- Common issue on L77 and LS3 motors in VF/VE commodore and other LS based engines. If you have ESP service warning light or rough idle/low power this may help you self diagnose your problem. The common areas are Spark, Coil or Injector. I am not a mechanic 👨🏽🔧 and this is my own car, please investigate your own issues thoroughly. This is a video that may assist you in saving money going to a mechanic. In my case I had already known it was an injector issue plugging in my OBD but I wanted to show you a quick way of figuring this out manually. You could then save money by going to your mechanic and pointing them to the problem area straight away!
Cheers, handy video
Stick a long screwdriver or something metalic on the injector & the handle on your ear & listen for the tick tick, it will take all of 1 minute to find.
That will tell you if its dead, however it wont tell you if its weak or abnormal spray
Did your car ever stall from Netrual to Park ?
@@kodes5963 no - because it was manual 🤗
I feel like I wasted my time and money buying a temp gun lol why didn’t I think of the spray bottle
Lol i was just about to buy one too. Soap water is 💯. Helps find exhaust leaks
Had the same symptom with my VF SSV
Knew it wasn't the leads(swapped em with granatelli's) & new plugs ngk tr5ix...took a punt / removed fuel rail...wholla twas the injector (#4) replaced the lot
Did you get a engine code before you did this
Could it be the spark plug?
What about the plug or lead
Have you gotten the infamous harmonic balancer wobble?
No I didn’t - replaced when I cammed it with a powerbond kit also
@@ssidewayz Ahh nice. I had the pleasure of being cursed with it.
@@N3G4T3 did you sort it or get rid of it?
What were you spraying?
Just a soapy water dilution - just water is ok also
No such thing as an LS3 L77 they're 2 different engines it's one or the other.
@@jonny6510 they share pretty much the same architecture in components and diagnostics to the problem in both engines are the same because they use the same coils. Thanks for trying to flex
L98 got nuthing on a supra
Sorry mate but the L77 has nothing on the L98.
