Do forensics ever do personality disorder diagnosis ie dissocial whilst the patient is inpatient? Or do they need to be stable and without acute psychosis before that kind of assessment?
Wait, wait, what??? Women who are prostitutes get dealt with more gently than the men who make their existence possible? So there are more prostitutes than punters? can you do a serious psychoanalysis of men who are wife beaters ? everybody concentrates on why the woman doesnt leave. nobody ever asks why the men think it is ok to beat women they are supposed to be in a relationship with. Hedda Nussbaum/Joel Steinberg in NYC come to mind if you need an example.
Do you happen to know anything about a guy called Nicholas Salvador? He went on a back yard rampage a few years back in London i think?! And killed and decapitated an elderly woman named Palmira Silva. It was back in September 2014 in Edmonton North London. I'm sure he was found not guilty of murder by reason of insanity. And I'm sure he was put in Broadmoor
Hello Dr, I hope you had a great Christmas with your family and happy New Year. I'm not entirely sure if dependent syndrome was initially called something else but I just wanted to ask why the names of certain psychiatric words like dependent syndrome and lunatic ( I could be wrong but I read that this was initially a legitimate psychiatric term?) get changed over time. I understand that there is possibly a variety of different reasons why different names are changed but generally is it to reduce stigma or to improve the accuracy of a term etc.
Hi. Thanks for the Q. Lie detectors are v unreliable, and only measure emotional stress to an answer - they cannot tell what is the truth. The police would rarely help me, because as far as they are concerned, their job (gathering evidence) is already done. Their focus is securing a prosecution, not necessarily helping me do my job. They would need to move on to the next case.

Lie detectors are not admissible in court! elite military units , Spies , get trained to beat them.
Cross examination and Requests for Further Particulars catch liars out very quickly ...
