My brother has ADHD and Autism, hes 19, super introverted, and addicted to his computer. Has mostly only online friends. Super smart and knowledgable but can’t hold a convo in person.
I have ADHD im 17, extroverted, but mostly isolated, dont have many friends, just acquaintances, most people think im weird because i forget how to “act normally” when im around people that make me happy. I guess i cant make other people happy, idk.
I just want compassion for me and my bro,

Id love to be around those that good naturedly forget how they are "expected" to behave, and find it a great human creative characteristic, and inspiring. I wasn't diagnosed or given ADHD meds until I was an adult, and honestly I think that helped me a lot. It's hard to explain but struggling with my mind; all those deeply anxious times where I "overthought", were part of why my memory is so much better than average, and a lot of my ADHD friends seem to share this in common. Instead of focusing on the things I was told to focus on during childhood, I developed some especially creative abilities by obsessively engineering "short cuts" in my own head for creating, filtering, and storing information. I'm being vague because I've seen this sort of thinking applied to a lot of different creative fields including things like engineering.

Careful, the ASD/ADHD comorbidity can make you THINK you are doing this but in actuality they might be only short cuts for yourself. What seems obvious to us can be the total opposite for neurotypicals. I have struggled with overcoming this in my adult life having also only received ADHD medication in the past year... Having a neurotypical partner helps a lot.

@@CS-ee6nl Yeah I agree to an extent. There's absolutely nothing wrong with doing things that work for you and only you though. I also noticed I tend to project criticism and problem solving a lot, and I've figured out that if my gut tells me "this is a great way to do this that will work for everyone because xyz reasons ect..." then I know to apply those solutions or observations strictly to my own life and move on. Sure, I don't really know everyone else's minds and how they work, but my projected assumptions about others reveals habits and patterns about myself that I might not have recognized.

Great point. Very refreshing to see someone else dealing with the same internal 'management' thought processes haha. Does regulating yourself cost a lot of energy? I get very tired from monitoring and moderating my work and interactions too much. Really struggle with that 'move on' part hahaha like I can filter solutions or methods for just myself or hold in ideas and opinions but instead of moving on I get increasingly lonely and exhausted, especially outside of work in my personal life. Can't help but fixate. Gee wonder why (:

I've got a great deal of frustration personally over the level of ignorance about these conditions. I'm fortunate enough to have a psychiatrist that at least is current enough on ADHD to know that the stimulant medication only works if you've got a specific under activation in a specific region of the brain and that you're unlikely to see any positive improvement with medication if you don't.
It's massively frustrating how hard it is to get doctors to consider that older diagnoses may not ever have been accurate due to changes in the understanding of what various conditions are or what other possibilities there might be. In my case, I was never a particularly good fit for most of the diagnoses that I was given, but now I can't get an accurate diagnosis because I'm in my '40s have little memory from when I was a young child and nobody that was in a position to be impartial on what I was doing at the time either.
It's good to see that there's at least an awareness that interacting conditions can cause issues with diagnosis and treatment, but it's cold comfort for those of us that have been victimized twice. Once by being missed in childhood and then by the criteria being yanked back when the problem's true origin becomes apparent.

    Provocative title.
This presentation attempts to provide conclusive evidence that ADHD is unrelated to Autism. You could have both, you have either, you could even have a confused misdiagnosis but they remain separate and distinctly different, even for some superficial similarities.

I definitely have ADHD and often wonder if I have ASD as well because of some symptoms. However, I am not sure I do because I did not have the obsessive sorting behavior seen in many ASD people as a child, and I have an extremely hard time socializing with most ASD people I know, while I get along very well with a minority of ASD people I know. It's very confusing...

Due to the nature of my job I have been unable to try out alot of things, also I tend to be forgetful of things so I went to the hospital and I was asked to conduct some tests. When the doctors told me I had ADHD, and meeting Dr Iyhere after all these so called treatments, my life has been quite difficult.

I am 56 years old and I am female, so it was very unusual for a female child to be diagnosed with ADHD at that time period period I fought my way display through college and now I have my master's degree in social work. Over the last 10 years I have carefully followed Research on ASD, comma and have personally come to the conclusion I had many of the traits of ASD. The problem with diagnosing ASD and ADHD is that the subject is inevitably far more intelligent than the clinician.

Being born this way haven't been funny, during my college days I got tired of taking the medications so I stopped. And my condition got worst. Which made me start looking for a permanent solution when Dr Iyhere's herbal medical page popped up. I took the dosages and followed the prescriptions. I haven't been this active and better in my life.
