Massive thanks to Simon from @SmashingPistons for lending me this car for the afternoon!

First Henrietta review! Nice! ❤(sits down with tea)
Tea and Rovers. What a great combination!
Great video 👍, they are beautiful estate cars, great job on the steering wheel.
Thank you. Yes, Simon is making a very nice car from this
1222ltr of luggage space with the seats folded down. I’ve been following this particular Tourer since Boaty first acquired it as a bargain purchase & then onto Project MGTF’s ownership. I do think the estate 75 styling works just as well as the saloon. Minor correction*…the low spec Classic 75’s only have round dial switch’s for climate control & not this dual zone CC panel. I look forward to watching the review of your ZT on Simon’s channel.
Maybe it should be called Norma 😅
Once again great info from you! The unit of measurement completely escaped me when I was making this!
Great review Rob. I need to get my car to you for review. mine has quite a few differences than this one even though it's a saloon.
Thank you Simone. We can sort something when you drive my TF maybe :)
Torque, Nice
Smooth!
Great review & another different R40 configuration to add to your collection
Thanks BB. There will be more to come
Another good review 🚘🚙🚗⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍👍👍👍👍👍
Cheers Jimmy!
Another very interesting review. You do ,do a good job with your presentation and its interesting to listen to and watch (not an easy thing to do). I have manuals and autos but i love autos particularly if your stuck in a big traffic jam you just glide along without all the strain on your left leg.
Thanks for your feedback JJ. It means a lot! Yes, sometimes I wish I had an auto!
Im desperate to get one of these bad boys. Never see them up in Aberdeen 😢
They are great aren't they! Seem to always be one or two for sale!
Low on BHP, yes. BUT, and this is important, the torque is higher on the diesel than on anything else but the V8. I find my diesel tourer to be easier to drive than my 1.8NA saloon. Both equally quiet and comfy, though! 1000km over 2 days, still felt fine afterwards.
Great review. Had a 2002 Rover 75 Tourer CDTi Club SE Auto in Midnight (I think) Blue for a few years. Loved the car, comfortable, great to drive, economical, and such a relaxing ppace to sit, with the wood (effect) dash, cream clocks, and the wonderful orange glow at night. Only down side was interior space, which is a little snug. Only sold it because I went to work overseas
Thank you!
Nice review Rob😀
Thank you Svenn
Lovely station wagon and beautiful colour just like the one I have just come home from work in and as I close the driver door I always say Great car I have a few 75 saloon s 1800 2liter and V6 all beautiful cars I have many collable cars the 75s were a classic the day they left the show room Great body's and colour and my Station wagon has 200 and 50 thousands miles on the clock and running like a bird
A fellow enthusiast! Sounds like you have quite a collection and yes, the M47R engine can do a LOT of miles!
Hard to tell on video but that wood actually still looks pretty nice, I hear people often replace them with earlier dash if they can find one.
I had a short drive of a Saloon with a diesel engine once but it was a long time ago.
I recall it not feeling as dynamic as the Laguna 2 I owned at the time but it was a very comfortable cruiser.
Nice video.
Thanks. The MGR diesels benefit from a remap. You can get 160bhp and the economy improves! Makes it the car it deserves to be
Rover / BMW did a great job matching the 4 pot Diesel to an auto box.... not an obvious match but everyone who has owned one raves about how great they were to own and drive.
Matt from Furious Driving has a Mk1 Freelander Diesel with the Jatco box... he had to do a simple standard repair to it and it's absolutely fine.
JATCO gearbox is wonderful. I think my next project will likely be a 75 Auto... at some point!
Just think if they fitted the BMW m57 engine 197 bhp as fitted in the BMW E60 which I had great power and torque.
It is something that has crossed my mind a lot. And imagine the BMW petrol engines in some of the 75s as well!
Can't go wrong with a Dizzle. Have a dozen or so Diesel's ⛽ in the hoard.
You have diesels in the States?
@@beardsandbangers Yes. Some American ones Ford,GM/Oldsmobile ect. I also collect Engines. I have a few Toyota and Perkins Diesels.
do they have a chain belt?
Yes, these have a chain. Should be good for 250,000 miles or so!
My 2.0 cdt manual is a bit sluggish. How can they be chipped?
Someone like Tom Force of Force Tuning is master of remapping these! I think you can get 140-150bhp out of these
SYNERGY 2A TUNING BOX + PIERBURGH MAF SENSOR
A tourer…..in 2023? Great year for it 😂
Glad you had heard that this year is the year of the Tourer (according to Simon.) Did you know 2024 is the year of the Streetwise, again according to Simon!
@@beardsandbangers yes I think he mentioned it once or twice. Let’s see who gets one for 2024
