Great work, Duderino. And for anyone thinking they need to buy a new gas dip tube for the beer side - just take it from the gas side. The gas side wiill work completely without a dip tube and just the post. I've taken them out of all my kegs and fill them up the extra litre without worrying about beer backing up into the regulator. Sawing dip tubes... NoOOooOOooooo.
Nice video. Another option Carbonation lids and cask widgets. You can then fill as normal through your long dip tube, so no foam on the way in. Then liquid out is the lid with the cask widget. Cask widget has a filter on the way out. Super clear beer. Like the weighted nut idea
I recently got some ball lock mounting kits (ball lock post to 1/4" bsp) and they both come with short dip tubes but slightly longer than the gas tube and it has just enough extra length on it to let you get a fairly decent amount of the tubing over it.
Question: Why not attach the floating dip tube to the existing gas post, and use the liquid side for CO2 instead? Then CO2 is being injected from the bottom through the beer, it’s even better when carbing.
Its a good question, the main reason is that gas injected through the dip tube will disturb any sediment that has settled at the bottom which kind of defeats the object of the dip tube
Can't recommend these highly enough, no steady stream of sediment precipitating out over the first few weeks. These, plus gelatin, gives you crystal clear beer very quickly.
Think I will get some Nuts, The floating dip tubes are great in the keg. Great Vid mate

Damn thats a good point
Thanks! I was having a hard time figuring out how these things attach to your keg, and this cleared it up quick.

Great video as always. What type/size nut did you add to it?
Stainless 12mm I think....
The nut you added as a weight, should be made out of stainles steel or brass.
correct, the one I used is indeed SS
