I love your photos. Coming off the X100V, I was surprised at how good the subject detection and tracking autofocus were on the VI. The lens design imposes a limit on focusing speed so it's not the fastest around, but it's good enough for me. I also wanted to mention that the built in ND filter really helps when you want to get those slow shutter speeds on a bright day.
Fantastic video and even better images. What are your honest thoughts so far on its dynamic range? How many stops before the image starts to fall apart? Would you say shadow or highlight retention is the stronger of the two with respect to how much data you’re able to recover?
thank you for the comment!! it’s got great dynamic range! haven’t done a major stress test yet but have had a fair share of underexposed shots that have been easily recovered & blown out highlights that have recovered nicely as well! definitely lean towards (if you have too) overexposing as the sensor will most likely perform better when recovering highlights then recovering shadows! jpegs have great dynamic range but obviously the raw capabilities in recovering information is outstanding 💪🏽

If they dog frisky images were taken with the X100vi - then I'm impressed. I too have just picked one up (in black).
yes they were taken with the x100vi 🤩 only had it on low speed burst mode, 6fps! 💪🏽

Shutter drag refers to focal plane shutters.
The X100 series cameras have a leaf shutter. No drag.

If you are asking what lens it uses, its a proprietary y lens that comes with the camera that cant be changed.
