- We’re inviting you inside Cathy Chivers’ Herefordshire holiday rental, a Nordic chalet whose distinctive exterior you might recognise from Netflix UK’s Sex Education.
Cathy recently enlisted the help of Farrow & Ball colour expert Kat Billings to transform the picturesque property’s all-neutral rooms into cosy, characterful spaces. We caught up with her to find out what she thought of the process, the results, and her new favourite rooms.
I loved all the colors picked. The conservatory looks stunning. When it snows the place will be so pretty. When it’s fall the reds, oranges, and yellows will pop brilliantly, when the spring hits the lively green will look peaceful, even when it’s cold and damp the place will look so dreamy in the fog.
The blue they choose for the living room really pops the colors of their already owned pieces of furniture. The pink salmon is such a warm and cozy room it almost feels as if warmth comes out of the space. All of them match the owners very laid back and chill personality which is so nice to see.
Conservatory looks fabulous.
Thank you, Jacquie!
Looks fantastic...especially the conservatory ..WOW
The de nimes really made the couch pop. Great choice!
What a beautiful home 🏘️ I'm very jealous x
Wow! What a beautiful home.
It would be helpful to know which paint type was used. And when they used it on conservatory frames, are these wood or upvc? Is any F&B paint good over indoor upvc ?
That beautiful conservatory
those colours would never work here in Portugal the light is too harsh and the colours to dull!
Sitting room was horrible after, much sunnier and inviting with the yellow, esp with the colour combos with her furnitings and art.
Colors here are too blue-gray.
DEAD salmon? Who named this? 😮
I don’t like at all what they did ufffff they spoiled it!!!
How unexcited and monotonous can you possibly sound when you talk? Both of them. And then all that ‘colour’ that was introduced, because that was the brief, right? “I want some colour here.” - “I suggest this delightful mold-grey, top to bottom.” - “And some colour here.” - “There is no other choice than this vibrant dust-dull that heightens the view.” - “And some colour over there.” - “This foul-fume underlines that less is less for these walls. We’ll pair it with dump-drab on the ceiling to bring it - and everything else - down.”
