Thanks for the video. We have a couple knives laying around the house from my hubby's military days. This is the one I chose to carry in my purse. So glad you gave detailed info.
Sootch, I'm glad you made a review of these. There is pretty much nothing on youtube about them. I'm Glad I'm not the only person that bought a Mark II (2 actually, I have the mark V ATCK fixed blade too). Sadly, blackhawk bought them out and has really dumbed down the CQD and made it a cheapo POS.
Isn't Fox or tops knives working together to help get these made? IMO all it's missing is an Emerson opener :) out of curiosity, what's the dagger you're holding at the beginning?
Ha all good sootch proves your human after all! ha, as i said the first time, great vids, great knives, great job, keep up the top work brother! take care.
I searched for the exact same knife you have in your video all over the web and your link. I cannot find them anywhere. I can only find the cheaper versions. any suggestions?
This knife design is almost exactly like my Blackhawk Mark I Type E........ Great for general use and camping/hiking.......but not sure I would want it for a CQD knife.
I bought a Mark I when they first came out . The threads on the seatbelt cutter end were stripped out . I had to order new bolts a size larger and tap new holes ect. Needless to say I was very disappointed with this . It was no easy task to remachine all the parts to make it the way it should have come from the factory . I would not take this knife into combat . Its extremely big and heavy and there are just to many other quality knives that do the job that are cheaper and more user friendly .
ive known soldiers who were issued knives like this, but would have been docked the 300$ if they lost them, so they stayed back in their bags at the base :P
btw I love these to death but I still think the Emerson and Fox Karambits and the Emerson Dart beats these (to stick to the same style)....that said....daddy wants! :P
Utter junk. I had both these knives- didn't have them long, though. They are virtually impossible to deploy quickly unless you "snap" the blade out- due to the way the opening thumb stud is situated. However, the company (M.O.D.) STRICTLY ordered the user/consumer to NEVER EVER under any circumstances snap the blade, as that would discombobulate the delicate inner workings of the knife. Serious as a damn heart attack, Joe. I DX'd that shit most rikky tik. WTF, over!

I have one with the fixed open sheath....really cool. You can carry it closed or on your belt/gear.

Any videos on the Mark V Atac?
So I have the automatic Mark II knife. If the ones shown in this video are worth $300.00 retail, does that mean the automatic is more?
2020 anyone?
Hey Sootch can you recommend a particular sharpening system?

I have an unmarked Keating Hornet Auto in perfect condition. I love it!!

They're long discontinued (even at the time of your comment) and are now pushing $400-$500+ for mint condition examples.
You find them on ebay
I have both... both nice... but yes, the larger one, is a very large knife... maybe not for everybody....

That's because Blackhawk bought Masters of Defense and started producing their designs (but produce them overseas with cheaper materials).
@cupcupculpable The debt was caused by politicians, not the military. We need a strong military...
i want them both!
Oh ya .... This knife is fun to have and use , just difficult to carry . This knives best home would be with a backpacker/hiker/camper .
@Chriznak By signing up to UA-cam you create a channel son.
