- Multimillion Yacht Crash At Haulover Inlet, Bridge Under Inspection
Baker's Haulover Inlet is a man-made channel in Miami-Dade County, Florida. It connects the northern end of Biscayne Bay with the Atlantic Ocean. The inlet was cut in 1925 through a narrow point in the sand between the cities of Bal Harbour and Sunny Isles.
The inlet entrance channel is 400 feet wide and 14 feet deep. It's dangerous to navigate because it features:
Sandbars
Rock walls
Strong tide currents
Gusty onshore winds
There is no speed limit at Haulover Inlet.

This video is a collaboration with BOAT MANIA HUB channel, which is also dedicated to make videos at Haulover Inlet but with a more pronounced focus on drone shots. This happened yesterday. Apparently, there were only material damages, but it is still a sad event. Thanks for watching!!
Absoute proof this area has far more money than brains
It is a sad indictment of the modern standards of seamanship when it appears to be more important to be seen posing and posturing than it is to be keeping a clear watch on all areas when closing on a harbour approach where other craft are everywhere and who knows what is in the water. That Skipper should be sent back to kindergarten as that seems to be the appropriate mental age being displayed. My bet is he wouldn't know a diver in water signal if it bit him on his stern area.
Should have been caught for missing the flag.
Seems money doesn't buy competence
Rarely does.
It never did and I don’t think anyone has ever thought it does.
Practicing to be a large container freight Skipper?
Too soon🙂
Let's see- (6) holes in the hull at about $10K apiece, broken rub rail, broken glass- maybe $100K ? I wouldn't want to be the guy who had to explain this to the owner ! HA
The last Captain should be found and fined for ignoring the diver flag😮
Pull his licence for 6 months.
The owner to the crew: “come on, let me drive” after a few cocktails
Azumut is known as being an entry level luxury yacht. Just like Bayliner was.
yeah right lol
Tis just a flesh wound..
“Double Trouble” - that’s for sure.
That will buff right out!😂
That’s gonna leave a mark
NOPE ! I counted 5.. thru and thru marks
Looks like he realized that he wasn’t going to make it under the bridge then decided to turn around.
According to what we saw, we agree with that conclusion. In the turning process, it was at the mercy of the current from the inlet due to the rising tide. If it had moved further away from the bridge, it probably would have succeeded. Thanks for Watching and Comment!
He barely scraped the bridge. Besides, the name of the boat is "Double Trouble". What did you expect?
Scarey, some people should stick to bowling.
Captain should know vertical clearance at high tide. Boat is very top heavy and does not maneuver well in close quarters. More dollars than sense. Did the police stop them to investigate?
I'm pretty sure that that was not a structural part of the bridge they hit
It's Like a fender for the structure. The inspection must have been to verify that everything was okay and ready to continue protecting the structure.
It's just a stupid Florida boater bumper, to keep them from taking more bridges down. Looks like it did its job, ready for the next fool. Love all the damage it did, someone needs to learn how to pilot a boat. LOL
I'd be more embarrassed with the dive boat that crew had. Not for nothing, why are they in a recreational boat? They should be on an aluminum workboat with safety lights and identification lettering at the very least!
Captain is definitely in double trouble now. I mean this Yacht has bow and stern thrusters. I don't think this Captain should be at the helm of this Yacht.
Fiberglass doesn't look very thick.
What's up with the viewer count on UA-cam?
I'd expect a segment of this magnitude to get way more views.
I've been trying to figure out UA-cam.. especially for my own needs.
That yacht crashing was spectacular.
My work is too.but I see a trend of my worst videos getting high views while my best work kept obscure like my efforts are sabataged.
Just saw a boat about that size beached in lake Boca a couple days ago. I just don't understand how owners of these boats get captains that are so incapable.
Rent a captain, pay cheap, get cheap
The yacht who ignored the diving flag will bet quite a ticket, maybe some Captain is up for a suspension
Aside from the foolishness of this entire incident what really bothers me is the apparent fragility of the hull on a multi million dollar yacht. Also why design an abutment shaped like that? Would not a solid structure spread the impact over a larger area rather than focusing the force over 5 or 6 small areas? Highway abutments are designed to spread the impact.
the wind was blowing the diving flag toward the bridge - the approaching boat was upwind of it. basically the same as flying that flag in the dark of night
If the owner himself was at the helm, he was certainly not a poor man. If it was an employee, he would probably have been fired.
About right for the type of person attracted to the all flash no substance of a Azimuth.
Didn't hurt the looks of the boat it is still ugly. He didn't get the memo: Lifes too short to own an ugly boat
Well, at least it didn’t sink or get stuck I see the name of the boat on the back said double trouble more like I’m in trouble
Named Double Trouble!!!
No Kidding......................
Looks like it is from tupperware😂 good name for it
In another life he was the Captian of the Titanic !!!
Money can’t fix Stupid
A little bit of planning and he would have known not to even go there.
Don’t give the keys to the Mexican
Wow, it put holes in the side of it ? 😳
Almost guaranteed the owner was driving the boat when this happened.
Agree.
Haulover: where the 1%'ers go to ignore the rules of the water. What a shame.......billionaires gotta fix their smashed up luxury toy.
😎🇺🇸🏴☠️🧜HaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHa… Ad Infinitum… From A Captain Who Used To Go Through That Passage Quite A Bit
My guess is that Azimut captain is currently unemployed.
Surely the skipper is a paid professional? Just made no sense to me.
And, how amateurish was the dive crew? At least bring a proper dive barge out with a safety barrier. Pathetic.
OOPS
Yep, April is crashing your boat month
he didn't back up far enough and before he could make the turn the current pulled him in to the bridge mid turn smh!! all he had to do is back up further wtf
Oh south Florida never disappoints
Just because, You can write a check. does not make you a captian
El captain doesn’t have any experience
Hope they have Insurance
Anyone know who owns that beast?
HOLD MY BEER !!!
Lol
Anyone know if it was a licensed captain or an owner at the helm?
Most likely, owner. Look how he’s dressed. No crew member would display such a show of vulgarity.
More money than good sense
