I love ❤️ kakanin …But my Favorite one is Biko puto Cassava with Coconut filling and Sapin sapin Only Those 3 … They have some here in the U.S. But they are not good as the one in The Philippines..🤗🥰🙏👍👍👌
To have a gelatinous consistency they use gelatinous rice or locally known as "malagkit". That type of kakanin can be pouned to powder to create such delicacies. Usually eaten during fiestas or parties, but it can also be consumed without any relevant occasions. I like to take it with coffee ☕☕☕
Dye is not being used most of the kakanin. We used Ube for purple color, Orange or red color from atsuete or anatto, white for natural milk whether from dairy or coconut. Pink and green (pandan) color perhaps from the food coloring.
For breakfast it's best eaten with coffee, however it's nice to pair it fruit juice of course if you have money, good also with icecold soft drinks when eaten during merienda.
Dessert you can eat any time specially when you have special occasion or snack every day 😂 when you prepare for kakanin specially sticky glutinous powder no added gelatin just sugar and coconut milk its very natural sticky
