Really almost youtube 3D printing video i seen but this guys are very friendly with their knowledge and you are very hard working. I really impressed with you video, do it that thing we support you.
I followed your tutorial and successfully build the printer and its working extremely well. great tutorial. best among other tutorials on the UA-cam. Thanks :)
guys all of the 3d printer base and the top support angles are same length due to fixed smooth rod length and the rest of the right and left arm dimention are depend on threaded rod so it means that you need 5 nos - 400mm , 2nos- 440mm or 500mm extrution for this project
Did you ever find out the dimensions? Cause I'm over here just comparing/eyeballing it Lol. I fucking hate tutorials that speed past important details.
people who are watching this in 2020, back in the day it made sense to make a 3d printer but now you have printers like ender 3 which cost less than the bom of this build, unless you want to make it to learn something i wont recommend to make a 3d printer just buy an ender 3 or an ender 3 v2, they are amazing 3d printers for the price
For all those who were search ing dimensions you can take any but bigger than 20inch. Steps uploaded to Arduino are same and take care heat bed placement settings. The base should be minimum 20×20inch (From base I meant to say the area where heat bed is fixed.) And height should be roughly 25inch(min) . Acrylic sheet mount should be taken in respect of stepper motors. That's all rest you can check. In video. He night not wanted to reveal the lengths or he knew we can take any.
Some Advice: First of all, instead of just zip tying to the bearings, use actual bearing blocks to screw onto, it is the same, but it is more secure and might yield better results on print quality. Second of all, Arduino is not the best to use for this and I would use an actual motherboard, even an anet a8 motherboard, but I get that it is based on a budget. Last of all, based on what I see, he is making a Prusa Mendel i3 clone. If you are going to print, make sure that on the stl cutting software, Cura is a great software to use, that you set the machine to Prusa Mendel i3. It will most likely use gcode files to print and if you use the wrong machine it could give you the wrong file and not only that, but it could also throw off your print bed dimensions. Just for reference ;) EDIT: pls add dimensions, if anybody knows precise dimensions pls reply
Pls upload the next video soon ...since I am planning on working with this project cause so far this is the only videos where there is a detailed instruction in making the 3D printer
So it cost roughly $350-$400? That doesn't seem to bad, and it looks like a nice project. Would you say the print quality is good? Thanks in advance if you reply!
Hello sir, Congrats for the invention. You did such a great job. Sir I Just want to ask one question how many types of material can be printed on this printer?
Brilliant work! Can see you use the full length of the rods, so can work out the dimensions of the base. Could guess the remaining dims but is there any chance of getting a few measurements or a diagram for the rest?
Hi! I just want to say that this is awesome! Your DIY skills are on a really good level! Keep this amazing work! I subscribed and liked! This video deserves a lot more views and your channel deserves at least 100k subs! Your other videos are amazing too! Good luck in the future! Best wishes! Toni
Very interesting. Creality ,which is arguably the worlds best 3d printer uses Cura software. You can buy all the parts you need online for practically any 3d printer but you need to design it first.
Boris Z axis requires lift on both sides, otherwhise the weigth of the printing head would pull the head lower when the head move to the far end. Lifting on both sides, shares the load and will also keep the X axis aligned. Motors might share the same signal so they move in perfect sync.
If you have a stronger frame this can be done with one motor. But print carriage moves so the weight is moved around. So if you only have one Z-axis it will need to support the entire weight, and things might bend, so you would need a stronger structure. If stuff bends, it can get stuck, so you can't have a guide rod on the other side. So it's simpler to put two motors to keep all levelled and share the load. Another solution is tho have belts drive both screws at the same time.

Why did you add 2 stepper motors on one specific axis and not one like the other two axisses?
Btw awesome build!
