Oh Heather it is so nice to see your beautiful face and hear your sweet voice! You and Matt have both inspired me over the years. I have enjoyed your UA-cam for so long and really feel like your family is part of my family! Thank you so much for sharing your life with us all. You have given so much inspiration and knowledge and I am so appreciative of that. You have taught this Kansas farm girl a lot!
I am sure you are nervous about jumping back in, but remember you are part of our family and we are here to support you. You are doing a wonderful job! It is really good to see you and hear your voice again. You have been greatly missed. Welcome back Heather.
What an amazing, brave, strong ,sweet person you are! Your journey and bravery has inspired me in many different ways and I am so grateful. Thank you from me everyday! Big love ❤️
It's such a treat to see you back on UA-cam, the very first video I ever watched about 5 years ago was you showing how to make Vanilla extract...I've watched you ever since and prayed for you along this most difficult season. So glad to see you healing ❤
Thank you! I needed to try this again. We made some and used Vodka (and not enough beans for our very large jars) so I'm excited to try Bourbon instead AND Tahitian Beans instead of Madagascar. You're so right about just needing to jump in and do it! One thing I'll never forget from bull riding coach, "When the gate to that chute opens, it doesn't matter if you feel like crap that day or if you feel scared, you need to just go with it. We often make excuses in life and say we don't want to do something until we're "ready" but life DOESN'T wait for the right times or for you to be ready. Every day when we wake up, it's a new day waiting to take us for another wild ride and we just gotta go with it." So I'm so happy to see you jumping in!!
Hello Heather, I just want to say what an inspiration you are. This has been a tough year for me, I have had two miscarriages and was supposed to be holding our firstborn right now...but seeing you smiling and back in your kitchen just shows that we need to be resilient and keep going even though the pain is still there...lots of love from the uk❤
Your hand written labels make the gift so much more personal IMO, especially since you have such nice consistency in your penmanship. Always wonderful to see you making kitchen videos, have learned so much from you, in so many ways. It is as you said in the video, so relaxing. 🎁May your Christmas be Blessed! 🎄
This was WONDERFUL to see & hear you as you showed us how this works! And to see how much you’ve recovered as you write out those labels with such patience and beautiful handwriting! Wow! Good choice on the Tahitian vanilla bean as it is so rich and fragrant! (It may be a little awkward for me to go out and buy a bottle of bourbon though. 😳)
I loved seeing a vid from you!!!. I felt like I was just sitting in the kitchen with you. It felt good..... just like before. This is what you’re meant to do. You wouldn’t believe how much I’ve learned from you. Thank you Jesus for keeping Heather under Your wing of protection.♥️🙏🏻♥️
I still have my Bourbon Vanilla and Vodka Vanilla bottles from years ago, when you showed how easy it was to make your own! I will definitely be giving some for Christmas this year, since our family has decided that the theme for gifts this year is all things food!
Great video! I've been meaning to make vanilla with bourbon and didn't know which brand to try. I made vanilla with vodka last December, splitting just one side of the beans, but I haven’t tasted it yet. I just made one container, in my Costco vanilla bottle. I'm so excited to try this recipe with bourbon, thank you! I found your channel after another homesteading channel mentioned you needed support. I think February 2021, after your accident? How I cried for you and your family after watching the video about the accident. Little did I know that the grief of losing my own husband would come later on that Summer. Your words help me. When you said that Matt's purpose was to live the rest of his life with you, but your purpose was to live beyond that (paraphrasing); those words resonated deep in me. I still struggle with The Why, and try to understand God's plan for me, and maybe losing my husband suddenly was His Mercy and spared him of a fate far worse? Anyways, from one grieving widow to another, hugs and thank you for sharing your story. As difficult as it is, you've helped me beyond words. 💜🦋💜
I'm so sorry for your loss of your husband. Mine passed 5 months before Heathers. I was shocked and felt so bad for Heather and the kids. I have watched her a long time before Mina was born.
It’s so good to see you full of Joy and just real❤️you and your family are still in our hearts and prayers. 😊 you are so inspiring, no matter what you’re sharing. Much love!
Oh…it’s so nice to see you in my feed! I’ve been with you since 2016, when I was laid up with a broken ankle, recovering from surgery. I learned how to can fro you! Make my own brown sugar, vanilla extract, and the MOST amazing twisted cinnamon bread ever! We’ve talked in the comments about “calling” and our purpose…and these were before your accident. So many people tell you the impact you’ve had on them….never doubt it. So happy you’re finding your way back. 💞💞
Hi...good to see you. You look great! Thanks for sharing that recipe. I never considered making my own vanilla extract because I didn't know how. It's very easy!
So happy to see your smiling face again. You’re one of the first UA-cam channels I started following back 3-4 years ago because of your warm and inviting presence. Don’t be nervous. We’re all with you. God bless you’re continued recovery.

It is fantabulous to see you back on here. You have been very missed but if you feel overwhelmed we understand if you need to take a little time off once in a while. Hopefully it will get easier. You did great and I can't wait to see more.
So fun to see you back in the kitchen! Maybe you could share some favorite recipes you have done on your channel as an easy video, maybe add some photos or clips as you discuss the recipe? You've made some things that have made me drool for sure! 😁 Whatever you do, I'll be here!
Seeing the notification for your channel made my heart sing! It's SO good to see you! Much love and continued prayers for you and your family. 🙏❤️ Thank you for this video. This is something I've been wanting to do for quite some time. And videos of tools that help you would really help me with my health challenges as well.
What a LOVELY surprise this Saturday night! I actually discovered you & your channel back in 2019 when I was looking for info on making vanilla extract & your video from a few years ago was the 1st one that came up (& most informative!) & I became a subscriber ever since. So it's kinda crazy that you're making your comeback with vanilla! I'm a guy & never used to bake anything but I learned a lot from you over the years. Your determination positive attitude and fighting spirit are an inspiration. Thanks for taking us on your personal Journey even on the very personal stuff. Wishing you and your loved ones all the best
God Bless and thank you! I am so happy you found me. Thats funny….Vanilla did seem like the perfect come back video to do. 😆👏🏻 I love how the Lord works! Thats a God Nod. 😆😆😆😆

Oh my gosh, it is so great to see you! You are doing so well and finally healing and getting back to normal. I love the video and I've been seriously thinking about making some vanilla for myself and then as a gift to others also. Can't wait to see more of you but take it slow and easy. We're just so grateful to visit with you. God bless you and your family!
Love this video❤️ What a great gift idea! Your son is right vanilla is so expensive. I am newer to your channel and have been watching your older videos. Glad you are back....have a blessed night😉
Welcome back home Heather! Its great to see you, looking so spry and well. I started watching your videos a little over a year ago, and you were the one who inspired me to can. I'm really enjoying it. Thank you, and God bless you and family.
I always wondered why vanilla extract tasted like alcohol i had no idea what it was made from i bet it tastes wonderful in a recipe. Thanks for including us back into your life again .
I’m so happy to see you thank you so much for hanging out with us in the kitchen again ✨🫶🏼✨ your videos always always bring me joy and happiness, a sense of calm 🖤 I know it’s not easy and I think we all can appreciate and let you know how much it means to us to see you smiling ☺️
Thank you for sharing this with us Heather . You in the kitchen videoing again , is the best therapy for you and all who love you and your family . ❤🙏♥️
You write very nice - the labels look great and I imagine the extract is delicious. I get nervous before I write something I feel is important like labels or a card. Sometimes I even do some pre-writing practice writing on scrap paper. Thanks for this gift idea.
What a blessing to be able to see you I’m so glad you’re doing good and you’re back I look forward to seeing more videos to see what God has planned it was soooooo worth the wait😉💜
So happy to see you bake in the kitchen. You have been missed. No need to do anything at all, chatting is fine and when time allows. We just miss your presence.
First time I watched a how to, and I am a convert. I had heard about you through other homesteaders who asked for prayer requests right after the horrible accident, and I've awaited your return because people spoke so nicely about you. And it was worth it. Thanks!
Heather, it’s so good to see you back in your kitchen! You are truly an inspiration, I’ve always loved your videos and this one is great! I’ve got a bottle of vanilla in my cabinet I made a couple of years ago from one of your earlier videos…love it,
Girl you never need apologize for anyting. You do a fantastic job at everything. Thanks for filming and helping teach us I really appreciate it God bless you and your family
I was so glad to see you back! You are such an inspiration to us all. I have never made homemade vanilla extract but have wanted to for years! I’m adding this to my list to do this month! God bless you as you continue on this journey!
I made vanilla for the first time last year and i'll never go back to store bought! Going to try it with the bourbon next. So great to see you doing a video!! By the way, your handwriting is gorgeous :)
I am sooooooo happy to see you!!! And yes, I get very nervous when I start to write, especially if it’s a gift for someone. 😅 I just wanted to point out that not long ago you couldn’t even hold a brush due to your broken wrists. And now your writing is 100% neater than mine! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙌🏻👍🏻👍🏻 I can’t wait to see more from you whenever you are ready. Much love!!! 💙💙💙
So glad you’re back!!! This is kind of a stupid question but do you use most of the vanilla in a bottle before topping it off again or like about half? Do the beans dry out? And does bourbon last like forever? Does the vanilla ever go bad ? Thanks and love all your videos- you did great!
Glad you’re back! I’ve just recently found you and have been binge watching your videos! Like everyone else I have grown to 💕 you! God bless you & continued health to you & your children! A wonderful video which I will be making! I baked a lot! I am also retired so I have been learning to can & dehydrate, OMG at 67! I have learned so much from you! Thank you! May God continue giving you strength! Looking forward to more videos!
We love you, Heather, our Christian sister! God is smiling on you and will bless your efforts. Praying for you as you take these steps to get back to blessing us with your channel. 💕
Ahh how I loved this. I actually cried for you. So much joy that you are continuing to heal and ready to share your passion again with your followers. Praying all the best for you. Your timing on this vanilla making lesson was perfect for me. I just bought a kit which it recommended to soak and soften the beans then slit them so I won’t be doing that. Also I bought vodka but now I’m going to run out and get bourbon. Thank you very much for sharing. Have a blessed day. Looking forward to seeing you again soon. ❤️
Welcome back! I feel like you are seeing the light at the end of the injury tunnel! I have made vanilla 2 ways... vodka and bourbon. I find I prefer the vodka... but that is a taste thing and there are, (as I have found out) a LOT of different vanilla opinions out there. I really want to try the coconut rum version with the same kind of beans you have. I will also be making the vodka version again for sure.
Heather, it's so good to see you. It made me cry both happy and sad tears. As always you and your children are in my prayers. I'm so happy you're back!!!!!!
So great to see you!! And don’t buy those pre-printed labels - your handwriting is more precious on your gifts and so beautiful! It is a testament to Gods grace and mercy! ❤️🎉🙌
PreciousHeather, it is a blessing to see you back on UA-cam! Have so missed your beautiful face. You are such a blessing to us all. God bless you and thank you for returning to us. We love you so much! Sending you and your precious family much love, blessings and hugs from Longview, Texas. Praise the Lord for your healing. ❤️❤️❤️
What a nice surprise to see you and hear your voice. Heather, your emotional/physical strength through these past few years is a testament to those around you; your love of family/friends and your love of our creator. I pray that you will always be blessed with the things you need.

I can't like this video enough your handwriting is beautiful hard to believe you had two broken wrists!! Thank you for sharing your life with us and just know that I continue to pray for you.
You look absolutely amazing. I see the old spark again! Healing is a journey, and you are doing it gracefully. Its so good to see you looking so vibrant in your kitchen. Homemade vanilla as a gift. Genius. My husband and I just invested in a bottle of vanilla. wow! Thanks for sharing this great idea!
Well, my mind is blown! I never thought of making my own vanilla extract! Thank you for sharing!!! And as a gift- amazingly wonderful idea! It is wonderful to see your joyous smile! May our Father continue to bless you and your family!
So good to see you! You don’t need to be nervous. It’s just us, sitting in your kitchen, chatting with you and each other as you talk about food, kids, healing, and having a relaxing time. Quick question: Lots of your older posts mention getting full recipes to one thing or another from your (now not there) website. Try as I may, I am unable to track them down on Facebook. Can you please tell me where they are hiding? Thanks a bunch
Heather it’s so nice to see your lovely face again. I hope you continue to heal physical and emotional and thank you for making this video. Love from Hungary
Praise God! It’s wonderful to see your beautiful smiling face! And being back in your kitchen teaching us in your God given purpose! You are so loved and appreciated! I’m so very thankful for your videos - you brought me out of a deep dark place many years ago, and I began wanting to love myself and my family through cooking, baking, preserving etc! You are such an inspiration and encouragement to us in more ways than you’ll ever know. ! God bless you and may His healing continue in your body and spirit! 💖🙏🥰

Tahitian vanilla beans are very light and floral, not really good paired with bourbon.

And now your writing is 100% neater than mine! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙌🏻👍🏻👍🏻 I can’t wait to see more from you whenever you are ready. Much love!!! 💙💙💙
Hello BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!! Thank you so much!!!! What a wonderful day!!!! ❤️❤️❤️ We love you Heather!!!
So glad you’re back!!! This is kind of a stupid question but do you use most of the vanilla in a bottle before topping it off again or like about half? Do the beans dry out? And does bourbon last like forever? Does the vanilla ever go bad ? Thanks and love all your videos- you did great!
OMG Heather! It is so good to see your face in the kitchen and hear your voice! We have missed you so very much!
It was wonderful to watch you playing in your kitchen. We sure have missed you.
