- How to change the climate control bulbs in a 2005 Honda CR-V
Part Number I used: 79670-SLO-A01
Climate Control Button Bulb (that I did not replace) is 79672-S3N-N41
Approximately $8 USD for each bulb currently
Just used this video to perform this same replacement. I agree with the other commenters who have said that it is NOT necessary to remove the radio trim piece. You can start at the 1:22 mark and continue from there. The radio trim does not interfere with the removal of the storage drawer.
Also, with all due respect to the kind gentleman who posted this video, at the 2:58 mark he mis-speaks about the screws to be removed. Remove the ones marked with a red "X"; those are the only ones that need to be removed to free the control unit.
When replacing the bulbs, you may have to exert a bit of firm pressure when rotating the new bulbs clockwise - this is normal due to the interference fit that locks the bulbs in place.
Overall, a very helpful video and I appreciate the owner of the video for making it available!
Thank you for this video! You saved me from getting over charged for something I can easily do with a screw driver, 16 bucks and 30 minutes of time
You don't need to remove the black radio frame... I changed my bulbs without removing it... no problems. =)
True, thank you, I did it without taking the radio out too!👍
Greey bulbs number part
Is the speedometer brightness adjustable
I wonder if the light bulbs from the instrument cluster can be placed into the socket of these ones rather than buying the whole piece.
Those are difficult to obtain in my country.
I thinking the same, I believe this are 2721 bulbs or T5 led.
Number part grey bulbs
Great video, thanks for posting.
I'm not too sure I agree that Honda brand replacements are the best bet (4:28). After all, if they were quality parts we wouldn't be here, would we?
Points off for Honda engineering on this one. Designs should be (1) reliable, and (2) inexpensive to fix in terms of both parts and labor if item (1) is ignored or unachievable. Honda failed here on both counts.
A much better design would have been control knobs that simply pull off, affording easy access to screw-in or push-in bulbs. Result: a 90-second job for all three bulbs, no tools required.
Just a heads up, the middle section of the first bulb...you have a letter 'O' and it should be a number zero. 79670-SL0-A01.
Thanks for the video!!
Hello, where did you order the lamps, can you give me a link?
