My latest turd to join the garage. Meant to be my new reliable workhorse, this has to be one of the worst Hondas I have ever owned. Yet ironically the most reliable! Will I loose my continued sting rate of buying crap?
What do you think I should do with it?
Sub and like for more Honda content!
Keenauto!
Not worth complaining really.
I just repossessed my 15 year old Honda Wave 125 s from my Thai. family Christ they tried to make a mess of it. No brakes no lights, broken panels etc Luckily as you said its a Honda, and the engine is sound. As I cant berate the shit out of them I decided to see it as a challenge. Good Luck with yours Pal.
Best way to look at it! Least at the end you know you got yourself a decent bike. Good luck with yours too
Its a blessing living in Thailand. As Honda did most of the work for 45 quid includind a new rear tyre. A re uphlstered seat is around 5 quid.
Wow £1000, yep I remember when they were 100 quid and then you will still haggle, man times are daft
Yep! I would have loved to have taken advantage of that era. But I guess these days you can’t get anything cheap
What a total death trap, this is why I never take anyone’s word for anything when I by a bike, I basically check every nut and bolt on it before making an offer,
Seems like a right nail. A classic case of giving a prospective purchase a good going over before you buy.
Yep! Lesson learnt, I went in too confident knowing it was a cub and ignored anything bad
@@keenauto88 Cubs, usually being workhorses and faultlessly reliable, are often taken for granted and abused with no servicing and zero care. Looks like this was one of them.
I think given the relative indestructibility / typical mature owners with c90s you have been unlucky. I bought a cheap c90 from pictures only, my dad changed the oil / plug and it was pretty much faultless afterwards.
That was my expectations but I guess someone had to find the bad one and it was me! Haha
@@keenauto88 you handled it like a champ ! 🙏
I just bought 3 runners in cambodia for £350, rough around the edges, but good value
Amazing value on that one, very jealous!
I may buy a 2nd hand bike next year. Superficially that bike looks good but prior owner seems to have mangled it. I've been bamboozled with BS Marketplace photos-the when see the actual item...I can only afford a 2nd hand Vespa.
Vespas are good👍if you can take someone with you who knows them that will help.
I find the best way to buy stuff is to think, do I want this bike if I have to spend hundreds on it tomorrow? Then if you do you know you bought something you really liked and you can’t think in hindsight
Hope you can get her sorted out quickly.
Thanks! Me too
It’s a bit of and lucky dip buy a cub these days and the prices are more than ever but ultimately you own another Cub and that is worth a bit of pain 😎
100%! The prices are eye watering but the smile factor always wins 👍
What a rip off , back street mechanic ey mate, feel sorry for you , youd have been better buying a newer one , trouble is buyer be aware rules apply , lessons learned the hard way , weve all done that at some point in our lives , hope you get it sorted best wishes .
Cheers bud! Yep, Lesson learnt. The seller was a nice guy and knowing cubs I didn’t look over it like I should have. Still means now I can have some fun on her and not feel so guilty
It is mad how much people are asking for 25+ year old Cubs that have possibly had years of bodge jobs like this one. Seven Seas do C110s for £3100 and you can get a new C125 for around £3500. Why risk £2k on an old one?
@@GeshmaalI wondered the same. I bought an almost new supercub 125 two years ago. But a lot of guys hate the remote key fob, complicated electronics etc. They want the simplicity of the older bikes with the kick start. etc. They may be right, but I personally love the smoothness and better usability /increased speed of the new c125
Lifan 110 starught bolt in. Run the 90 carb, and 90 flywheel cover
Good shout and that will be last resort doing an engine swap. I wanted the keep the Honda engine so am going to sort the issues
Lifan go in, but not without mucking about, it alters footpeg height too.
I'd tap it out with the head on, fit the helicoil and then flush the combustion chamber out with petrol then air.
Thanks for the tip! Was considering doing the job with the head on
Very Nice.i like honda
Cheers bud me too!
