Thank you so much for posting this! Today the lcd of my Nikon accidentally broke during some outdoor shooting. I was desperate, the camera is still new. I called the assistance to see if they could substitute the lcd and they told me they could but for a crazy price. Then I saw your video and I am using my old iPhone as lcd instead.

No such thing as android cable. It's a USB cable, nothing to do with a phone operating system
No such thing as "android cable" lol. Hell it was a "windows cable" before anything in that case hahaha. It's a data cable and they make data cables for iphone. I'm sure 11 months ago

Jonas Leppert iphone is not compatible with otg but if you download de canon wireless app it should work out fine

It controls everything (ISO, SS, Aperture, WB, image size, etc.). I tried it on 5D Mark II.

Sir I can't thank you enough for this... this is really gonna help me since I don't have anyone to model and practice on.
The problem with this method is that there is significant lag between what the camera sees and the time it takes to display that on the phone (watch the leaves at the end of the vid). If you're doing stationary shots or just want a bigger screen, use this. If you're shooting handheld, stabilising, panning etc., it's def worth it to buy an actual monitor,
just upgrade your phone

For people with Nikon, Use the app, "Camera connect and control." It costs 90bucks in app, but, works like a charm.

Is it fair to say that depending on the phone and app, the phone display may give a false reading/visual output than that of the DSLR even if you were to adjust the settings, which may result in cheap, amateur looking footage and be harder or impossible to edit in post? Thanks, James.

Ingenious, extraordinary. I've been using DSLR's for the last 10 years and never knew this was possible. Completely negates the need for swiveling or flip open displays! Hopefully you can tell us how to control photos from the smartphone once you are hooked up. Thanks!

Jan Christian Aala I don't think you can connect the mini HDMI to the USB adapter. And there are many free apps available for the same purpose so just google it and you shall get it

I found the fisrt video which gives the right answer in my question, i was trying to find so many days how to connect camera with phone wireless sth that didn't work because as your camera, mine(it's the same canon eos 1300d) hasn't that option. If the phone won't connect, make sure Wifi/NFC is Disabled.
If you want to use the cameras hardware buttons while is phone connected, press the little button with a camera on it and the camera screen will turn back on and the buttons will be usable again.
This system is not enough it just standstill during recording

Its not described that how to download the app, as whenever i start downloading the app in my any phone, then its ask for my credit card, debit card details or net banking details. which can be dangerous for anyone having any of the mentioned options for payment transfer.

Digicamcontrol app for Nikon allows us to see the camera screen on mobile. It can take time lapse, focus scattering even if your entry level camera does not have such features.

Thanks! But it would be better to have a small ballhead to mount your phone so you can adjust the viewing angle. If your phone's screen and camera screen are just parallel to each other then you're just wasting effort putting this on. This would help selfie addicts though. 😊
The one benefit even if the screens are parallel is that depending on your camera, you might have a very low definition screen making it hard to tell if it's in focus or not. That's actually why I was looking into a phone as a monitor. I also love the other options that come with it like changing the angle as you said.
