Everyone I've interviewed has had that one thing in common.
Haha. Me tooi! I actually like learning the nuts and bolts of it too. Where do their ideas come from. Do they put them in a notebook, their phone, etc. Where do they get inspiration from etc,
good choice of interviewee -- interesting background story although he was a bit shy but the journey was very interesting to hear. hope you guys stay in touch so we can have occasional (or more) updates on his art. also wish you'd shown the second painting, i love the colours in it. 💙
I found that most interesting part. In an age we’re we’re told that we have to be posting a million times a day to be successful it’s nice to see someone who is successful without doing it
It's always so surprising when I see that you post and there are no views. You're so good at selling us on the person being interviewed and the interviews themselves are incredible. WOM
This interview was so amazing - to see such humility, grace and wisdom in such a young man was fascinating. As I previously told you, I suffer from very resistant depression and anxiety and I found myself envious of this artist’s ability to find peace through something he loves so much. It’s like he is his art and his art is him. I hope one day to be able to see his work because just glancing at the backdrop in this story gave me peace and comfort. I wish him the very best the world has to offer bc he represents something we should all strive to be and to do. Thank you for introducing us to him and his work. Can you please let us know when his work will be on exhibit in NY? I’m sure I could never afford to be a part of it but I would love to just be there to support him and possibly catch a glimpse of the beauty he brings to this world.
Yeah, we couldn't show a lot because they were unfinished pieces but I'm sure if you googled his art a bunch of stuff would pop up. And check out his IG.
Thanks I'm glad you liked it. Wasn't sure if you would like it because it's not the kind of interview that blows up. But I think this one will hang around for a while because he drops so many timeless gems.

It's so rare to actually make a living as an artist. It's just so hard. Same thing with musicians. I respect artists so much
Devon is the epitome of following your passion and never giving up 😊
Truth, him and Doni. So wild that two guys who grinned it out in LA at the bottom, grew to be so successful. Inspiring stories for anyone!

Really interesting character. Wish we could see more examples of his art in the video
Yeah, we couldn't show a lot because they were unfinished pieces but I'm sure if you googled his art a bunch of stuff would pop up. And check out his IG.
🔥🔥🔥
Thanks! Glad you liked it!

Thanks I'm glad you liked it. Wasn't sure if you would like it because it's not the kind of interview that blows up. But I think this one will hang around for a while because he drops so many timeless gems.
it deserves and should have billions of views ... an incredible story ... @@thetomwardshow
