Thank you for sharing these variations! I particularly like the right/left foot going back because they help remind me that seoinage is done with the hands, not by lifting with the hips. Incidentally, I teach my students to mess up the gi in preparation for morote seoinage. I have also begun to teach them the various waza involving the leg grabs, including Kuchiki-taoshi and the traditional Kata-guruma, IJF prohibitions be hanged. My aim is to teach traditional old school Kodokan Judo, not IJf Judo. I am indebted to Riki-sensei and the Riki Dojo family for helping me pursue that goal. 🥋🙏
I didin´t know that lapel trick was ilegal, it´s one the best way I can get morote seoi nage but sadly I have a little injury in my right elbow and can do it better to my "bad" side so the question is: Do I have to point my elbow way too high ? Thanks for sharing, I thought two hands morote seoi nage was eri seoi nage but I love to learn.
One of my favorite throws!! Thanks for always taking the time to explain in depth, Riki Sensei 🙏🏼
Thanks Brenda, we appreciate the support!
I love the combination, the ability to get to morote seoi-nage from many techniques
We love hearing that!
