Thank you so much!!
This was excellent. I’m just getting back into printmaking, so this was the perfect video for me. I can’t wait to see how that piece turns out!
I'm so glad you found it helpful!
Карлики не забыли Николь, у нас ещё снег не растаял 😁.

Wow. Thank you so much for this video. Im trying to learn Lino carving and it has been a challenge. I’m interested in knowing the actual sizes of the pfiel v and u tools. Tried finding the hwahong carving tools but could only find them in Australia. Bummer.
I'm glad you found it helpful! I have the pfiel 12/1 and 11/0.5.
☺👏
I love this lino cut. I am learning but my downfall is finding images to use, I can’t draw and don’t like copying stuff from pinterest from other people. Any suggestions? I do sometimes use other peoples images to practice with but I always ask permission.
Hi Barbara,
Thanks so much! My personal practice definitely treats linocut as an extension of a drawing practice - it is image making and creation and drawing is part of this for me. I do preliminary sketches to varying levels of finish for each work.
I know some people who can make prints with very limited planning - mark making directly into their surface. Other people like to work from photographs they have taken themselves - sometimes working directly off the reference or digitally editing it (i.e. to a limited set of tones for example) to create a plan.
It depends quite a lot what kind of images you would like to create and what you would like to achieve with your work, and those questions are probably the best guide for how you should approach the planning process.
What tool are you using to outline?
Usually the smallest 'u' tool.
Do you know what number those E.C. Lyons graver tools you use?
The main one I like to use is a 46, I also have a 40 which I sometimes use for small areas.
Thank you. I really enjoy your graphic novel prints
