Thanks! We didn't have the anemometer yet and were basing it off of shore-based forecasts. It was our biggest wind yet when we filmed it... this boat is a blast!
Hi Franklin, we've never sailed a 26X, but do know that they are very different boats. The 26D (Daggerboard) and 26S (Centerboard) versions of the Mac 26 are collectively called 26C (Classic), and they were created as traditional trailerable sailboats. The largest motor size is 10 hp, and it does not have a planing hull. The 26M and 26X came later as a hybrid sailboat-powerboat that can handle a much larger motor, has two rudders (instead of just one), I believe it has a planing hull and you can dump the water ballast while motoring to switch to powerboat mode. They made a lot of cabin changes, as well. As to how they sail, though, I'm not sure if the X or M behave like the classics or not on the wind. Thanks for watching!
Love the boat and the way you sail it. You know, I really enjoy the sound of wind in the sails and water against the hull - I have never once wished that my sailing could be accompanied by annoying techno music. I guess there are some who just can't experience a thrill without a sound track.
You guys make it look so fun!!!
Thanks for the weather description. Looks like a little over 15 knots.

@@headoverheelssailing8962 just mailed the deposit for 1 yesterday. Might be a couple weeks before I pick it up. Can't wait :-)

Salty! Nice video. Trusting crew.
Thanks for the kind words, Don! The crew on SV Wanderlust is *amazing*!! (And beautiful, too!)
how does the 26s sail compared to the 26x?

How many reefs do you have in your main sail?
Hi! We had two reefs in our main during this video. The only two we got! :)
@@headoverheelssailing8962 I just ordered a new sail with 2 reefs in it because of you! Thank you! I have the same model of boat as you.

Thanks for being our first snarky comment... we were waiting for it! haha
