Thank you for posting this video. At 19:23, see the house in the lower-center of the screen, on the corner, surrounded by palms. I owned that house many years ago and my little girl and I germinated the seeds and planted those palm trees ourselves. Many happy memories in that house. I live on the other side of the world now; my daughter is grown. I browse UA-cam once in a while because tourists invariably capture a glimpse of the old house and I can see how my palms are doing. Glad you enjoyed the trip.
I got teary eyed watching this such a beautiful couple and im getting married in 4 months I've been watching your videos all day.I would love my honeymoon in Hawaii and its enjoyable to see you guys have fun and enjoy each other ❤
Kauai was in my FIRST trip to Hawaii ... I was on a very tight budget, but I was so fortunate to have drawn the card of "cooking" for a group of 4 ladies... I was good at budgeting for food while making delicious meals * Thanks to Farmers markets. One lady provided the Condo in Kapaa, One provided Rental car, and the last one was in charge of Entertainment. One of the ladies Husbands paid for us to all tour in a HAWAII BLUE HELICOPTER TOUR!! Awesome 1 hour!! We drove the entire Island first.. Focusing on Popular sights such a Poipu Beach and the amazing Blow holes that sound like Dragons breathing.... Bought DIRT SHIRTS... Our Pilot was also FEMALE ... smooth flying... awesome!!! Smith Family Luau was a blast... Morning Sunrises were stunning!! Unforgettable THANK YOU FOR BRINGING IT BACK! :)
Most engaging "Doors Off" adventure couple in local Universe!! Mahalo 🌺 Fantastic storytelling, videography including your classic delightful banter. We also did that same helicopter tour with 1 in 1000 no clouds- and we got to land in one of the valleys.
ANYONE taking a FIRST trip to ANY of the Hawaii Islands should FIRST read from the BLUE Reveled books! Oahu Revealed, Kauai Revealed, Maui Revealed, Hawaii, The Big Island Revealed... This series of books are FUN read filled with Maps and photos of the best beaches on EACH Island... Historical facts and great stories!! READ THEM FIRST to enhance your trip to the fullest!!
@@lhollybow They are an awesome collection and I faithfully read them prior to visiting each Island and also packed them in my suitcase for easy reference... The Internet cannot hold a candle to a good book :)
The Revealed phone app is great and contains much of the content of the books. Each island's content (Maui Revealed, Kauai Revealed, etc.) is $5.99/mo and they have a bundle option for all destinations.... loving it
We live on Maui and went to Kauai for a bowling tournament back in 2009. My wife booked the Wailua River Kayak tour which we thought was going to be an easy paddle up. Little did we know we had no team work whatsoever on the kayak and we were almost on divorce status on the way up. But when we finally made it up it was all worth it. Probably gonna be the last kayak tour we'll ever take LOL. Love your content, especially with your trip to Maui since I knew everywhere you both showcased. Mamas fish house is our wedding anniversary go to. Keep up the great work.
Just started watching and following last week… I have to say y’all are THE BEST travel channel I’ve ever seen. Really well done in every aspect: the shots, the dialogue, tips, music (atmosphere)… just wow. Plus I feel like you two travel like my husband and I do… avoiding crowds, exploring, indulging in once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Truly, thank you for these amazing videos! Travel “influencers” drive me nuts because I feel like the goal is to get the “gram” pic but y’all are the epitome of the right way to do it.
We did the Hanakāpīʻai Falls falls hike based on your recommendation. You guys made it look easy! Granted, the trail was significantly more wet and muddy on our hike vs yours. For anyone thinking of doing this hike, for sure boots AND water shoes. The last 1/2 mile up to the falls is quite treacherous, tight ledges and big elevation changes. Swimming was amazing though. Beautiful spot. Consider that if you are beginning to get tired by the time you get to Hanakāpīʻai Beach, the way out from the falls will be long and arduous. Tim and Fin do not show that the way back from the beach is a HUGE uphill climb with quite large steps all the way up made with round wooden posts for the steps. Very slippery when wet and you really have to get the knees up to get over them...and there are a lot of them. Overall an exhausting, challenging and wet hike on a hot day. We have never felt more exhausted and beat down after a hike. I would recommend hiking poles, most people who didn't bring them ended up finding sticks to use. By the time all was said and done we had covered over 13 miles, (not 8) and the equivilent of 96 flights of stairs. If you're not an avid experienced hiker I would recommend finding a shorter, more manageable hike like Secret Falls.
You've become my favorite channel on UA-cam! Heading to Hawaii in just over a week and your videos have me so hyped! Thanks for putting out such high quality content, you guys are the best!
I absolutely adore the two of you. I have been watching your videos for about a year now and I am always sharing various videos of yours on my facebook page. Your videos are so well done and informative and in my opinion some of the best here on UA-cam. For anyone that doesnt know how hard it is to make a video I say give it a try and you will see how much work is involved and just how difficult it is to put together a great video. You guys nail it every week!!! Another awesome video. I hope to make it back to Hawai’i again someday.
Really nice job, gang. As someone who just relocated to Kauai, this was definitely one of the more useful videos on maximizing one's enjoyment here. Lots of YT content on "best" places to go, but you guys showed how to make the most out of the experience.
I love this $1000 vs $100 series ❤️ Great job guys! Kauai is the next place we want to visit in the Hawaiian islands so thank you again for the great tips!!
If you two went to Kauai 35-40 years ago and compared it to this current trip to Kauai, I’d say it was so much better back then than what it is today, much less tourists, hardly any traffic, not as much hotels, lots of open access to many locations through the sugarcane fields, I still reminisce my childhood days of the 70’s on Kauai. My parents still live on Kauai up in the Wailua homesteads area behind the sleeping giant mountain.
We finally got to Kauai and hiked to the Hanakapi'ai Falls yesterday. It was dry and sunny after being closed the previous 2 days. Most of the trail to the beach before the falls hike was dry, but muddy slick spots kept you on your toes. The falls was beautiful and on the way back drenched us with rain for almost the entire 4 miles back to the shuttle. The trails turned into rivers of their own. The stream was clear, thank goodness, so that we could cross to get back. I’ve never been so tired, sore, cold, muddy, and wet after a hike in my whole life. Worth it though! Helicopter is next!
Wow! Amazing video! Thank you for all the gorgeous scenery footage! I loved the boat ride with dolphins! The swimming hole with the waterfall was so beautiful! Thanks for suffering through the cold water for us. Love from Vermont
Tim and Fin I always enjoy your videos. Your dialogue is enjoyable and interesting and your visuals are so great. I can see and do things with you virtually I would not get to do otherwise. Safe travels to you both.
Lovely video as always 😊 . Great job guys . Try Jamaica 🇯🇲 please . I m there right now . It’s such a beautiful country. I think you guys will do justice by showing the true beauty to the world . Thank you Guys 🙏🏼.
Thank you so much for the Gypsy- (now GuideAlong)guide! We had so much fun and it was so relaxed, awesome! We even recommended it to other Hawaii travellers during our stay! Greetings from Germany!
The doors off helicopter is a once in a lifetime experience that I would recommend to anyone who can fit it in their budget. We did one over the West Maui mountains and Molokai sea cliffs. You get to experience areas of the country that can only be seen by air. Kauai in next on our Hawaii wishlist and would definitely do a helicopter again after this video 😍
just watched two or your videos about travel in Hawaii and I found them both to be very entertaining and informative! Thank you both for doing what you love it is inspiring! Booking our trip to Hawaii soon and will definitely be taking your good advice on our travels
Outstanding! I wish there were multiple “thumbs up” buttons. This brought back a ton of memories - my wife and my first trip to Hawaii included Kauai and the hike you did to the Na Pali coast. Keep up the good work.
Great video! I haven't been to Kauai yet but this gives me some great ideas and a lovely overview of the island. Been to Maui and Oahu but Kauai IS expensive so have been putting it off. Love the longer length videos lately as well. Aloha!
I looked for your packing list for Hawaii on your other channel and did not see it. Will it be uploaded soon? We are going to Kauai in 6 weeks and this would be a great resource. Thank for the wonderful tips as they are helpful as we plan the details of our time there. Nice quip about the water at the waterfall being summer in Northern Michigan.... being that is my home I guess I can handle that one.
Harriet and I have not been to Kauai. Hope to make it one day. Watching you guys is like watching an engaging movie. You want more. This is what a Travel Channel should be all about. By the way, Harriet and I just purchased Tripped Gear Navy/white Packing Cube Package. Looking forward to using it in Castella Branco in Central Portugal. Sending you lots of love 💖💖 Harriet , Jim and Yuki. Richmond, Va.
2 generations is like 50-70 years honestly. so... anyways, Tim! 😂 But seriously, I love this video! I've never seen that version of Hawaii. And I absolutely love your budget theme! Go Fin!
So beautiful but I'd love to hear more about plants than your shoes. 😂 Those trails are so lush and gorgeous, WOW!!! 🎉❤ Boat tour rocked it though, super beautiful!
I love your videos. You are both so funny and your adventures are amazing. There’s the MONEY BANK and there is the MEMORY BANK. You two are loaded in memories. You seem to have so much love for one another and remain playful and caring towards each other. Nice to see. Sometimes not sure if I’m watching a travel blog or a romance video. God bless cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
mahalo braddahs for making a good video being from kauai it’s nice to see a good guide for the tourist, i have nothing against them if they are respectful and are willing to learn about the land and history n what’s sacred to the people of hawaii
Great content! Have been to Kauai island many times. It is my favorite island in Hawaii because of the most beautiful sceneries. Have been to everywhere on the island. Just didn't feel enough of the Na Pali coast. The video gives me quite some ideas how different ways to experience Na Pali feels like. Some covers my plan for this year. Still thinking there might be ultimate way like boat camping.
Loved watching this because this is where my wife and I honeymooned 16 years ago and it’s still so beautiful. Did you guys go to the lighthouse on the north shore? That was a cool place!
We jsut cam back from Kauai and we took the same helicopter ride with Stephanie that you did. She's an amazing pilot! and for for sure I need to go back and see the coast by sea. and I have to point my like # was 808 - haha

Hey guys, love your creative and informative content. Especially this one has a great filming quality, may I ask what gopro your are using? The quality is just amazing....love it! And keep on doing the great stuff you do, very inspiring! Thanks Tim and Fin

You'll find gorgeous mountains and waterfalls, white sand beaches, sugarcane fields, and beachside cliffs such as those on the Na Pali coast.
Happy you guys made this video! I'm going to Hawai'i, Kaui and Maui on my honeymoon in August this year and these are all things I wanted to do in Kaui! How long did the hike to the waterfall take??
What camera do you use? Video quality is amazing! Taking the wife and 10yr old to Oahu and Kauai in September. So overwhelmed on where to stay and what to do…
Was your helicopter tour a private chartered flight since it was just the two of you and no other tourists? Just curious because your per person rate was so good! I tried to book a doors off tour with a different tour company and was told that I couldn't bring my full sized camera. Only cell phones were allowed unless I chose to charter a private flight, which would have been thousands of dollars 😳Your tour with Mauna Loa Doors Off Helicopter Tour was much better than the one I looked into, so I will definitely check them out next time I'm there. Great video and info you guys!
Hi Fin, I would love to know what brand that jacket/sweatshirt you wore on the boat trip. It was neon pink/orange with palm trees. Loved it! Also great vid on my most favorite place on earth.
OMG you guys got lost off the trail the same place we did! Starting scrambling up the river and I was like, this can't be right! Then we heard/saw some hikers above us and luckily found our way back on the trail!
This video is awesome! We are actually going to be staying at a bungalow at Kumu camp! Do you happen to know if the waterfall you guys hiked to was Hanakapi’ai falls or Hanakoa falls? They are options out there and we’d like to do that hike.
Good video , thanks for sharing , I also take landscape videos in UK and sometimes abroad, so it's very helpful, I subscribed to the channel, so I'm looking forward to it. Thank you for the good vide
We stayed at that same air BnB, but in the main house which was nicer than the budget villas. We loved kayaking to the secret waterfall - so much for not getting muddy right?
