    guys all of the 3d printer base and the top support angles are same length due to fixed smooth rod length
    and the rest of the right and left arm dimention are depend on threaded rod
    so it means that you need 5 nos - 400mm , 2nos- 440mm or 500mm extrution for this project

    people who are watching this in 2020, back in the day it made sense to make a 3d printer but now you have printers like ender 3 which cost less than the bom of this build, unless you want to make it to learn something i wont recommend to make a 3d printer just buy an ender 3 or an ender 3 v2, they are amazing 3d printers for the price

      For all those who were search ing dimensions you can take any but bigger than 20inch.
      Steps uploaded to Arduino are same and take care heat bed placement settings.
      The base should be minimum 20×20inch (From base I meant to say the area where heat bed is fixed.) And height should be roughly 25inch(min) .
      Acrylic sheet mount should be taken in respect of stepper motors.
      That's all rest you can check. In video.
      He night not wanted to reveal the lengths or he knew we can take any.

    Some Advice: First of all, instead of just zip tying to the bearings, use actual bearing blocks to screw onto, it is the same, but it is more secure and might yield better results on print quality.
    Second of all, Arduino is not the best to use for this and I would use an actual motherboard, even an anet a8 motherboard, but I get that it is based on a budget.
    Last of all, based on what I see, he is making a Prusa Mendel i3 clone. If you are going to print, make sure that on the stl cutting software, Cura is a great software to use, that you set the machine to Prusa Mendel i3. It will most likely use gcode files to print and if you use the wrong machine it could give you the wrong file and not only that, but it could also throw off your print bed dimensions. Just for reference ;)
    EDIT: pls add dimensions, if anybody knows precise dimensions pls reply

      @boris5448 7 років тому +1

      Btw awesome build!

    • @AdrianStaicu82
      @AdrianStaicu82 7 років тому +14

      Boris Z axis requires lift on both sides, otherwhise the weigth of the printing head would pull the head lower when the head move to the far end. Lifting on both sides, shares the load and will also keep the X axis aligned. Motors might share the same signal so they move in perfect sync.

    • @youtube_sucks_2k
      @youtube_sucks_2k 7 років тому +1

      Wouldn't a COUNTERWEIGHT be enough? Think to elevators (lifts).

    • @AdrianStaicu82
      @AdrianStaicu82 7 років тому

      If you have a stronger frame this can be done with one motor. But print carriage moves so the weight is moved around. So if you only have one Z-axis it will need to support the entire weight, and things might bend, so you would need a stronger structure. If stuff bends, it can get stuck, so you can't have a guide rod on the other side. So it's simpler to put two motors to keep all levelled and share the load. Another solution is tho have belts drive both screws at the same time.

    • @youtube_sucks_2k
      @youtube_sucks_2k 7 років тому

      So why not making a structure which doesn't bend at all?

    If you want us to build which we would like to. You should post a bunch more info including dimensions and such of items used.

    I would like to know more about custom 3D printer. Where did you get the architecture of your custom printer? I have seen some kit selling only three stepper motors, where can I get information on knowing how to make one, how to improve it and code it? Thank you

    the aluminium channel frame that u cut whats dimensions did u take, Is it okey if the dimensions are taken randomly, by changing the dimensions will it affect the g-codes, cause the center axis of extruding end changes.

    Great abilities in crafting but for the price you spent there's actually complete 3d printer kits available online.

      V6 is upgraded version from V5 so you may get better results then V5 extruder
