Sure he has a bad rep. But I've seen him on stage last year in a tiny venue, dedicated to his fans, taking selfies and shit, supporting the opening bands, and after that he's done a HUGE show, killing the audience, despite some shit being stolen backstage. So for me, between what I've heard and what I've seen, I'd rather consider Phil is a great guy.
I've heard Vinny Paul's side of the story great guy btw met him with hellyeah when they tired with 5fdp volbeat and some other band but he basically told me he believes Phil is the reason dime is dead because if Phil had gotten his shit together they would never had joined damage plan I think vinny is still recovering and I feel bad for him and Phil... Vinny security is told if they see Phil get his ass as far away as possible and don't tell Vinny

I have nothing but respect for Phil. Met him last year at a Down meet and greet, and he was easily the coolest musician I've met. Gave me a big hug and everything, and was super cool to everyone else who came to the show

Seems like Phil's always had a great mindset. He just let everything go to his head a little too much back in the day. My bro got to meet him behind a venue a few years ago. He said some other dude had something like 30 items for him to sign, spanning his career and all his different projects. Phil sat down and signed them all without a complaint. I sure as hell wouldn't have done that. Rare attitude. Pantera was a great combination of personalities..

Well I mean during this time Phil was a horrible addict, and even said something along the lines of "Dimebag needs a fucking beat down", however the timing was horrible because a week or 2 later Dimebag was killed. I love Phil tho, easily one of the greatest metal frontmen in history.

Im a medical professional so I knew CPR and was praying she would wake up. The police walked in the door and her eyes opened just as they arrived, I couldn't even tell you the relief that came upon me seeing her come back. Paramedics came in after the police gave her narcan and took her to the ER. We stayed there till about 3am , finally we went home and when I arrived the first thing I did was shoot up, the heroin is more powerful than the fear of death...
It’s heartbreaking to see a stone hard man like Anselmo cry because of “Dimebag” Darrell. Even though he’s a heavy metal star, and he has a hard image, he is a human being who lost a best friend who he really loved.
