@@darrylgibson1327 I would consider leasing a Rivian before buying one in this high interest rate environment: IMO Rivian is far superior to a gas car especially if you can charge at home. Also, I got the R1S after owning the R1T for a year. So, adding a second Rivian should show you how I feel about them.
The big benefits to us is the convivence of not having to go to the gas station or the wasted time of going to get routine maintenance, and not knowing if the mechanic is ripping you off. But for me the biggest benefit is the superior driving experience and continuous improvements.

Thanks for the video. Rivian’s lease rates are great right now and maybe after the factory shutdown, especially for the R1T since demand is soft. I’m still very happy with my 22 R1T.

Congrats on the R1S. I love that green interior color. I would've chosen that with my Limestone but I didn't want to add to the expense. Maybe my next Rivian will have that interior. What's interesting is you can return the lease before it's up to exchange it for the R2. The documents I signed specifically say I had to pay if I return it early. But if this was the case, I'm even more excited for the R2.

Thanks! I had it in my last vehicle, and I only used it a few times for the navigation, but The Rivian's navigation is much better than my last vehicle. So, I don't understand what the big deal with Car Play/Android Auto is. Maybe its because I grew up without navigation and cell phones?

Thanks! I really appreciate it!🙏🏽 I would not consider this to be a traditional salesperson since I had already configured a Rivian and placed a deposit. They were trying to move inventory before the end of the quarter, and this was a wise move because I got a much better vehicle at a lower price than the one I configured.

Dropping a quick note to thank you for all the Rivian content. Just ordered a Midnight R1S for the wife last night and looking forward to the experience. We didn't want the Ocean Coast interior but went with it to get a spec as close to the one as we wanted. Would love to hear your thoughts on how it has held up in your vehicles so far, and any tips you have on keeping it clean. We are particularly concerned about dye transfer from clothing.
You're welcome! The Ocean Coast interior has held up very well, and I only cleaned it once. I have no dye transfer either, and I don't baby it at all. I do have a cleaner, but soap and water works well also.

So after I pay my deposit, I get a unit assigned. I found the one I like, and it's ready in less than 2 weeks since it's a my local Rivian dealer. Then I get a guide. I called them today, and asked if I could do 0 down and she said she didn't know. But based on this video, it's up to me to change it to 0. She claims Rivian does not do 0 down, but I told her it was possible. Then I see this video, and BOOM. I'm supposed to pick up one this weekend for a demo drive to make sure I want to lease it. Hope I like it.

Thanks! I asked for their permission, and the sales person even asked me to give out his name and number, but I decided not to. However, as far as recording conversations are concerned it is important to note that under Federal law, 18 U.S.C. § 2511(2)(d) requires only that one party give consent. In addition to this Federal statute, thirty-eight (38) states and the District of Columbia have adopted a “one-party” consent requirement. In other words, you can provide consent to record for both parties if you are part of the conversation.
Also, from what I understand, since Rivian doesn't have dealerships they have to go State by State to get approval to lease their vehicles, and this takes a while depending on the State's laws and regulations.

I gotta stop watching your videos. I’m dying for that R1T, even though I don’t need a truck (😜crazy!), and even though the R1S is smaller, it feels too big. I guess it’s because the cabin of the R1T is smaller than the R1T in my mind. I’d really like a utility EV, and I refuse to buy a Tesla. Guess I will have to wait for the R2 as it seems to check all the boxes.

@@elias38 A Rivian service center which is the same place we took delivery of our R1S. They also have a mobile service, and some things can be fixed over the air.
Great detailed video thank you for making this! Question i have is regarding the taxes. When ive leased in the past, taxes are added to the monthly payment over the lease term. Did you have to pay the taxes all at once instead? Does it depend on the state? Also did you happen to get the money factor?
I paid my taxes all at once, and it depends on the state. Some states don't have sales tax.

Hello, Thank you for this great video, everything well explained. I currently owned two Mach-Es but when going on family trips we are too tight for the 5 of us. The Rivian has always been on my mind as a family trip vehicle. Now that Rivian is offering leasing is more attainable to me. One the things that I see a lot on the internet is complain about misalignment panels and gaps. Did you have to go back to Service Center for them to correct misalignments of panels on your R1T and your new R1S ?
The panel gaps are pretty good for the most part. My R1T did have to go in for service, and there is a video on that. I will be making a video as well on some issues that need to be addressed with the R1S. Thanks for sharing!

Welcome to to channel! All Rivian R1s require a $1000.00 deposit, so actually that was a down payment although it's not really considered a down payment because its paid with a credit card. However, I still had to pay taxes and fees. How much that amounts to depends on your state.

Yes. It’s been open less than a year! I just recently returned a Cybertruck I had for a few days..sooo good! Rear wheel steering is awesome! And steer by wire so Sick! I hope Rivian adds it someday.

How long did it take for a delivery date to be determined after you paid what was due at signing? I’ve checked with my guide several times and she keeps saying the service center will reach out to me when it gets in town…? It feels super scammy.
My Rivian R1T took a year, and the R1S took a couple of months because I got one out of inventory. If you configure and order one it will take longer depending on the build. Also they shut the factory down to retool. As far as costs are concerned, I cover everything that was due at signing in detail in the video.

A bunch of my neighbors have the R1S. However, I'm shocked to see that there's only one service center (located in Brooklyn, NY). With the amount of discretionary income floating around in the NY/CT suburbs, I'm surprised there aren't more resources here. Very odd and disappointing.

Hmmm...my Rivian contact wouldn't even tell me what the total lease would be until I put down the non-refundable $1000. As much as I am 90% certain I would get the Rivian, that left a real bad taste in my mouth
I had already paid the deposit because I configured the R1S in the configurator.
Tax will depend on ye state and there is 1800 destinations fee ( all leasing car charges) … around $380 for registration fee… I think that’s it.
Just looked it up on Internet found a ball park
I put my non-refundable deposit down a few days ago having no idea it wasn't necessarily for the build I selected, just for whatever they have available. I'm flexible on several things but they should make the process clearer before taking payment.

Can you claim tax credit for EV in this case when leasing?
Since it's a lease Rivian transfers the $7500 credit to you. Otherwise, it won't qualify. So the cost of the lease is reduced by that amount.
Yes, but it's up to the dealer to transfer it to the leasor.
I hate to say this, but this Rivian guy sounds like a typical car salesman. Really making it a hard sell.
