- British artist Colin Ware (Colin Firth) discovers that his fiancée, Vera (Minnie Driver), is going to marry another man. Distraught and despondent, he gets on a plane for America and ends up in the tiny town of Hope in New England. At first, Colin is depressed, but he soon finds more than a shoulder to cry on when his innkeepers introduce him to Mandy (Heather Graham), a beautiful nurse. All's going well and Colin has almost forgotten his old flame until Vera shows up with a surprise of her own.

I loved this movie It was a lovely Rom Com - a feel good romp that made me laugh and left me feeling good about life. I read in Colin Firth's wiki that it was panned by the critics but it really shouldn't have been. It was pure entertainment and that is what a good movie should be. Thanks for posting. I have kept the link and watched it a couple of times since.

Nice film as they said " who goes hunting loses his place " Mandy understood the dilemma , when we want to keep, a man must not make him dirt . In a couple you must remain in osmosis, if the osmosis comes to be broken the couple is untied , of these obligations love!

Lol! That was great, at first I was thinking it seemed stupid - but it kept getting better and better til the end; I loved the last 10-min or so, especially! (So glad that Minnie’s true-colours were allowed to shine during the dance-scene at the fair, I did NOT like ‘Vera’ - but I love Minnie!)😄😉
