Stay tuned for a video on extreme hot weather clothing. I have been wearing the Arcteryx Ionia Merino Wool shirt for hot summer hikes. I also like the UA Elevated Woven 2.0 Shorts. Under Armour seems to make good shorts in my opinion.
Slightly different fabric but otherwise identical. From what I read, Cormac breathes slightly better and doesn’t pill as much. But I can’t verify from experience.
I have both and I used Echo in New Zealand. Echo (I have dark blue one) is somewhat super light and is great for running, but definitely lacks in sun protection (you can see right through Echo's material). I also have Cormac in the same color as Life Hiker. Well, it is definitely not as breathable as Echo and you will sweat in summers depending on where on this planet you are atm (not as much in Sweden compared to Africa I guess). I am right now in Melbourne and used Cormac this past summer. Cormac is more durable and definitely offers you higher sun protection rating (material is denser). One thing to mention is if you are wearing a baseball cap under the hoody,, then you can turn your head into the wind and it will funnel the air under the hoody inflating it and providing you quite a bit of ventilation. Note that New Zealand and Australia have the highest incidents of skin cancer in the world, so I definitely pay attention to this stuff haha. Hope this helps :)
I have the navy blue color and love it. I would like a trimmer fit for purely sports use so may buy another one. Arcteryx fit is awesome.
I have Patagonia Tropical Hoody too, but it has less useful hood and less nice material.
Anyone else looking at the Cormac Hoody?
Thanks for the review! Still can’t decide between the Cormac or the Patagonia tropic comfort hoody
No prob! Probably couldn’t go wrong with either.
Ones Chinese owned and the other donated to great causes. Simple choice
What's your favourite sun top for very hot and sunny weather? Also which bottoms do you recommend for hot and sunny weather?

@@lifehiker can't wait for the video. I have heard of the arcteryx cormac but not the ionia. Looking forward to your review
Try the Alpaca Sun Hoodie from appalachian Gear Company. It is just like Marino but on steroids..
I have a Cormac hoodie in high-viz orange that I wear for kayaking big lakes. The material is really supple and breathable.
Love my format! Just made an unboxing on some arcteryx gear too!
Cool, I’ll check it out
How is the odor management? Looking at some Alpaca hoodies.
Odor management is good. I’ve worn this multiple camping days in a row with little to no odor.
I have two of these, awesome in every way
Totally agree - I have two as well.
is there any difference between this and the old remige hoody? They look identical

I'm hesitating between the cormac and the outdoor research echo ! Maybe the echo for warmer weater and cormac for spring and fall....
You could be onto something there.
I have the OR echo the lightest I’ve found for super hot weather

Echo has a pretty low upf rating fwiw.
Thanks.
You're welcome
