What a great clip. Two Irish icons indeed. Whilst there was many things wrong with Ireland in the past at least we had the warm, reassuring, entertaining presence of Gaybo to take our minds off the worst of it. Our world is a sorrier place now as, whilst Ireland is a great country, there's still a lot wrong with it and sadly Gaybo is gone and there won't be another like him. He didn't get it right all the time but he mostly did. A national treasure sorely missed.
Eat your heart out Jools, Gay Byrne on radio and TV was the soundtrack to my childhood , teen years and long after, what a legend , and I never once saw him play Piano. Oh the good oul days. ❤️🙏
