    Loved my 2021 Stumpy Carbon while I had it. Such a fun bike. Mine was 28.5lbs without pedals, using a lighter casing tires (and a few other part swaps). I am 5'10" and the S4 was a great fit with a 40mm stem and 210mm OneUp, shimmed to 200mm (32" inseam). Only sold it because I found a new 22' Canyon Spectral 29 CF8 outlet bike from Canyon for cheap and I had always wanted to try one out. Mostly glad I did, as I am blown away by the Spectral overall and the stiffer build seems to suit my 210-ish lbs a bit better, but still love the stumpy.

    Yeah. Nice. The rest of UA-cam could learn from this video. This is the kinda music you should be uploading with a video

    Great song I play that all the time when I ride! I'm split between the stumpy evo and the Enduro, but this normal stumpy looks so fun!!

      It's so friggin fun. Lightweight, plenty of travel, and just a pleasure to throw around!

    Why not get an evo or evo pro if you want all those more aggressive parts?

    Nice! I just ordered the same saddle after so many people seem to love it. I just picked up the new Stans mk4 flow's with the new M-pulse hub, haven't ridden it yet. I'm going to have to check out that crank, have a hope evo and a raceface atlas on other bikes, but not sure what I am going to do for this build. Also debating on going Hayes or waiting for the new Hope Tech 4's to be in stock.

    What does this slacken the HT angle to? Is he running the flip chip in High compensate, or keep in the low position?

    Great video are the Hayes brakes better than sram g2 rsc brakes 🤔

    • @FanatikBikeCo
      @FanatikBikeCo  2 роки тому

      Depends on what you are looking for out of a brake. If you want more power and a harder bite the Hayes will be the ticket

    Nice bike. I'm also 6'2" and am wondering if I should get an S4 of S5 Stumpy. I usually ride XL bikes but wondering if a slightly smaller bike would be more fun to flick around. I like that orange color much more than the other Stumpy colors.

    • @peterk7662

      I'm 6 ft and I'm considering this bike in an s4

    • @user-xq5rp9fm1p
      @user-xq5rp9fm1p Рік тому

      I'm also 6'2" and currently have the S4 with a 50mm stem and seat position in the middle of the dropper. If I went S5 I'd ride it with the 35mm stem and seat pushed all the way forward. I opted for the S4 because I wanted the shorter chainstay and more nimble wheelbase. The headtube angle is steep enough that the longer stem doesn't affect the steering quality, so it doesn't bother me. I'd go S5 if you want the longer chainstay and wheelbase and shorter stem...otherwise the S4 is plenty big for the taller guy, especially if you're looking for that more poppy nimble bmx bike feel.

    I’m also 6’2 on an S4 (love it) but i couldn’t fit a 240 dropper, even shortened to 220.
    Edit: i managed to fit the 240 on a different bike and i fucking hate it. This is my 3rd one up post and all three have been garbage. I love almost everything else one up makes, but i can’t wait to go back to a fox post.

    • @Krackity
      @Krackity 2 роки тому

      Try spinning off the collar and putting some Slickoleum/Slick Honey on the post. Once I learned about that it changed my relationship with the post. I also came off a super reliable Transfer, but couldn’t fit the 200mm in the same frame that I could put a 210mm OneUp.

      Were you able to ride an S5? I'm in the same boat and leaning towards an S5 on paper. Looking forward to riding one
      Agree on the OneUp post. I have two and they need constant attention. Easy to work on but had to replace entire cartridge on one of them.
      I will be trying a PNW on my next build.

      I’m 6’ 1.5” with the S5 carbon comp and I never really considered going S4 because of the S sizing chart they give. This makes me want to try out the S4 and see how it rides.

      @@timgair6930 100% agree. Bike came with a Trans-X, replaced it with a OneUp V2 and it is not as good. Also, the 1up post is not size specific, they just threw some shims in there (for the part that extends).
      Garbage. Now looking at new Fox Transfer with correct size and the BikeYoke stuff.

    • @kyleottosen1021
      @kyleottosen1021 2 роки тому

      That’s super light for how capable it is. Sure you could get an XC bike lighter but not one that’s gonna shred DH trails

      @FanatikBikeCo  2 роки тому

      Depends on what you are looking for out of a bike! Ian has a longer travel bike already so he picked the Stumpy as his short travel weapon of choice! Just depends on the terrain the rider is going to ride on the bike.
