Thank you Dada! This is indeed a very controversial topic. Many consumer societies will totally disagree with you. They will not throw tomatoes at you but fire canons! I still feel that Aparigraha makes a lot of sense in today's world. It's not about giving up everything but about using our resources properly. I find the concept very practical.

Thank you dada, for another well explained topic. I'm so grateful to have found your channel last year, each time I'm amazed at how relevant these ancient teachings are today. I am sure that there are a lot of people in the world that do not find this principle controversial, but very needed instead - I know I do. And I had a good laugh with what you said about hoarders, so true!

Dada, i focused on one Yama a week and have watched your Videos many times over. Also i consulted books and the Internet but i liked you Explanation the most and didn´t get tired of watching them again and again. Thank you very much.
On the Topic of aparigraha: A few years back I possessed a lot of stuff and after a breakup i decided i had to give away what i couldn´t use. I was a long process in which my mind tried to trick me many times. Indeed i feel better having less stuff. It´s cleaner, less distracting and easier.
However I have also had the Problem that i don´t want to spend Money on some things that would be trouly good for me. Some investments that I thought for a long time i enjoy very much. I think for me it´s to find what really makes me happy. Sometimes it´s not having a Thing, but it can be having another thing, too. In the end I am just another Person I am helping to be happy. This Yama will be an exercise in balance, concious consumption and self love for me.
    Namaste

Thank you again Dada for getting me back from Maya perspective. It's so beautiful and so simple but in the same time it is so serious, it seems that we are so immature in the human evolutionary, it seems that we are going to the highest level of our negative mental propensities until some "Big Bang" or something that will change our psyche will change us to leave as we really are, Supreme Consciousness or do you believe that change will happening in individual level, that in same speed it really is happening? Namaskar!

Dada, I love reading books. I try my best to only read a little bit everyday, but once I get ahead in the book and am enjoying it, I keep reading obsessively for hours and want to finish the book before I do anything else. I tell myself I will not read anymore,, that this is the last book, as reading prevents me from getting anything else done. Am I addicted? I guess you can call this as over-indulgence as well. Dada, do you ever struggle with over-indulgence? Is there anything you have trouble resisting and need to practice self-restraint with?

Dada it confusing letting the material world go, because much of my energy is focused on making money, like working and looking for shows to play (I am a musician) although I have applied these teachings to my life because I believe higher being has been looking after me giving me everything I need (Because I am doing what God wants me to do) am I supposed to stop working and looking for work and just let things happen?

🙏 The Spiritual Approach is: Subjective Approach, and Objective Adjustment. It means to start changing ourselves, and still make adjustment to the World, until We can help make the World change. Let's say some of Us have Evolved to Highly Elevated Spiritual Beings, but the World hadn't. So the Higher Spiritual Beings, have to make the ( Objective) Adjustment to the World, and work to increase the Evolvement of the Collective. Even in the arts community, if everyone thinks everything is about business, they would expect the artists to perform the way they want. In the Spiritual Community, it's a choice to be in a Spiritual Family. If someone decides to join the Spiritual Family, the Spiritual Father will take care, of the minimum needs. Without a personal relationship to the Spiritual Father, no one will guarantee the minimum needs. It's a give and take. It's choosing to join the Spiritual Family, or working in a business? You want to take the good part of the Spiritual Family and the Good part of your job, which is your income? Both come with requirements: Spiritual Family: Discipline. Income: do what your customers want. You want both? Then join the Spiritual Family with Discipline, and work with your customers so, together, the Relationships change from business, to Selfless- service to others. Your income will not be a Business contract, but gifts from the Heart. BnK 🌅🧘🌄

I am impressed by the explanation of Aparigraha.I am still not able to understand why do we still have a communist mindset other than the acceptance of the Capitalist system{which in my opinion is the right system for delivery of well being to the humanity]where probably 10 people would inherit about 50% of the world wealth.Let me know why the non acceptance of these guys and hope they deliver to the well being of the humanity as probably you and I would deliver. Thanks and appreciate your understanding and interests in the well being of humanity.

I understand that it is a way to one's happiness.. I agree .. I know it's part of one of our Upanishads reaching.. but I see a loophole here at a macro scale .. it has also some resemblance to the core of communism which no country practically implemented .. in other words, communism may have taken this idea somehow.. but what is the incentive of good work.. or will there be any competition.. ?

    2 Corinthians 6:14-18
    Warning Against Idolatry
14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? 15 What harmony is there between Christ and Belial[a]? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? 16 What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said:
    “I will live with them
    and walk among them,
and I will be their God,
and they will be my people.”[b]
    17 Therefore,
    “Come out from them
    and be separate,
    says the Lord.
    Touch no unclean thing,
    and I will receive you.”[c]
    18 And,
“I will be a Father to you,
and you will be my sons and daughters,
    says the Lord Almighty.”

Namaskar Dada. I wanted to ask you a question about Guru. It may sound bit weird, may I consider somebody as Guru who has departed already? In my case, I could connect to the songs, poetry and phylosophy of Rabindranath Tagore so deeply that I feel like He is the Guru for me. Is it possible?

    • @MeditationSteps
      @MeditationSteps  4 роки тому +1

Yes, it is possible. Though Rabindranath is a madhyama guru (middle grade), he has inspired millions of people with his pure expressions of the higher mind, but still for the spiritual elevation there is a need to be initiated by higher grade of Guru. I too accepted the person who is physically no more and consider myself as his disciple.

30 sec into a video: aparigraha create space! which will be needed in Dharana and Dhyana. ok, let's go on. 8 min. into a video: Aparigraha is is about shifting the desire from outside many desires to only one inner desire. to know and experience the truth about yourself. or maybe better put the desire of freedom. grrrr, please don't mix Sadhanas, Santosha is about something completely different.
12 min into a video: no no no, forget the others, Patanjali was never ever concerned about others. he is concern about individual spiritual progress, nothing more and nothing less. if you need others, do Bhagti Yoga or something else. 14 min. into a video: no no no, if you start to think and even worse, being engaged in saving humanity, saving the planet, you only create more mess. why? because you are the mess, so anything you create will be a mess. go back to your own backyard and clean your own mess. get rid of anything that is not serving you and most importantly stop accumulating. by accumulating I mean body impressions, emotional and mental impressions, and start consciously creating them always anew. why? because all you are up till now is accumulation. this needs to stop or rather shift into a creation. which is everlasting, it is a never-ending process. eh, sorry, but this is by no means all about Aparigraha. as much as I like you as a person, you are under a lot of delusions, and unless you get rid of those, your own spiritual progress will be a long struggle. so my Russian friend, get back to a source (yoga sutra) , and get back to the core of the teachings, not adding, but rather removing interpretations, and then we can talk.
