The ability to take the bolt out without completely dissembling amazed when I first saw this come to market.I'll have to get a receiver or complete gun here real soon.
Thank you very much!! They are fantastic, I can only say the very best about Paul and his team, they took over and brought the whole project to the next level.
Came across this video about the 11/22 Open Top. Brilliant! I already customized my 10/22 Takedown with a Beyer Barrel - 18.5" spiral fluted - and it is sub MOA accurate. Also put in a Tandemkross bolt, and will definitely be picking up one of the FRW Takedown 11/22 receivers. Thank you.
It's hilarious they say that any shift in point of impact isn't a big deal because it's just a survival rifle while literally being a conglomeration of expensive gucci parts lol. Yeah....I don't think so Tim. FYI, if you properly set up and tighten a factory Ruger 10/22 takedown there's no discernable shift in the POI so if Luke is seeing a half inch to inch shift from this custom version, it's a step down, not up.
@@KamikazKid Well, honestly the manufacturing process is exactly the same. The bore size doesn't dictate the price, or not that much. It's a $1000 rifle with that amount of workmanship, the materials are just a fraction.
@@SergeyPRKL Let me rephrase that, why pay $1000 for a gun with POI shift when I can get any other gun in the same caliber from a $300 ruger to a $500 S&W and not have this issue?
In reality which is more practical for use in mountains as an small critter getter the Ruger MK IV pistol or one of the Ruger takedown rifle. I think a supressed MKIV has an advantage with its smaller footprint
That's not the point of this. Yea sure you can get a Tandemized Mini Mamba and a fat 1.5" can but a 10/22 will be more accurate than that pistol all day and will always hold more rounds.
I don't understand why Ruger or more aftermarket 10/22 parts manufacturers don't adopt the Volquartsen approach to the takedown. The pic rail and is attached to the barrel and cantilevers over the receiver so there's zero point of impact shift when you take it apart. The Volquartsen barrel won't work with this unless they offer a flat top receiver version.
Because it's not 1980 anymore and it also limits the type of barrel that can be put on the rifle. I run an IDF .22 silencer on my FRW 11/22 Take Down. I can't mount a red dot on there and I don't intend to run one on there.
This makes the original 10/22 completely redundant. Cleaning my old 10/22 was always a pain in the ass, so I'm happy to pay more if it means the process is much easier.
"I would never pay that much - therefore there is obviously no market for this" I just don't understand how there's still neanderthals in this world. This isn't even 'expensive' for a 10/22.
Gotta wonder why it is so uncommon for non-ar style rifle to be able to open from rear even at this day. 22lr is dirty specially with supressor so i want be able to clean it after range session but removing action from stock or removing scope rail at first arent exacly what i like to do.
@@homegunsmithunger598 For accuracy wise it is better solution and can do some critical cleaning from that opening but still cant use cleaning rod for a barrel. What im kind of asking is similiar what savage is using in A17
@@Kesssuli You actually can I have a video online where i show it, i am using an elastic plastic tube for that, works great because it doesnt has to bend much. There is no better way for the 10/22 because the buffer pin would be in the way anyway.
@@homegunsmithunger598 That is exacly why i said something like savage have because from that gun you can pull bolt from back and use actual solid cleaning rod instead just boresnake or cable. Ruger improved their mark series and made it one most easiest gun to fieldstrip and clean after couple versions. 10/22 otherhand is still exacly same gun as 60 years ago. And still no sign to improve that one most annoying part. Platform is nice but seriously...
@@Kesssuli yeah i get what you mean, but i actually still love the 10/22, even more with the opentop 11/22 receivers. The possibilities with the aftermarket parts are endless, precision is exceptional with match barrels and batch tested match ammo, reliability is unmatched with the 10 round mag and the triggers are super crisp.
.5-1" MOA shift? If it is tight machining tolerances that number should be at worst .005 shift in accuracy. Look at it from a survival perspective. Your not packing a bunch of ammo. Smaller prey will make that MOA shift magnify. A different rail solution needs to be figured out. The barrel lock up is probable a best it can be. Id have to see one to determine my thoughts there. The MOA shift is a problem though. Maybe its just his shooting causing it.
While I appreciate what you're saying... it seems to me, when a new type of customization comes out, the first few manufacturers charge what the market will bear AND THEN SOME!
They didn’t invent it! Sebastian Unger invented it and had been working on it for many years. Fletcher rifle works is just his partner for producing and selling it. Also I have one of the OG 11/22, it’s ok, it’s great for a .22 that’s will be shot a ton and will need to be cleaned often but other than that their QC is crap. I ended up returning two receivers in a row because they had fitment issues and incorrect and improperly cut threads.
Okay? And I haven't experienced that issue and you probably bought one when they first came out. I own one of these receivers. This is the best set up on the market.
Thanks a lot for the credit!! They had a very small batch where the v-block holes were too low, sorry that this happened to you, they replaced them all without any discussion. I was actually very impressed by their production quality, all CNC machined and hard anodized and pretty affordable for that level of quality.
You're not using that receiver of this. This is meant to be taken apart easily for cleaning and the top cover still has a portion to mount small prism optics. Your argument isn't really valid
Fletcher should work with all the other aftermarket companies to provide them the best receiver possible. Desert Tech Trek-22 sucks to clean. Put an 11/22 in it. Tandemkross Manticore X could use a custom 11/22 upper to do away with the ugly lines and fitment. Ruger won't do the innovation. So do it yourself, Fletcher Rifle Works.
@dwayneelizondomountaindewh6073 Bro, this is definitely a better mechanism and you're not unscrewing a receiver screw every time. That's not an argument.
Buyers beware they sent me a receiver with a bad tap - offered to send me longer screws, never did. Offered to replace, never did. Asked for address to confirm sent address no response. Been over 7 months now. Had to drill out to accept a nut and bolt. Great idea horrible execution and worst customer service on this side of hemisphere.

I will never buy this, yet I watch this video at midnight. Why?
Same lol
Because there’s a chance you might buy it

12:35, watching now. Will also never buy this.

@@printingwithpeek4897you’re confused.
So does this company just cease to exist if Ruger puts out a 10/22 that can be disassembled in a similar way?
They have it patented I believe
I swear I’ve seen another company doing this somewhere.

Tell me you have no idea how IPs work without telling me you have no idea how IPs work.
You can just 3d print a ruger 10/22 now…

Great point
i like this but no one is going to pay $1300+ for a 10/22
So then just get the receiver. They're $330. Also, $1300 is not a lot for a quality rifle.
Lots of people pay 1k-2k for a good 22lr -10/22 after upgrades. It’s not rare to bling out a 10-22 for like 1500.

The non takedown receiver starts at Usd 225 at Brownells and you can just do an affordable build based on a Ruger 10/22.
I will. Take my money

A one inch point of impact shift when you disassemble a $1000 rifle is ridiculous. If it was $200 that would be acceptable.

Especially on the takedown model where you can access the bore and the inside of the receiver in its takedown configuration.
