Hi Ashley! I'd like to do this as a boy doll as my hubby & I would like to do Advent with our 3 foster boys. What kinds of items would go into the advent boxes for boys? I am going to purchase the pkg from your Etsy acct for the Advent Amy & alter the hair.

That's a tough question and honestly, I'm trying to figure that out myself as almost all the requests for next year's advent CAL are for a boy doll. If you're using this year's CAL patterns, I'd do variations on all the pants/shorts/shirts adding different elements like stripes or changing the color of the sleeves on the t-shirt to kind of make it look like a raglan top. Then you have the bear, backpack, hat, overalls, shoes and boots that could be the same. My t-rex backpack buddy on my blog is likely small enough to fit into the boxes so that could be another option. A blanket, and pillow could also be good if you can fit them in the box. Turn a pair of the shorts into a bathing suit and then make a towel to go with it.
For the hair for your dolls, I already have a boy doll on my blog/in my shops that has a hair cap that will fit the advent amy doll as well. Here is the link to that pattern here: theloopylamb.com/2021/02/12/amigurumi-boy-doll-free-pattern-cal-week-2/
      I hope that this helps!

Hey Ashley Thankyou for this tutorial,I know you put a button on the boot but for safety I won’t be as I’m making this for a baby to go on a bunny.I’m new to amagarumi & I couldn’t see the finished boot properly , can I leave button out and just sew the boot up?& Is it suppose to be open ( where you put the button )? Hope this makes sense sorry .Thankyou Robyn

      Hi Robyn,
I'm sorry you couldn't see the finished boot properly. These are really hard to photograph. The boot is meant to be open in the back in order to make it easier to slide the boot on and off the doll. If you want to leave the button and buttonhole out you can do that and just seam up the opening.

Super. Please tell me if these are for three inch foot. Thanks 👍

These are to fit my Advent Amy doll. Unless you change the yarn and hook combination, it won’t fit a 3” foot

Why don't you write the rows and with the respective increases? It would be much easier to follow! Good luck in the future!

Thanks for your feedback. I don’t add them many people find them to be a distraction, particularly if they can’t read patterns. If you’re able to read patterns, the pattern for this project is available to view for free on my blog if the video isn’t to your liking.
